I failed my road test :(
 
I couldn't believe it! I've been driving since I was 16. Everyone tells me how good I am i've even driven to airports, the end of the island, through traffic, and tight streets.

So I went today to take the test and i'm doing so good then the jerk cause thats what I have to call him says parallel park behind this car..i'm thiking ok I can do this..so I start parking and I was a little too far out so like everyone else does I go and fix it. I fixed it and I was lined up with the cars infront of me and he opens the door and goes..oh your still too far out. :eek: I was thinking..why did he have to open the door to see I was too far out why didn't he just look in the mirror like he expected me to do? and when he opened the door he didn't even let me see how far out it was. Which I doubt it was very far unless he wanted me to park on the curb.

If you fail parallel parking which I shouldn't have, its automatic failure. I was sooo mad and I threw a fit lol like usual. Didn't get me anywhere but atleast I didn't walk away with any regrets.

:( now I get to wait another month before I try again.

oh I'm so sorry to hear you didn't passed...parallel parking is very hard...I lived in florida for a few years when I was young and took my road test there...you didn't need to know how to parallel park....to this day I still can't do it right...just keep on practicing I'm sure next month you'll have your license

Oh man, that sucks! Well practice up on your parallel parking for the next month! And I'll hope for you that you don't get the same jerk for a tester.

Sorry you failed but things happen for a reason. This will make you a better driver in the long run. Practice your parking and good luck next time. Practice makes perfect.:) Carol & Buddy:aimeeyork

Don't worry! you'll pass it next time! I know parallel parking is hardddd. I live in Florida and like jager said, I wasn't tested on that. The test was sooo easy, but now, if in some place I have to parallel park :eek: it takes me soooo long!!!!

I failed my very first driving test at 16 yo, due to the parallel parking -- like you, I wound up with a driving evaluator that made things worse. But now, many years later, I too, live in Florida and do not have to do it. Maybe that was fate, huh? Did we all move to FL to get away from Parallel Parking? lol!
Good luck with the next one or just come on down to Florida and join the rest of us who hate to parallel park!:car: :ip:

ooh was j/w im 16 and got my license in may but didnt have to paralell park! im sure you ll do fine next time!

That means that you take a driving test every two years???

In Indiana, we just go take a vision test every four years and that's it.

You'll do fine next time...just practice, practice, practice.:)

No, lol thank goodness! You can't get your license till your 18 or you have to take this 500 dollar class if you want to drive at 16,17.

awww shoot sweetie!!! Dang it!!! Practice!!! Practice!!! Practice!!! For the next month and you will get it!!! I hated that part of the test!!! You will do fine!!!

Just curious, why do you have to wait a month before you take the driving test again?? I believe here we only have to wait a week before you can take the driving test again.

Don't worry you will take the test again and pass it. The guy was probably having a bad day and took it out on you. Until then keep practing.

Well..I schedule it today but since they're so busy the appointment is usually pushed to next month

Awh... I'm so sorry to hear that! Truth be told... I had to take mine twice too! :rolleyes: Yeppers... Took months practicing on an automatic. Had a few weeks under my belt of clutch and stick. Took the stick to my driving test and got stuck in neutral! :yelrotflm I'm laughing now...But, just like you, I wasn't too thrilled when I failed either. I'm sure you'll pass this next time! I'm routing for you!!! :goodluck: Just keep practicing!

Sorry to hear but I bet you will pass next time! I failed the first time at 16 becasue I had very few opportunities to drive. One car, Dad needed it, parents could'nt afford lessons since I went to a Catholic school they didn't give us behind the wheel. So I was going to take the test in my dad's big yellow plymouth station wagon. He parked it and when I went out to take the test with the tester guy I backed it our and hit the car next to us! Needless to say I didn't pass. I didn't try again until I was 25 and could afford lessons, a car and insurance. I passed then!

Can you rent a new Lexus for the day when you take your next test?? They parallel park themselves...it's pretty cool!

LOL thats so weird I was thinking about that before I went to the test site I should do that next time I go I'd just make pretend my hands are moving the steering wheel lol.

Awwww, don't worry about parallel parking. I've been driving about 40 years and to this day, everyone who has ever been with me when I had to parallel park laughs at me. It takes me forever to park. I can go back and forth for 5 minutes and only get 1 couple inches closer to the curb. I did finally figure out that if I am parking in front of a store with big windows, I can use the reflection of my car to judge the distance between myself and the other cars. I really helps, cause I am always alot farther away than I think I am. You'll do great next time.

I had to parallel park when I got my license X# years ago in Florida but when my son went to get his license, he just had to pull into a parking spot. I haven't taken any seeing/hearing/driving test forever!!!:D I simply mail them the money and they renew my license with a little sticker that attaches to the back of my license......it last six years.

Sorry. :( That sucks. That's the hardest. I've been doing it for years, and I still mess up from time to time. Well honey, you just have to go out and buy that new Lexus that parallel parks for you. :D Bring that with you on the test, and you'll do great!! ;) Good luck next month.

That is awful!!! So sorry! I am sure you did good....just got someone that was having a bad day or something!!

You know, years ago when I did my test, I didn't have to do that or hardly anything else.........Wow! But of course, I practiced and practiced (in all sizes of cars and trucks)!

You will get it next time.........wishing you luck!

I failed the parallel parking test too but that didn't keep you from passing the road test in TX those many years ago.

You need to get that new Lexxus that parallel parks by itself. Now if I could find a car that could back up for me, I'd be in good shape.:)
