Ill Join You, But What Do I Eat? Do You Make It Yourself Or Do You Go By Recipes? Let Me Know Or Pm Me It Sounds Interesting, Thanks |
I'm interested! |
I'm interested too. My problem though is I need to be told what I can eat. And it HAS to be simple food. I hate to cook and bake. I'm a very simple cook. Meat, potatoes or rice and (can)veggies. Thats what I cook. I eat ALOT of chicken breast, my favorite. Can you list what we can eat??? So no potatoes or rice at all ? What about cheese? |
Here is the atkins diet website. Click on "Atkins Phases" and start with Phase 1. http://www.atkins.com/articles/getting-started |

No potatoes, no rice, no flour, no sugar, no pasta. But I have found there are now excellent foods available to take the place of most things. Shirataki noodles are an excellent replacement for pasta. No carbs, very few calories. There is a brand of "flour" tortillas that is REALLY good (a lot of the low carb tortillas are yucky though so I'll have to find out what the brand is) and I cut them up and fry them to make chips and have guacamole. Put cheese in them and make quesadillas. I don't have this kind of thing until I've been on the diet a while though. You can have most green veggies & mushrooms, no carrots. If you absolutely need something sweet, a slice of apple, a couple strawberries or blueberries are ok because they are higher in fiber content. |

I should ad though...make sure you can do the Atkins plan before starting...people with kidney problems shouldn't do Atkins. The South Beach plan is similar to Atkins and it was written by a cardiologist, it's still low carb but I think it's also low fat. I compared the grocery list to each and it seems the SB plan was more expensive to do than Atkins. |
Do you have any special recipes Teri? |

THat sounds good to me! For lunch today I cut up chicken, tomatoes, green onion and cucumber and mixed it up with ranch dressing and it was yummy. My husband's favorite thing is boiling chicken in tomatoe sauce with chili pepper and garlic. He is addicted to that. |
I did this a couple of years ago too!! I'm definitely in!!! I have really been wanting to dive into it again and here is the perfect way to do it, with you all on here for support and to bounce recipe's off of!!:D :D |
I will join you! I need to lose about 40 pounds. I haven't been able to lose it since I had my daughter 9 months ago. Please share your meal ideas! |
Yay, another member! Here is my goal, maybe you all could post yours too. I had 3 goals, I'm on my second goal right now which is 30 more pounds. If I get there, I'll be at my pre pregnancy weight. And I will be extremely happy with that!!! But my ULTIMATE and 3rd goal is 20 more after that which is what I weighed the day I met my hubby, it would be extremely thin for me and I don't think I can do it....:hands: But everyday is a day closer to a skinnier me. I'm totally motivated. I hope we can all help eachother out! |
ok....i am in. i really need to loose the weight i gained when my daughter was born. i need to loose 20lbs. MY QUESTION IS THE FIRST TWO WEEKS,.....IS THERE SUPPOSE TO BE NO CARBS AT ALL?????????????????? |
No...during the first 2 weeks it's just very low carbs. |
So, what's for dinner? I'm having grilled salmon with a maple/mustard sauce and sauted broccoli with red pepper strips...and later I'm having rocky road ice cream for desert! |
