I have always struggledfinancially but my faith and willingness to pull through pervail. I clip my cupons, count my pennies and blessings...........I have always had enough thanks to the man up above. I pray that your hubby has a good job til he retires! Good luck sweetie. I'll be praying for your family. |
I know how you feel, in may this year my partner lost his job, and it was a brilliant job. Luckily he is clever and only 24yrs old, so he found something else after a couple of months. Those couple of months we struggled on my income, we went without but learnt that money doesnt really make us happy. we made our own entertainment as we couldn't afford to hit the clubs or cinema, we started going for long distance walks, reading and doing some volunteer work. All of that made us happier than spending money and made us better people. You will manage and will just have to cut back until your hubby finds a new job. Keep your chin up,i know its hard :) |
I completely agree Yorkie7 (sorry I don't know your name). My family used to have money and we had so much fun. Then my BIL did some illegal things and landed himself in hot water, using our money. Now my parents and I have to start from zero and it's hard. I don't get that Starbucks that I used to get daily, or the manicures, hair highlights, weekly shopping. I just had to cut back and now I'm living paycheck to paycheck and so are my parents. But we're trying to find joy in other ways, and in others things. It's really hard, and I pray everyday that I get call backs from other more higher paying jobs, so I can help myself and my family.Hang in there, it does get easier. |

I truly do hope everything works out for you and your family. No one deserves to lose their job and the things that come with it. Keep your head up! Things always work out in the end; if it hasn't worked out yet, then it's not the end. Best wishes:) |

Thank you all for your kind words. I was kinda deppressed yesterday, maybe I'm worrying too much and you just begin to wondering a lot of things. Today is the meeting with that big shot guy and we'll see what happens. I hope, and I really wish that something good happens not only for my family, but for all the other families too. I have faith that something good is going to happen today. Thanks YT family, I want to tell you all how much I love this forum and how much I love you all. I don't know the faces, but I know the hearts  of ya'll and at the end that's all it matters. Venus |
just want to wish you all the best, and know it will get better.. i feel very fortunate for what i have and i dont take it for granted....thank god... god helps those who help themselves |
I have taken alot of things in my life for advantage, thru the years. Didnt mean to, just did. But one thing that has always amazed me, is the kindness people bestowed when it has no benefit to them. Sharing thier stories just for the simple caring or sharing for another person. You could have all the money in the world but if you dont participate, you will never know that pleasure. One pound of pleasure is worth one ounce of kindness. .............. How much does that that cost? .............not a dime. The truth is nice people finish FIRST> |
Thank you ladies for all your words of encouragement. Well, I'm glad to let ya'll know that the company is not laying off people and that in fact, they are bringing work fro other places to Houston and they are going to start preparing the next bid for another big contract related to the one they lost but, different project, so there is work for a very long time.:D :D , and of course I have learned a huge lesson, I'm going shopping for what I need not ffor what I want. I'm still going to spoil my babies and hubby and myself of course, but I'm going to be more conservative and do it only every once in a while, because what is more important, and that nothing can buy I already have it, LOVE, my husband's and my babies and my family's love.:D |

I'm so glad things worked out well for you and hubby. Sometimes, it's these stupid major scares that help to put things into perspective. I grew up in a single-parent home that was far from wealthy or even comfortable. There are so many little ways to save money that really add up... You can be frugal in some ways and not feel guilty about spoiling yourself and your family every once in a while. |
