If you are interested in scientific information on God. I would recommend getting the DVD on Rob Bells Everything Spiritual Tour. He was great! I saw him when he came to town this summer. He started with "in the beginning" and went through "the theory of evoultion in the bible". http://www.everythingisspiritual.com/ Quote:

[QUOTE=Brookef18]A lot of us here ask for prayer for our babies and also other area's in our lives, and I am wondering what every one believes... I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus died for our sins. I grew up Catholic....and now I consider myself Christian...and belive me....he reminds me every day how much I need him. Francie |

He does have our best interest.....even if it's now always what we want! I can remember verbally saying outloud..."What is the point of talking to you...if you're not listening to me?" and then BOOM....he answers my prayers...in a way I never thought my direction should go....and its such a better decision than the one I wanted! And then I feel ashamed! If he could...he'd send me to my room to think about what I've said to him! lol |
I am a Christian and Jesus is my Lord and Savior!!! |

Christian and spirit filled amen. One of my favorite scriptures is Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things god works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.. Having a close relationship with my Lord and Savior is mega awesome.Another favorite scripture is Matthew 19:26 with God all things are possible. Theres power in prayer! |
Proving my faith in the younger generation It is so nice to hear all these young Christians speak up for the Lord and give your reasons for believing. I just cannot imagine the joy that must be in Heaven due to your witness. I can remember many years ago dropping my daughter off at Baylor University as a freshman (Baptist college in Texas for those who might not be familiar) and going to an orientation class for the parents. What they basically told us was that we brought our children there to put them in the "Baylor bubble" so they would believe what we had told them all their lives & that that would not happen. They would question everything we had told them & learn to believe by questioning God's very existence and come out stronger Christians than they would have ever been by just accepting what we told them. So it thrills my heart to hear that you have examined and formed your own beliefs and met God for yourself. God is not afraid of our questions. Quote:

I am Christian - Southern Baptist denomination. Baptized when I was 12 just months before my grandmother passed. Found out the night I dedicated my life to the Lord that my grandmother had been praying with my pastor about this event for the prior few months and that she told my pastor that she would not leave this planet until I had found my way. It was two weeks following my Baptism that she went into the hospital and never came out. She had been diagnosed with cancer around 6 months prior for the second time in her life and her treatment was failing. She and I were very close and while we discussed God and the church, we never discussed my decision or the fact that I had made up my mind. She was so happy the day I left the pew and went down front in church. My family had always been so very active in church. My grandfather was a deacon for over 40 years before his death. I try my best to live my life so that my grandmother would be proud, but I do right by God. |
Christian-I was baptised presbyterian but by my own choosing I'm First Assembly of God. |
I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so grateful to have Christ as my Savior and to know that the Lord loves each of us today just as he did those in Bible times. I am thankful that he continues to speak to prophets today, just as he did then. I am glad that the ancient people on this continent kept records and that we can have their writings also as a second witness of Jesus Christ together with the Bible. I have enjoyed this thread and am so glad to get to know so many of you and hear about and your relationship with Diety. This is a great group! Nancy |

I, too, have enjoyed reading this thread. I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus died to save ALL people, but it's like a gift on Christmas. Someone can give you the greatest present ever, but it's up to you to reach out and accept it. I attend church every week. I don't go to look at other people and see what they're doing wrong. I go because God has told us to remember to meet together with other believers. It is always an encouraging time for me, even when the speaker highlights one of my sins as wrong. It encourages me to know that God loves me just the way I am, but He isn't content to leave me that way. For those who say the church is full of judgemental hypocrites, I would like to point out that just because we are Christians, it does not mean we are perfect. The Christian life is a journey- away from what we were- to becoming more like Christ. True, Christ said to "judge not lest ye be judged," but He also said we would know people by their "fruits." You can tell what kind of person they are by the things they do, the words they say, and the way they live their lives. God loves ALL people, but He does not always love what they do. |
I am a Christian, whose eschatological view is Full Preterist. I must say I've been pleasantly surprised by the civility of this thread :). I haven't seen any stoning! |
As to casting "stones"...the "sinless" ones can do that... |
