  Totally agree! Just because i dont go to church does not make me a badperson. why do i want to go listen to some guy or woman stand there and basically tell me his beliefs.....i have my own.

So I gave up and one day ask God to come into my life and help me. I didn't know anything about God but I still ask.

Then amazing things started happening , It was not cancer! I get a job that paid about 4,000 a month grooming!! Three months on food stamps, the most degrading thing I have ever had to do was over, and my allergies went away, I am not joking no more shots or drugs.
So I am a believer in God and Jesus and in Angles , and peace is in my heart every day because of it. Even when the bad things happen in life I know I am not alone. And that is a great feeling, I wish it on everyone.
Some days I can just feel his arms around me. I am lucky.

Isn't that an amaszing feeling. You know you have connected and God has taken over when you feel the weight has been lifted off of your shoulders, and It's just like somone just turned on a light. Everything looks different.

A little off topic here, but has anyone here seen The Passion?? It was a huge hit here. We went out and bought it but I could only watch it once. It was so gory but they say what really happened was alot worse then what they showed in the video. I think of it all the time and how much Jesus loves us to go through that suffering for us. What really amazes me was when he was on the cross and the people throwing rocks at him and cursing him and everything else he still prayed for them saying father forgive them, they do not know. To be able to do that just amazes me. I know if it were me, forgiveness for them would be one of the last things on my mind, but I am only human. Anyways, I thought it was a great movie and a great reminder what Jesus did for us all.

I am sorry I don't know all the religions, I know the more common ones but could you explain what a Lutheran and an Agnostic beliefs are??

Is the Agnostic were you don't belive in any holidays or heaven or hell?? I thought that was called something else. If I am wrong please correct me, like I said I really don't know what it is so don't take offense if I got it totally wrong.

An agnotic believes there is a higher being but they don't necessarily believe in God.

The Luthren religion is a spin off of the Catholic religion. Martin Luther started the religion because he did not believe that rich people should be able to buy absolutiodn while the poor man had to be punished for his sins.

I was raised Luthren but married a Catholic. My three children were raised Catholic.I had no problems with this since both religions are similar. I learned the Catholic religion to teach my children so they could
get through their sacraments. To me as long as you believe in God and be the best human being you can be nothing else matters. I say my prayer's at night and thank Him everyday for my family and health. If more people believed in Him our world would be a much better place to live in!

I wouldn't exactly call it a spin-off. There are many differences in Lutherans and Catholics. And Martin Luther actually started the whole Protestant movement, from which there are many denominations now.

I am a Latter Day Saint...

Mormon... So is my Husband and his other three wives... lol ;)

Just kidding... I've heard all of the jokes..

Its a great story so I'll tell it... We are converts, not raised Mormon, but not converted in quite the way most would think.....

My daughter was 6.. She had experienced a lot of loss on her fathers side of the family (my husband is her step father since she was 1 year old) And after funeral #3 she started asking me about heaven and god and where her grandpa was... I was not raised with a stich of religion so I had no answers for her.. I shrugged her off and changed the subject every time it came up...

one day she came running into the kitchen and yelled out, "Mommy, Mommy!!! The TV has a DBD!!! Its about Jesus!!" I was a bit taken back.. But she was very excited! And she went on to tell me that "It has the answers!!! It is going to tell me about God Mommy!!! And its FREE!!! All you have to do is call" So I told rolled my eyes and told her that the next time the ad came on to let me know... and she told me that she had the number! That she wrote it down!!! And sure enough.. in crayon... on the back of my electric bill.. she had the 800 number... So I took it and threw it aside and said I would call it later.. and she protested.. NO! You have to call now! I was really getting annoyed now.. so I grabbed the phone and dialed.. It was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!!!! The White Shirt Mafia!!! Oh no!!! So I gave them my address to send the dang tape! and then came the question that would be the deal breaker!!! "When would be a good time for the Missionaries to come by to deliver the Video and speak to you and your family?" What??? was she kidding?? Come by??? NO!!!!! Mail it!!! My daughter said noting about anyone coming by!!!! So I told them that this thing was not for me!! It was for my 6 year old!!! And she insisted that they would just drop it by... So I gave in and gave a time...

And the visits began.... The first visit was just two missionaries and my 6 year old! And it lasted two hours!! lol And they left dazed! She had talked their ears off and asked questions they were not prepared for! So they asked if they could come back and Katie begged... So I said sure... And I started sitting in with her... And we started attending, and when she was 8 she was baptized... and a year later my husband I were too....

A six year old child converted our family... My husband would have nothing to do with it till Katie decided to be baptized and then he started to pay attention... and I can't tell you what a difference it has made in our lives...

It has strengthened our family so much. I am so thankful that we have Heavenly Father in our lives. Brian and I plan to have our family sealed in the temple and would also like to be remarried and sealed to eachother. We did not have a proper wedding, so it would be nice to do this eventually..

I think that no matter the religion as long as you do good with your life and your goal is returning to heavenly father someday, and your living a life that will make that possible.... you can hold your head high no matter what label you give yourself!

I'm Proud to be a Latter Day Saint... Even with all the Jokes.... Heck, what I wouldn't give for a few other wives... There sure is plenty of housework to go around! ;)

Very true, but the Luthren religion is very close to Catholic and the reason he started it was as I stated.

No other denomination is as close to Catholic as the Luthren.

Actually Episcopals are closer than Lutherans. Lutherans and Methodists are very similar.

I am a Christian, who strives daily to obey God's word. We all know it is a difficult road and satan is there to tempt us every minute of every day. I am a member at the Church of Christ.

My own feelings about being agnostic..

An agnostic isn't sure about the existance of God/god, but is open to the possibility that god/God exists. I myself do believe in a higher power...not God/god.

Thats what I am also. I believe there is something, just not sure what yet.

When you believe in God you have a good retirement plan that comes a long with believing and when you dont, what is it that you have??? Why not just give in and take the offer.

He's waiting for you.......

My best friend prayed for me for 8 years, I was very stubborn, I was judgmental of all Christians and I did not want to be one of them. I was a hard case to crack. But all the time I was resisting God in my life I could feel him trying to win me over.
I am so glad my friend and God did not give up on me.
