I'm so sorry to here about this scary situation you are facing. I'll be thinking about you, and hope it's a smooth process, with a fast recovery! |
So sorry to hear about this. I'm keeping you in my prayers.:( |
Thank you SO MUCH - EVERYONE!!!! Thank you so much.....EVERYONE. You just don't know how much all of your thoughts and Prayers mean to me - I wish I could reply to each and every single one of you.... you are ALL the greatest bunch of FRIENDS that anyone could EVER ask for!!! :ghug: Some people have asked how my Retina became detached - and honestly, at this point, my doctor and I have NO idea :( My husband went with me to my dr. appointment today since we knew that they were going to dilate my eyes, and I wouldn't' be able to make the drive back home. And my husband DID ask the dr. what could have possibly caused it to become detached. The dr. then asked me if I had any type of blunt trauma to my head, or eye of any kind...but I haven't. The ONLY thing we can think of is that it is hereditary. My mom had this happen about 8 years ago, as well as her grandpa, and someone else close to him (possibly a sister?). So at THIS point...thats the only thing we can come up with :( As for me having any type of pain - there is NONE. That's one reason I am so lucky. Thank GOD I went in when I did to get a new pair of contacts, and have my eyes examined - if I wouldn't of went in, I would have never known about my detached Retina...and since it will cause you to go blind if left untreated, I am very lucky. The only thing I DID notice was what is called seeing "floaters"...I can't even explain what they are really - but of course I passed them off as being "nothing" (I know....BAD move on my part..) because I didn't see them very often, and it wasn't enough to actually BOTHER ME. My mom saw "floaters" when she had her detached Retina, but she saw them CONSTANTLY, and there were ALOT of them. With me it was only every now and then, and only very few of them. It is hard to explain what they are - almost just like little dots of black "blur" floating across your eyes. It's weird :( But anyway - I have calmed down alot since I have had time to actually sit and talk with my husband about the whole situation. And the good thing, and MOST IMPORTANT thing is that I caught it in time - thank God! Also reading everyone's kind words and knowing that I have a whole group of people out there that are Praying for me really made me feel alot better as well. It has helped ease some of my worry. So once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE...you have all really helped ease my fears, and even though I know that when the time comes for surgery I will be a nervous wreck (who wouldn't be!), I am going to do my best to try and stay calm for the time being. Big hugs to EVERYONE here!!! YT is the best!!! :ghug: ~Brooke & The Stedster  |
You are a blessed young woman! It was not just luck -- our Holy Father spoke to you and you listened by going in for new contacts. Thank God? Yes we do thank the Giver of All Gifts -- of all healing. You have a small army here at YT who are praying for you now and will continue until you are healed. good luck and please please keep us posted. |
You are in my prayers as well....:) .......Its good it was caught when it was.....Please update as you will be in my thoughts.....its wonderful that so many are praying for you.. what a comfort....:) Yt'ers are just the best group of people.... |
Oh, I'm so sorry you're going through this! Big hugs :justahug: and healing prayers are headed your way. Please let us know how it goes. |
Wishing you all the best and we will be keeping you in our prayers that all turns out well for you! My dad had a detached retina when he bumped his head doing repairs on his deck. He was 80 years old and after having minimally surgery, his vision is just about perfect again! You have youth on your side so your chances of having a positive outcome are very good! Plus the fact that it was caught early. You are so lucky you had your appointment that day! hugs |
Sorrry ...to hear about your eye condition. Know that you are being prayed for. Especially for healing. My Mom had the same situation so I know what you may be facing. Please take good care. |
Thank God you went in when you did! I can't imagine your fear, but remember, God knows and HE has you in the palm of HIS hand. Procedures have changed dramatically in recent years and I pray that when you go on Monday your procedure will be minimal. I pray for your peace of mind and for your doctors that they will have the skill and knowledge to restore your detached retina in the easiest way possible. God bless, and when you are able, let us know how you are. |
