I still have my grandmothers Pressure cooker although as old as it is I would never try using it. My mom use it when I was growing up. I had one and don't remember what happen to it been so long since I've used it might be a good thing to look into again since I'm back to cooking so much again. Watch out QVC here I come.:D |
Oh definitely, I would use a new one! Not an old one. Its funny how these are considered for old time use. Like I did. Most people considering them for home canning only, high pressure to kill bacteria and such for canning from a garden and keeping food for very long periods of time. But they make great meals in minutes. I would guess an immediate meal from one would be almost sterile....:D |

Hi Kelly, Do the new ones have the rubber gasket around the inside of the lid. I got one so many years ago but my friends blew on her and oh my after that I was scared to use mine, never did. What name brand do you have and what size? Thanks, Patti |
Yes they have the rubber gasket on the lid. The Brand I use is Presto. Mine is for pint size canning or cooking. The smaller version. Not Quart size. |
