Prayers Please! My mom is going to have surgery the day before thanksgiving to have a tumor removed from her jawline. There is a 2o% chance that it could be cancer. I'm so scared! Me and my mom have always been best friends and it just makes me numb to think that I may lose her. I know a 20% chance isn't too big but its enough to scare me to death! Please pray for my mom! I'll pray, I want to share this with you to give you strength. I was tested for cancer a few years ago. it turned out I was ok. But I had to wait 3 weeks to find out! i was a wreak and then realised my life was in Gods hands not my own. once I prayed about it and realised God had a plan for me, for every one in my family... I was pretty much at peace. I didn't want to worry when I could just give it to God...So I did! I will not only pray for your Mom to be fine, but also for your family to have God's peace that only he can give!!! God Bless You and your family!;) </IMG> |

We will certainly keep your Mom in our prayers. If the odds are 20% that it is cancer .... just think about it .... there's an 80% chance that it is not!! Please try to be optimistic and encouraging for your Mom, I can imagine how terrifying this must be for her. Please give her extra hugs from us. |

Thank you all for the kind words in my time of need. The funny thing is that I deal with this stuff all the time, I'm a RN! It's just so different when it's happening to you! This forum has been the best thing I've found on the internet! I have prayed for the same for your Mom. I can relate to your being scared...and we are supposed to put our faith in the Lord, but it's human nature to let fear overcome us. I pray for you to feel God's comfort at this time! *HUG* |

update I just got back from the hospital. It was malignant. However they said it looked very localizied. They said the margins were clear but very close. We have to wait until tuesday to get the pathology report on the lymph nodes to see if it has spread. If it hasn't then she is looking at radiation to the area. I feel fortunate that it was localizied and I am very hopeful that it has not spread. I just feel like my happy life has turned into a nightmare. Me and my mom are best friends. I can't stand the thought of her hurting or of being without her! I pray on Tuesday I find out that that is not a bridge we have to cross. Please continue to keep her (us!) in your prayers! I know that I now have to just give it up to God and know that there is a plan! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and give all your loved ones big hugs and be thankful for their health! God Bless, Cindy |

Update! Just wanted to thank everyone for all their prayers! All TWELVE of the lymph nodes came back negative. The margins around the tumor were clear but very close! Some areas were as close as one milimeter! I feel like we have dodged a major bullet! She will still recieve radiation to the area and see the oncologist every several months. I am so thankful! This morning I lit a blessed candle and wrote my prayer in a prayer box my son made at church! I 'm so happy my prayers have been answered! Thanks again to you all!:) |
