Stuffed mushrooms are always a hit around here and so easy!:) |
Anymore ideas??? I'm shopping tonight for the party...... |
I love pigs in a blanket and deviled eggs!! |
Here's one of my favorite stand-bys- They're pinwheel thingys. Take a sheet of puff pastry and flatten out a bit- you can use a rolling pin, I just smoosh it with my hand. Spread a layer of herb cheese spread and top with prosciutto and roll. Wrap it in saran wrap and freeze until needed. When you want to serve it, let it thaw a little, slice into about 1/4 in. slices and bake according to the puff pastry directions. Everyone loves these and they look pretty fancy but are SUPER easy! The puff pastry comes two to a box so I usually make two rolls and I'm set anytime I need to pull out some munchies. |
spinach dip yum yum yum...Don't know if spinach is safe to eat yet though? |
Very easy and people love it, as it?s very different. Quantities vary due to number of guests. Thinly sliced prosciutto Fresh sliced fresh pear, skin on One bunch arugula Take one slice prosciutto lay flat. Put on one slice of pear, cut in ?? think slices, add about ?? (small amt needed) of leaf of arugula. Roll, and put in toothpick to hold together. Make as many as you need for party. Serve on a pretty tray with extra arugula or parsley as garnish. Enjoy, and no cooking required, no sauce needed either......... |
OH BOY! I'm bookmarking this thread! :D |
Repost as my puncuation got messed up Very easy and people love it, as it's very different. Quantities vary due to number of guests. Thinly sliced prosciutto Fresh sliced fresh pear, skin on One bunch arugula Take one slice prosciutto lay flat, put on one slice of pear, (cut in 1/2" thick slices), add about 1/4 (small amt needed) of leaf of arugula. Roll, and put in toothpick to hold together. Make as many as you need for party. Serve on a pretty tray with extra arugula or parsley as garnish. OK This might sound dumb and artery clooging but for some reason ALWAYS well loved and a hit at all the get togethers. Slice one of the big blocks of velveeta into 1 inch squares(or smaller). then wrap each square in a piece of cooked maple bacon(or regular bacon) and secure with a frilly toothpick:eek: That's it...nothing fancy but people eat them like they were something FABULOUS and love them:confused: |
Thanks! I just wanted to thank everyone for their ideas and let you know the party was wonderful and I've passed on several of your recipes to some of my guests who asked. Carol |
Now I'm hungry :) I'm glad the party was fun!!! |
Thought I'd bring this thread back - 'tis the season! I've used several of these recipes through out this past year both at home and for parties at work. Hoping to see some new favorites added. :dribble: |
I have a few but, I will list 2 artichoke/spinach dip (served hot) or stuffed mushrooms.. |
Oh geeze!!! I never noticed it was an old thread!! Great idea to start it up again...how about starting an appetizer thread? ya know what!! I think I'm going to start one!! I love appetizers! and so do my girls (the skin ones) |
Ok, I've got one that a friend at work makes and it is wonderful. It is equal parts finely chopped sweet onion, grated swiss cheese and Helmans mayonaise. You have to use Helmans he said or it becomes oily and seperates. Mix together and pop it in the oven to heat, gets a nice light brown ontop. This is the best! Serve with Tortilla chips or crackers. |
