I am so glad that your daughter is doing better!! And of course I love the name Savannah.....that is my newest furkids name. Anyway.....about running a daycare..... I ran my own daycare for 7 years. I started because I wanted to be home with my kids as they grew up. I thought what a great way to have the freedom to be with your kids all day and be able to do things with them at school, doctors appt, etc. Wrong, wrong, wrong. If I ever needed a day off my DC parents whined for weeks. It was hell for them to find alternate daycare or god forbid take a day off to watch their own kids. I had similar policies, I got paid when they were not there, giving them 1 free week a year. After all it is your income. Many of my moms would whine about missing their kids and how I got to see them walk for the first time, talk for the first time, etc. Some of my kids didn't want to go home at the end of the day. But when the parents got a day off guess where their kids were. My house. I didn't care because I always had kids there but they whined about not spending time with them and when they had the opportunity they did not seize it. It was a 14 hr a day job. With all the cleaning and preparing for the next day. I had parents take advantage of me too. Just know that you are spending the time that you need too with Savannah and if they find other daycare there will be others that will appreciate you committment to your own children and theirs. It is a hard job that does not pay enough. God Bless you for loving others children when they cannot. Many appreciate it a few do not. I think it is wonderful that people love their jobs and want to work, but just appreciate those that are willing to take care of your children for such a minimal wage. It is one of the most important jobs around. Sorry so long. I had to put in my daycare 2 cents. Good Luck with Savannah. She is your main concern now. Money is nothing!!!! |
thats so true and im really starting to realize how some of my dc parents are...yes i get to work at home but i still cant just go and have lunch wih my daughter whenever I want.....im getting tired of the dc thing. I love the kids but this whole week has made me realize some things. NOW SEE if I could get 8 orders a day for my dog treats..just 1 pound per person or my belly bands I could quit daycare!! :) HINT HINT!! HAHAHAHA:D :D |
