Don't feel bad I didn't get any either. I live in apartments but still  I was a bit disappointed but oh well. Coco was in her piggy costume just waiting but nothing, so we had fun together. |

Its funny. This is my 2nd halloween in my apt. Last year I had my 2 nextdoor neightbors come. I left a pumpkin full or candy by my door and went out for the night and came home and it was full (nothing was taking). I wasn't expecting anything different this year. My little neightbor came and offered me a treat (after she got one from me) and i set up my pumpkin, put it outside and went out. I came home and it was empty except for 1 reeses peanut butter cup(my fav). I guess am not sure what to expect for next year |
Our neighborhood really gets into the fun of the night. One home sets out a table with a coffee urn and treats for the dads (who are out walking and gossiping as the kids run from door to door). The moms usually stay home to give out the treats as the dads insist now to take part in the yearly gossip fest..lol. This was the first year hubby didn't go out as I wasn't feeling well so he had to give out the candy. Poor Topher didn't know what to think and barked like crazy when the kids came to the door. Usually people come to our back door but last night they came to the front, so he was a bit confused, I guess. I think we had about 60 kids at the door...and it was a cold, wet and windy night. |
We only had 5 trick-or-treaters the whole night and the big bear at the front door scared the stuffing out of the lady bug. I had to show her it was only a statue before she would stop crying and come up for her candy...poor little lady bug.:ladybug: I was going to cover the bear in a white sheet so he looked like a big ghost but after I thought about it I decided that probably wasn't such a good idea! |
we had about 50. a slow year for us. we compete with a town halloween party.... plus it was a school nite. we were finished at 7pm. tons of candy left over. i'm ok because i buy the candy i don't like. lol.... |
We only had about 6. Kids just don't trick or treat like they did when we were kids. It was a big deal thing when I was growing up. |
I took my kids out to trick or treat and my partner and i were noticing that every year there's less and less kids enjoying this day and were in Cali. We only when around two blocks an the kids got there bags half way full  ...Way to much candy for them... |

I'm still soooooo exhausted from Halloween! I went to my son's preschool and helped out, he got tons of candy from them. After that we went to the square for merchants trick or treating. Then his daddy and grandpa took him out for a little bit to go trick-or-treating while I stayed home to pass out candy. I think that because the school and merchants do so much (and it's safe candy) that many people don't take the little ones out to trick or treat anymore. There have always been horror stories about people messing with candy. It's so unfortunate. I really love Halloween. We had LOTS of trick-or-treaters. There were tons of teens though. There was one group that had about 7 girls with grocery bags, not one was even dressed up! I gave them candy anyways, I would hate one of them to do something bad to us. I just think it should be more for the kids. Also, many kids didn't say thank you. :( I guess a good idea for some of you guys who want trick or treaters... put some special bags of candy together for your friends or family's kids and ask them to stop by for something special! After trick or treating every year we always stopped by family and friends houses (after calling ahead) to show of costumes, visit, and of course for treats! At least this way you know you'll have someone coming. Another thing is about decorations. People assume that if you have your house decked out for Halloween you've got candy. There is one house who has made prettymuch a haunted house in their front yard every year. It's so much fun that we make sure to go to it every year! |
WE don't get ANY trick or treaters at my house... in my neighborhood my kids ARE the trickertreaters. Nobody but retirees for like a mile each way... LOL.. they all wait for my kids to show up each year:p It's actually kind of nice:) So then we go down to the school district and prety many kids around there. I will say that I noticed a definate downturn since we moved here 5 years ago. THEN almost EVERY house had lights on but now maybe lik 25%. This year it was surprisingly warm and no coats needed so I think that is why it was a better night:) |
There was several houses all decked out for halloween with pumpkins and etc lit up so we stopped but they all turned my kids away saying they weren't giving out candy.:( |
