My kids both do this. They have songs that play for their ringer so instead of hearing a ring you hear a song until they answer, but then my youngest either plays a song or her and her friends sing a song for her voicemail recording. To me that's annoying, they aren't that long, but it seems like it's forever, and because it's a radio, it's usally not very clear, or it's loud, or something like that. I usually end up hanging up because it drives me nuts.

However, if you like it and are ok with it, then who cares what she said and don't let it bother you. Next call please. :)
I agree :thumbup: When I used to have to do pre-screening for positions at my former job, if people had long songs we would hang up and wouldn't call them back to schedule an interview. In a prospective employer's view, it's just really unprofessional - and you can never make a second first impression.

i think answering message songs are annoying espically if there aren't any words at all on the msg. you don't know if you got the right # or not or if the phone has been picked up and the persons too busy listening to music to answer to you if we want to listen to music that's what mp3 players and radios/cds are for...jmho btw

i say change it to a normal message if you must have a song turn it down for the background not just the whole msg.

You should really reconsider the "I wasn't expecting an important call" philosophy, as the most important things can happen when you're least expecting them. Just a thought. :)
