oh wow...sorry to hear you're having such a hard time - that sounds painful and LOOKS even more painful...I have no idea what I'm saying here but I read your options and #2 sounded good - do you think the acupuncture will be worth it ??? |
Well, it is the least expensive and the least invasive. Hubby and I were talking about it last night and he thinks I should give it a try. I am going to have to do something, I spend alot more time on here:) because it is too hard to talk to my girlfriends on the phone...:( and I am a chatty person. My husband used to joke he paid extra but now he is feeling bad. I just told myself things happen for a reason and maybe I was just supposed to use this time to listen more?;) |
O Michelle...I am so sorry to hear you had to go through this! I would probably choose the acupuncture first also..I wish you didn't have to go through any of this but, I have heard good things about acupuncture... And by the way (off the subject!) It was nice to see a picture of you! Now I can put a face to Bailey's Mom! You are very pretty...even with your surgery! When do you get Angel? Michelle...I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. :ghug: Brenda |
Thanks, Brenda!:) My girlfriend (who is also a fantastic medium:p ) told me to go ahead with the acupuncture and gave me a couple recommendations, so I'll call next week. I am planning on picking Angel up next month. I am waiting until Olivia and I get back from our mother/daughter trip to see what the weather is doing. My step mom is not doing very well lately (she really misses my dad) so I am going to plan to stop through Oklahoma also on the puppy trip. Happy New Year! Thanks for everything!:) |

My Dad has had acupuncture for spinal stynosis (SP?) I do hear good things about it and pray it works for you...I am sorry to hear your step-mom isn't doing well...Holidays can be very difficult for people when they have lost a loved one...I know this all too well... I hope you and your daughter have a great, safe trip! and can't wait to see pics of that new little girl!! I am so excited for you... Let me know how big she is when you get her....I had made a dress for Sadie and it is wayyy to small...By the time I dug it out of the drawer and tried it on Lillie it was a little too tight for her.....soooo if Little Angel is around 2 to 3 lbs this dress will fit her...all I would need from you is her chest measurements so I could adjust the velcro for her...and it's going to be FREE!! I'd just need your address again! let me know if your interested in it! Good Luck Michele! |
You are too sweet! I'll let you know how big she is when I finally get her. Right now she is 2.5lbs, full grown she'll probley only be 3.5 to 4lbs. I'm hoping more towards the 4lb.:aimeeyork I have also heard a lot of positive things about acupuncture, I have been a bit leary because of all those needles  but after what I went through that will be a piece of cake!:D |
My husband has a paralyzed vocal cord - from a surgical procedure which used a very large breathing tube (so it wasn't thyroid surgery). At first the cord was paralyzed in the open position, so he was hoarse and he choked when he tried to eat solid food (since the cord was in the open position, then the trachea (tube to his lungs) was not sealed off when he swallowed) - it was so terrible, he lost 40 pounds and he wasn't overweight to begin with! Finally, the paralyzed cord moved to the center position so that when the other one closed (during swallowing) then he didn't choke. Also, his hoarsness improved and he only is hoarse from time to time. They said that he didn't need a surgical procedure - so I'm not sure how his paralysis is different. I hope things go well for you. It is scarey to have a paralyzed cord! |
My goodness -- I had no bruising. I also had steri-strips covering my incision. Had to leave them in place til they fell off. I had a previous surgery scar and the doc used the same one, so mine was just a little higher than a normal thyroidectomy cut. |

Send me her chest measurment when you get her...(your address too!) Lillie is 4 lbs and it's just about a half inch to small (around her chest) so it should fit you new furbaby perfectly!! I really like the way the dress came out too! It's hard to judge sometimes on the sizes...Oh well...little Angel will LOOK like an angel in this dress!! I am going to TRY to attach it...hope you like it and if you DON'T want it I won't be upset...Just thought you might want it. On the acupuncture....my Dad said you don't even feel the needles....I think because they are so thin.......just take a deep breath and pray! |

They also lost me in the hospital for several hours...I had surgery at 10 am, I didn't get back into my room until 6:30pm. They actually came into my room at one point to take my husband to have surgery, they didn't know where I was. My husband starting throwing a fit! Not a great experience! |

Yes, it is a bit scary but more irritating at this point! My vocal cords are in a V so I have a bit of choking on certain liquids, food is ok. The Dr said since only one side is working it is over compensating for the left side, & over time I could strain the right side and not have a voice. I just really don't want any more surgery and was hoping someone had the Radiesse procedure to let me know how it went. I am glad to hear your husband is doing better, you never know what will happen during surgery. |
