This is the FINAL countdown!! I leave on Friday to pick up CALI!!! :D :D :D Yay yay yay yay!!! :p I'm so excited!! I can't wait!! :D :D

So happy for you!!! I have thought about how happy you have been about getting Cali, and using it to know how happy TLC's parents are getting Izzie.

So we'll countdown with you......Cali sure is a little cutie!! Have enjoyed the pictures and videos.:)

Awwww thank you all!! I can't wait for Cali to come home and meet her daddy and her big brother and sister!! I'm sure Cali and Tia will team up and terrorize poor Codie!! :D :D hahahaha And he'll love every minute of it!! :D I just can't wait to smoooooooooch her!! :p

By the way, the day before I arrive (November 9th) is Cali's 6 month birthday!! :D :D So we'll have a little celebration for her Sunday!! I'm making turkey (I know it's not Thanksgiving yet but this is an exciting weekend hehehe) with potatoes, carrots and onions, sausage and apple stuffing (my mother's recipe), creamy mashed potatoes with garlic and chives, banana pupcakes (for the dogs) and homemade sweet potato pie and homemade pumpkin pie for my hubby for being so generous and understanding -- he really is super generous, he always puts me first and I couldn't have ever asked for a better husband and friend. :D :D

I can't wait ... I can barely stand it!!!! :D :D

Congrats....The time is finally almost here! I bet you will have a great time on your trip!!! Not to mention how fun it will to actually pick Cali up and take her home!!!

For The Plane
 
I can't bring Nutrical on the plane because it's a paste and now all liquids, gels and pastes are banned from being carried on in-cabin. So I was thinking of bringing a few yogurt drops to give her (only like 2 or 3) just to keep her blood sugar up -- what do you think? What else could I use besides that? I don't want to give her diarrhea either, yikes! :eek:

Ok so here's my plane checklist:

2 Blankets (just in case it gets cold)
Yogurt Drops (to keep her blood sugar up)
Leash and Harness
Warm Sweater w/ Hoodie
Baby Wipes (in case she has a little potty accident hehehe) :p
Wee Wee Pads

I'm sure if you have a brand new unopened bottle and if it's for the dog they might let you. I don't know what the REAL rules are. I hear about what you can and can't bring but I don't know if they are necessarily enforcing them. I'm sure if you told them how serious hypoglycemia is, they'll let you. It's not like they would keep a diabetic from having their insulin with them would they? I can't wait to see pictures of you guys all together. YOU BETTER TAKE PICTURES TOGETHER AND SEND THEM TO ME..lol

Well I called in advance and asked them and they said NO. :( They were very firm about it. But what Kat was thinking is buying those little pill pockets and putting Nutrical into them. Then I can just squeeze them and the Nutrical will ooze out and Cali can lick it -- what do you think? ;)

Ooops I forgot, I'm also bringing a bottle of water for her. :p

I am so excited for you!! Cali is so cute. Plus we will get to see lots more pictures once you get her home. It sounds like you are well prepared for the trip. Have fun and be safe!!

That's so exciting!!!! I flew last week amd they are still very strict with bringing liquids on the plane. Once you are through security though you can bring on anything you buy on that side. You may want to just pick up a sugar packet or honey at one of the food places or even pancake syrup and mix it with water if need be. ALso, Can I come Sunday for dinner!!!!lol

Ok then maybe I won't buy the bottle of water in advance ... I can always get one on the plane. That's a good idead ... a sugar packet!! Thanks! :D

Patti is right you can totally get some honey from the airport vendors or the airplane. That will do the trick for the short time.

Yea I would say just have some honey on hand. You don't want her to have a diarrhetic experience on the plane with the drops or cheerios..lol

I thought they took away the liquid ban?


I flew right after the ban, and even then, you could have taken water and they wouldn't have even noticed. :rolleyes: Maybe it was just the people on the airport, but it would have been possible.

With that being said, they did make a lady throw away her drink on the plane.

If I were you, I'd risk the bottle of Nutrical and take it with me.

WooHoo! Only 4 more days til "Cali Time"!!! I'm sooooooo excited for you. I remember way back (was it early summer) when you first posted on getting her and how looooong the wait til you could get her and look - it's almost here:):)

And I hope you realize there will be quite a few of us for dinner on Sunday - but if I were you, I wouldn't worry so much about not having enough food, I'd have security guards surrounding your home so none of us sneak off with Cali.

It was the end of JUNE!!! :D :D I've been waiting a looooong time but it's well worth the wait. :p

Well Jen, you have just confirmed for me that I do in fact suffer from CRS Disease!!!....LOL!!! I thought it was sometime around the end of May but I was off by a whole month. And yes, you have been waiting a long time but by Friday, when you have that teeny, tiny bundle in your hands and she licks your face - it will all be worth it!
