Acne Just wondering if anybody out there uses Benzeclin(sp?) I couldn't BELIEVE it the first time I used it???? I been waiting my WHOLE LIFE for this stuff and finally here it is. I almost cried after the first night the results were so amazing. By the way... It's very expensive and prescription ... but let me tell you... during my teenage years I would have sold pencils on a corner naked to get this stuff ,had I know of it . OMG all the TRAUMA I could have avoided:thumbup:   |
Is it a pill or a cream? Just curious. When I was younger my dermatologist gave me some cream and it really didn't do anything for me. It was just more uncomfortable than anything. |
Glad you found something that works. Do you get actual zits or little bumps that never seem to fester up? I have the little bumps on my chin. I am 34 years old and never had acne problems until about 5 years ago. The dermatologist prescribed me a cream and an oral antibiotic. He called is adult acne. One more great thing about getting old. Neither one helped. The cream just made my chin dry. |
i still have some scars from those dam pimples i picked...glad i only get 1 once in a blue moon.... i wish i knew about that stuff years ago |
Did your dermatologist prescribe this?? If so, does any health insurance cover it?? Oh and is it a pill or cream. At the moment I have adult acne, I never had acne all through high school. However, I was on medicine for a health problem and the benifits of it was that it cleared up my skin and kept it from getting bad. I just went off of the medicine this year, I was on it for over 5 years!! So now everything is screwed up and I have started to get acne for the first time. I am really intrested to know about this product. What a sec, is it BenzaClin?? It is cream that you use. I got it from my dermatologist but I have only been using it for a little over a week. It drys out my face some, not as bad as some products I have used. And it is just now starting to clear up my acne, very slowly I may add. My dermatoligist said it would take 3 months for it to clear up completely. How long did it take you before it cleared up?? He said if I stick to it, I will all clear up. I guess I am just impatient and what some magical product that will get rid of all of it right away. But if it really works like you say, I guess I will see how it goes and continue using it. After all, like I said, I have not been using it very long to give it a real chance. I hope this works!!! |
Have any of you tried ProActive? I was lucky as a teenager.. My breakouts were few and far between, but when I was 20, I started breaking out as if I'd just hit puberty (mostly in the chin area). It was embarrassing for me, so a couple years ago I broke down and bought ProActive - figured I'd give it a shot. I've been using it ever since and it really DOES work - I noticed a difference within a week - full results after 2 or 3 weeks. |
My kids tried Proactive and it didn't do anything but bleach out the good towels that I had told them not to use. :( I'm going to call my daughters dermatologist about this miracle cream. :D |
Didn't work for me. Neither did Retin-A, accutane, tetracycline, tretinoin, Clinac , Renova, spironolactone, benzamycin, erithromycin, ethromycin, cliacyn, clindamycin, minocycline, benzite, ETC ETC ETC. I've tried them all including Pro Activ. Any other suggestions? :D |

Stewies Mom, I searched for a "cure" too. I was in my early twenties when I started breaking out. I tried everything that the dermatologist recommended. What changed for me was reading all cosmetics literature from Paula Begoun. She has a skin care line too which helped my skin tremendously. I did go on Accutane and I know longer had the major problems of cystic acne. Please consider reading one of her books. Her products are fantastic and they keep my skin pretty clear. |
Kristy, Have you used Tazorac? My Boyfriend had really bad acne and he had tried almost everything that his dermatologist prescribed.. he even tried that proactive stuff and it didnt work, his was pretty bad, but after tazorac you could never tell.. his face is so clear.. you might want to try it if you haven't already :) he used the tazorac (its a topical cream) in conjuction with minocycline.. he noticed results after first 2 weeks, then after a month it was totally gone. he's off the minocycline now, and just on tazorac once a night, moisturize and sunscreen in the morning.. and he's a happy camper :) |

My "tween" daughter has used everything over the counter and then Differin (sp) a cream from the doctor, some face pads, etc. None of these worked. She is on ProActiv now and it seems to help. I am curious to hear about the new things too. Oh, we have used some natural stuff: like honey (yes, plain ol honey). You put in on the spot (at night) cover with a light bandaid and it is gone in the morning - I'm not kinding! It really worked on hers. BUT these have to be the ones that are "festered" up. Honey is a natural anti-bacterial. We also used tea-tree oil and tea-tree oil products, those seemed to work too, but we didn't like the smell. My daugther is wanting to buy one of those new laser (zit-zapper) things. They are always advertised in the teen magazines and in the doctors office. It is some machine you can buy and do the heated laser on your spot and it is suppose to speed up the recovery time super fast....anyone here heard of that or tried it? |
I've always had trouble with my face. I've got some Differin that really works & I like it, but it makes me dry out BIG time, so I don't use it unless I've got a really bad one. I tried ProActive & it worked, but made my face really raw (looked & felt like I was wind chapped). I could only use it for a couple of days at a time & then had to quit. Now I'm a consultant for Arbonne & am using our Clear Advantage. It compares to Pro Active, but I find it to be a LOT less harsh. (and no, I'm not jus saying this because I sell it...it REALLY does work for me ;) ) I've been using it for a couploe of months now & my face has really cleared up a lot. |
my boyfriend recommends www.acne.org if you guys are interested.. its a forum just about acne and stuff like that.. |
