What a nice poem! You did a great job on this!!! you should submit it to a magazine...Sounds like a winner to me! |
I'm sooooooooooo sick of political correctness that I could scream. I feel like everything I cherish is being taken away one thing at a time. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!:D |

Merry Christmas Without Christ, there is nothing to celebrate. |
I don't know if this has been said but whenever someone tells me it's more politically correc to say "Happy Holidays" I tell them that that is a LIE Happy Holidays? it stands for HAPPY HOLY DAYS My lord!!! It stands for celebrating the birth of Christ, the Ressurection of Christ, Saints Day Eve, and St. Patricks Day, and St. Valentines Day as well as any other HOLY DAY The politcal correct term is something like "Happy Winter" or "Seasons Greetings" and might I add MERRY CHRISTMAS I hope we can all celebrate the birth of Jesus, our saviour, together! |
oh! I almost forgot Happy Hanukkah because that's a Holy WEEK!!! So when I say "Happy Holidays" I really mean HAPPY HOLY DAYS, including Christmas, AND Hannukah. I have celebrated both through out my childhood. |
AMEN!!!:bravo: |
 Yesterday my bf and I were talking, and I brought up that soon we probably won't even be allowed to put "Merry Christmas" signs in front of our houses on Christmas. I respect that everyone has different beliefs and celebrates different holidays, but to me, atleast in my area, it's like people are trying to diminish christmas. Even when I was in grade school we couldn't say "Merry Christmas", and it had to be a "Holiday Party", not a Christmas party. Which is fine because I understand we gotta include everyone, but my complaint is that we would learn about Chanauka (sp?) and Kwanza, but God forbid we learn anything about Christ. I believe my mom even called the school board on that one too. I still say Merry Christmas, and I will continue too. Of course, to people I know who dont' celebrate Christmas I will say "Happy Holidays", but I still have my right to celebrate what I want too. |

Exactly!!!! I respect other peoples beliefs, so they NEED to respect mine. That is one of my major pet peeves, is people pushing beliefs on you. I remember a few times when people would go door to door discussing their religion. This was when we had 2 boxers, and of course when someone would come to the door they would go crazy barking. They weren't going to hurt anyone, but definitly were intimidating. My parents would say "If you don't leave right now I'm letting them loose" IT WAS GREAT!!! |
On a side note I agree we are diminishing the Christ in Christmas but, my goodness, what happened to Thanksgiving?? It seems to me like it really got lost in between Halloween & Christmas. I've even noticed that in some stores when they do their "after Halloween" clearance, they put the Thanksgiving things on clearance. as well. Sorry for the "attempted hijacking". :) Quote:

Were hosting Thanksgiving this year, and we went looking for table decorations and stuff, couldn't find anything! Only Christmas stuff. |
I saw someone said something about the Pledge of Alligance honestly, I think EVERYONE should say it, BUT if you don't believe in God, simply skip the "under God" part! You still need to pledge to the United States!! LOVE YOUR COUNTRY! YOU ARE LUCKY TO BE HERE!!!! I HATE people who are anti their country! Unless you live in a terrible place, where you have no freedom, but America, it's great! We're lucky, and things aren't perfect ofcourse, this isn't paradise but you're still lucky to be here. and yes about Thanksgiving! How irritating! All the Thanksgiving and Halloween stuff comes out at the same time and goes onsale at the same time! I hate that, I think that in school they teach about Thanksgiving well, at least they did when I was in grade school. and I also hate how they teach about Hannukah and Kwanzaa, but the only thing they're aloud to teach about religion is all the bad things that happened with the catholic church and how they ruled Rome in the past. They used to have a little "holiday shopping" in gradeschool where the kids would bring in like 10 dollars and buy little gifts for their families, but they cancelled it because they decided it was too christmas-y and again Holidays Holy Days |
Reading this thread has really lifted my spirit....... Sometimes I think that I just "ain't with the times" with all the politically correct ideas and ways of doing things. I am glad so many have the same opinion as I do! AND BRAVO to Walmart.... they figured out that many were boycotting them last year due to the "NO Merry Christmas" greeting policy..... so they changed their ways! :animal-pa |

I hate when people who are citizens of this country talk like it is the worst country ever. I will admit, I haven't been too happy with the president, but I still honor my country and am proud to be American. The worst though, is when you get people from another country who move here, and b**** constnantly about the U.S and how their country is sooo much better, it's like WTF did you even move here then??!?!?!? Oh and I won't even begin to talk about those people who were protesting at the funerals of fallen soldiers, they are even worse! |
Oops, didn't realize I double-posted |
I would like to say a lot of things about this thread, things like I thing is such a great thread, but I won't say anything just Merry Christmas to ya'll!!!!! Is the most wonderful time of the year:note: :note: :note: :note2: :note2: :note2: |

Thank you for posting this thread. It is great! Merry Christmas one and all. This is America and it is what this country believes in. In God we trust in on our money! If you do not believe in God that is your belief but don't try to change it for the rest of us. I get so upset when I hear politicians, schools etc. changing our beliefs to benefit others. Makes me sick. What is our country thinking? Carol & Buddy |
Merry Christmas to all! Yes...it is Merry Christmas for me this year as well. And if you don't like the united states you can always leave! |
Amen!!!! It is Merry Christmas for me also! |

If we would stop patronzing the stores that have the No Merry Christmas Greeting. You see how fast they stop and go back to wishing all a Merry Christmas.Christmas is a big money maker for the retail stores. The commericals on tv didn't help either, lets see what happens this Christmas season. I wish you all a early Merry Christmas.. |
This is really interesting I just got this email a few minutes ago, I thought it would be a good idea to post it on this thread. Interesting suggestion, but also one I think I will make an effort to put into practice. A Letter From Jesus Christ, concerning His birthday celebration. Dear Children, It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although I do appreciate being remembered anytime. How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth just, GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town. Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can & may remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching explaining who I am in relation to you & what each of our tasks were. If you have forgot that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8. If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it. 1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time. 2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them. 3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again. 4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them. 5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her. 6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile it could make the difference. Also, you might consider supporting the local Hot-Line: they talk with people like that every day. 7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families. 8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary, especially one who takes My love & Good News to those who have never heard My name. You may already know someone like that. 9. Here's a good one. There are individuals & whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them (and I suspect you don't) buy some food & a few gifts & give them to the Marines, the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me & they will make the delivery for you. 10. Finally if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine. P.S. Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me & do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above & get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember, I LOVE YOU. |
Merry Christmas and Jesus Loves Ya ! Amen |
