3 Attachment(s) Here are some pictures of stuff we bought.... We have the complete bed spread and everything w/ it and the dressform (black w/ black wood stand). We were told to go w/ tan or cream walls......this way, if we painted the walls pink, you kind of have to stay w/in that pink color for all the accessories. So, I think we will go w/ a neutral color wall (which will go w/ the bedding) and all all sorts of pink colored accessories (not having to stick w/ one shade of pink). ---plus, other colors too! Attachment 76878 - found this set of pillows (2 small, 2 large) at a consigment store (4 for $24.95), they are cream color (looks white from my flash) w/ tan backs. - These might go in the sitting area. Attachment 76879 - 2 metal wall art pictures...cream w/ hints of light pink and black...bought at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off....which made them ONLY $3.75 each!!!! Attachment 76880 - black satin hat box w/ light pink satin ribbon (inside is pink satin). This was bought at the consignment shop where we found the pillows....the hat box was ONLY $3!!!!! |
Sounds really cute. I searched last week for Paris accessories and came up with TONS!!! You shouldn't have a hard time at all if you aren't doing strictly pink. But I do have to say......she needs a pink poodle in there somewhere! |

Regarding the pink poodle......she is hoping for a black one! Really!!! She toys wth the idea of a female Yorkie or Poodle.......she just has to talk her Daddy into it!!! I'll keep posting pictures and definitely post when it is finished....might be awhile, but it will get there! |
Definitely....stick to light pink...that is very French when mixed with black...avoid the hot pink except for accents here and there....otherwise you risk having her room look like a Victoria's Secret store. |

Oh no........  we don't want that for her room!:( Her daddy definitely wouldn't like that.....at all!!! Thanks for that.....I do think the light pink will look good and then a splash of bold color here and there. |

My opinions, and nothing more. For over the bed, I would do black. The bed skirt is too shiny for the bedspread, I think it will take away from the elegance of the bedspread; I would do something heavier and less shiny. I would use the lighter pink as my predominant pink and use touches of the brighter pink in pillows and other accessories. Brights are extremely hard to match where lights you can get away with more shades in the color spectrum. Different tones of brights tend to fight each other and you might not end up with the look you were after. Hope that makes sense to you. I would go with light tan walls and if the sitting area is in an alcove or something, you might consider painting that area a light pink. I love the chaise and all the accessories and pillows you picked out. Love the shoes and the whole look of fashion, it flows beautifully with the bedspread. Then again, I have worked in the Fashion Industry for my entire career, so I might be a bit biased. If you have a Burlington Coat store near you, they have some great accessories in the exact look you are going for. You must be having a blast I love decorating. Doing it with your daughter whom just happens to have great taste is an added bonus. Have fun……… PS I will admit I did not read the entire thread, so if I am being repetitive, sorry |
We do have a Burlington Coat Factory in Tulsa (it is about 2 1/2 hours away), so not too far. We might need to check it out. The bedspread came w/ a heavy textured bed skirt that we are going to use and we did also decide NOT to paint the walls pink...they will be a tan or creamy color. We also decided to go w/ all light pink w/ maybe a few brighter ones thrown in (just depends). The bed will be in an alcove, but do you think it will look good w/ the walls painted a light antique looking pink w/ the bedspread there? Thanks for all the advice.....look forward to hearing more!!! |
It would look very pretty as long as you can find a pink that would flow well with the color of the “creamy” walls, and of course pillows with pink accents on the bed. If you want a contrast wall for the alcove you might want to consider a deeper tone of whatever color you choose for the walls. At all paint stores, they have cards with 5-6 colors on the same card that are in the same color hue. Whatever you decide I’m sure it will be lovely….. |
Will you come do my room? I'm so jealous. My store looks like a thrift store :) nothing goes, but it's all functional. LOL |

We are really over doing it in her room....she is 12 and growing up fast. We wanted her to fill girly, but grown up and classy too! Luckily, she has a good eye for what looks good.....now, only if we can get it together where it looks good! |
