Not a single trick or treater :( My bf and I are completely bummed. For as long as we've been together (6 years) we've lived in apts. We were so excited to finally live in a house during halloween. We were excited for the prospects of trick or treaters... But we didn't get a single one! Kona and Bernie had their costumes on and waiting. :( |
Awww.... poor puppies. It seems like every year there is less and less coming to my door. Now we have $40 worth of candy left to eat. |
Luckily my bf only bought one bag, but he bought a bag with a single type of candy. I know we'll be sick of it soon. Too bad my school recently started its wellness policy... |
Awwww....I'm sorry! Maybe next year, you will have some. We live so far out in the country, we don't have any, but we make a stop at our parents and grandparents houses and it is fun to watch the trick-or-treaters. This is my daughters only chance to pass out candy.....she loves it! My "mema" has lived in the same house all of her life (90 yrs) and it was her mothers house before. They always kept a tally of how many kids they had. Up until about 2 years (or so) ago, she would have over 100, this year, she only had about 30. Course, now, there are so many other alternatives for the kids....like, free church carnivals, school festivals, Mall-o-ween, etc. Maybe you will have some next year........Your poor babies....all dressed up and ready for some fun..........I know they were cute though! |
I had less too but I think it was also because it was a school night. Also the school had a fall festival. My daughter took her two children to the fall festival at the school and then brought them here & that was it for them. |

Our numbers were down a little this year too. 67. We normally get 80-100. Hope it's not a trend. I have good memories of Halloween as a kid. |
So sorry Kona...... we love trick or treaters, too! I think that it was colder this year and peoples lives have gotten so busy....... which is a shame. We had a good turn out.... but usually get twice as many. (I sometimes think we have had too many in previous years).......... anyway....... this one is just for you........ TRICK OR TREAT!!!!! :yay_jump: |
Aw I am so sorry you didnt get trick or treaters. We get so many that we run out of candy. I bought 6 bags of candy too |
We never get any trick or treaters but we live at the end of a long country road. I always have a bowl full of candy, just in case. But we always end up eating it ourselves. My older two loved to trick or treat but my youngest never did. He did not see why he should go asking for candy when there was a bowl of it at home. |
We had no trick or treaters here either. The town discourages it and made a big party this past sunday as for last two years. All merchants contributed candy and there were games with prizes. I took two grandchildren and it was really nice. Jessica |
Sorry Kona and Bernie (and you) were disappointed. Next year you can come to my house. We had over 150 within a little more than an hour!!! With no kids living at home anymore, I actually splurged a little and bought the full-size candy bars cause Target had the bulk boxes on sale for $7 several weeks ago!! Went through all those plus another bag of candy I bought "just in case"!!! |
We had ONE kid lol...we just moved too so we thought we would have a ton of kids at our new location...im eating jelly beans as I type lmao..someones gotta eat em!! Dawn |
We didn't get many trick-or-treaters either...I was so disappointed....my bf had about 10 come to the house before I got home from work, then I had 3 when I got home and that was it...We really went all out this year too, fog machines, music, a strobe light with thunder sounds, the house really looked great, I would have thought we would have had a lot more....and now we have so much left over candy, luckily I bought all the types of candy my bf likes cause now hes all stocked up.. |
I had to get at LEAST 200!! I bought 9 bags of candy...and ran out in an hour and, I dont' give alot either...not that I'm cheap but we have SO many kids...We live in a very nice neighborhood so EVERYBODY takes their kids here!!! Our neighborhood even made the news one year,,,,being the biggest hit area for trick or treating....nothing like advertising!! LOL. We even have cops directing the cars...Parents park their cars up and down the road and just let the kids go..Had to bring Lillie for her last puppy shot last night and bought candy on the way home so, trick or treating had already started by the time I got home...Kids were ringing the bell and I didn't even have the lights on yet! I had kids ask me for specific types of candy, how many can they have!? I remember when I went (many years ago!) I didn't care what I got! just that I got candy...Now they are asking what you have!! |
That is bad when they ask what candy you have. I didnt have that but I do have alot of adults trick or treating which irks me. I like giving candy to the kids but i think it takes nerve for adults to trick or treat |
I only had 2 little kids come this year. I was disappointed. Last year I had alot of kids. I also had alot of high school kids trick or treating. One was even smoking while she was at my door.:( Then they all threw dough balls at my vehicle after I gave them handful of candy. :( I don't know why this town allows that. My oldest son was hit with a dough ball in his face and my second oldest was hit in the leg with one. :( I am not happy about it at all and think next year we may not go trick or treating or give out candy.:( On a positive note I took my kids trick or treating and took Kitty with us. She went as a princess and I went as her servent. She even got a treat from one of my neighbors.:) |

Don't feel bad - I didn't have any either - but we've never had any at our house in the almost 10 years we've lived there! We live in the country, house sits waaaay back off the road, and it's a dark driveway til you get closer to the house. Guess they either are scared to drive back or figure no one is home. We bought candy the first 2 years we were in the house and after that, I've not bought anymore. I told people at work yesterday if I ever have any show up, all I'll have to offer them is dog treats..LOL!! Seriously, I do buy a bag of candy just in case - and if no one comes by, my boys split it. Sorry you didn't have any trick or treaters stop by:( |

Aw I wish we would have had some dogs too. I would have gave them a treat. We dressed ours up and everyone made over them. We didnt take them out though because My Daughter went with her little friend to the mall to trick or treat this year |

We didn't have very many trick-or-treaters either, maybe 15 tops? I think being a school night, being cold and lots of events over the weekend before slowed it down. It's hard to know how much candy to buy, you just never know how many are going to come. |
slowly holds out her plastic pumpkin uhmmm "trick or trat" we couldn't find hardly anyone here at all doing it they had their lights off and nobody was out anywhere except one street downtown. it's kinda upsetting because i remember getting tons of candy and lots of people doing it for halloween when i was a kid, it seems to have tapered off..my little girl loved it though ,she was wanting to run to the next house .she's 3 1/2 she walked a really long way with no fuss or problems. i just wish more pople would get into it around here. |

We had 1 trick or treater last night, ( last year we had over 200) but then we were out as soon as it got dark to take my little one..we walked and walked around here, and i noticed a big difference from last year....last year almost every house had outside lights on as if to say come knock, we have candy......this year maybe 2 in a block..and not many trick or treaters out either..... |
and guess how many i had....... zero.... none.. nadda.... now i have all that candy to eat all by myself..... yummy for me..... i guess cause i got home at 530 and it was already dark out,, who knows.... |
I think I had a tolal fo 6 kids come to our house. I took my daughter out trick or treating, and I noticed hardly anybody had there light on. I would guess 2-3 houses per street had lights on. Some even had decorations, but nobody was home to give out candy. I feel the the tradition of trick or treating is fading away, due to society issues (i.e. child predators and crime). Which is really sad and tragic. |
I didn't have a single trick-or-treater, either!!!!!!!!! I brought my candy to work today to munch on myself and share with co-workers. |
I took my daughter downtown where all the businesses/merchants were handing out candy. It was really nice but there were soooooo many ppl we spent alot of time waiting in line. I left Adam at home w/3 bags of candy and we didn't get a single kid! More candy for us... My daughter did get a couple big candy bars (jackpot!). :D |

Its our 1st year with no trick or treaters!! We have always lived in the city and loads knocking the door but now we have moved to rural France we had none!!! |
We have a lot of trick or treaters every year, but I knew since last week that I was going to work late last night and my husband has school on tuesday nights, so I didn't even bother on buying candy, I knew we weren't going to be able to hand out candy. It stinks b/c I has requested off or a least get off early on halloween, but we are short handed that I was asking for an impossible at this point. We haave a pretty good crowd every year. I have ran out of candy a few times. I guess because there are a lot of young families in our neighborhood. |
