UN-FREAKING Believable! This is unbelievable!!! Beginning this month (JULY '06) a new database will be available to the general public free of charge that displays your personal information (names, addresses, phone numbers, birth dates). (Soc. Sec. is available for a price.) The database is found at http://www.zabasearch.com type in your name and check ... you'll be SHOCKED as I was! I urge you to forward this email to family and friends. Check to see if your name and information is in their database. If so and you want it removed, send them an e-mail at info@zabasearch.com to request it be removed. I do not know how our names are appearing there, but I checked my own and a few other random ones and they are all in this database! After opting out by email, check back after a few days to make certain your information has been removed. If it has not been removed then file a complaint with your State's Attorney General. |
Thanks Kimberly, omg I don't want everyone to have my birthday, and a map to where I live, thats too scary.....:) |
OMG! I can't believe that!! Although, it might help me find some relatives that I've lost track of....hehe |
There is a link in that post but you get an automated e-mail back. You have to submit in writing and ask to have it removed! When you receive the automated e-mail it gives in details the info that they want in order to get your stuff removed! :thumbdown |
omg what happened to the privacy laws???? |

BIG....THANK YOU!! |

At least children's names aren't listed! |
It looks like they are getting the information from property ownership paperwork. |

But thank God the kids names aren't there...Thanks for the info..I will be writing them a letter. |
I just want to add that this is not a joke.... like that one a while back that you typed in your name and it showed a picture as you as a monkey. This one gives real personal info! Thank god I live in Canada and I don't think there is nothing like this yet on us here. |
I tried to have a few family members info removed..got the automated response. Well, this is very interesting... |
well, I didnt find mine on it. |

I don't think they got it from property ownership... I've never owned any property, and they have listings for me throughout all the places I lived while going to college...and I moved around to different parts of the state during college. This is HORRIBLE! How can information like this be so available?! :thumbdown What is the e-mail that you use to e-mail them? --- Nevermind... I see it now. |
It gets worse....if you click on your name it will show people related to you and THEIR AGES! |

I'm in there, but my birth year is wrong (2 years younger, hooray). I've lived in El Paso for almost 16 years, but it even has my two previous addresses in another city and another state. I did put in my daughter's worthless boyfriend and not one piece of info. came up, of course. It could be useful in buying a Yorkie from someone you don't know. I love all the information available on the web, but there really has to be a line drawn somewhere. This is definitely an invasion of privacy. You can also go to reversephonedirectory.com and put in a number and obtain a name and address for the number - this is scary with all the weirdos out there. I wonder if they have to notify you if someone pays for more information then just the addresses and phone numbers????? |
Has anyone thought about paying to see what inforamtion they have? they say you need to tell them all the information you want deleted. I want to make sure that I give them only what they have... |
wow!!! |

I don't get how this is legal. |
It makes me feel kind of sick, esspecially with all of the identity theft going around. Our personal information shouldn't be made public for a fee, esspecially without our permission. I think it's discusting how they're making money off of us. Think about it, what if someone found a creditcard in a small town with someone's name on it? All the person would have to do is look up the name + town and it would give enough info to go nuts with the credit card on the internet or even have a fake ID made. |

Anyone know a good lawyer to help get that site shut down? |
WOW, it listed my entire immediate family. This is truley scary. I've tried hard to keep hidden from a crazy ex. Hopefully he doesn't ever realize he can find me for $9.95. Pretty crazy! WOW |
Wow, this is crazy and makes me very angry!!! Luckily my name is not on the list, they have someone with the same first and last name but the middle name is different. I hope I never have my personal information displayed on that site.:thumbdown |
It truly is awful...however, it isn't the only site where you can pay to get this info. Such a shame! |
YAY we weren't on there!! |

unbelievable! I was on there, along with wrong addresses also, but the information that was correct, made me very mad. Since I have had a stalker in the past. I pay to keep my number & address out of the phone book, now this. |
i used this site well over a year ago and got this info for someething I needed to look up. it isn't a new thing. Also, I belong to another site about obesity and if you have ever posted under your real name it shows up on google. |
