Do You Guys See Any Yorkie? (Breed Guess!) 4 Attachment(s) Well, my little Cannelle is quite a mystery. She was originally sold in a pet store as a Maltese/Chihuahua X, then the rescue I adopted her from said she was mostly Maltese except for her colouring (I do see some resemblance between her and my Maltese), and then my trainer said she sees some Yorkie. So I was hoping you guys could tell me if you see any Yorkie in there (I don't think I do, but I don't know much about the breed!)! So...what do the experts think? Thanks! (P.S. I tend to go crazy with pictures...) |
Adorable would be my guess? Funny meeting you here! ROFL |
Ok,I am going to put my foot in my mouth but there is a tiny resemblance in the first picture and the legs are short, sooooo :D Whatever ,you have a winner with little one. |
dunno about yorkie...but welcome to yt anyhow! Great name, two of my favorite life sustaining essentials. |
I don't see any Chihuahua in her, but she could be a maltese/yorkie cross or maybe a maltese shih-tzu mix with her coloring. The only thing I know for sure is that she is a cutie pie! ;) You can go crazy with pictures of her all you want here, we definitely don't mind! In fact, we insist on picture craziness! :D |
1 Attachment(s) I am 100% sure she has maltese in her, and maybe a little yorkie ..here is a picture of my yorkie/maltese there is some same likeness...(not color):D |
He looks alot more like your first pic when he is shaved down, he wasn't in that pic....too much hair...:) |
Well, I definitely see Maltese, not Chihuahua, maybe Yorkie, who knows. She is very cute though. What happened to her eye? It was only going back through the pictures for a second time that I even noticed it. |
She is so adorable! I don't know, to me she looks a little like a Yorkie in her face and I'm not that familiar with Maltese. Whatever she is, she is a cutie for sure.:) |
I don't know, but she is adorable! The first thing I noticed was her missing right eye, because I'm blind in my right eye! The first thing I thought was "poor baby, she's got the same problem as me!" She might bump into stuff occasionally even when she's older because close-up depth perception can be a little off when she's hurrying along. I am constantly bumping into the right side of doorways when I'm rushing, and I've been visually "challenged" since 1992 so it's a problem that doesn't go away. So, give her lots of love and don't be alarmed if you see her bumping into things when she's playing--just make sure there isn't anything around that can be harmful to her if she bumps into it. :) |
what a cutie pie! Does Your fur baby have a story. It sounds like she had a ruff life before she found you? ses lucky to have you :p |

What a cutie! The face shows some Yorkie features. However, when she shows a LOT of attitude, steals your heart right away, is funny and kissy then she is definitively Yorkie. :aimeeyork |

LOL I wear glasses too. I even have bifocals! I have a prescription for my blind eye, the same prescription I had in 1992 but I had the bifocal presciption in the right side so I wouldn't look "wierd"--the bifocals with no lines don't work too good with me so I need to use the kind with the line, and I didn't want a line across only one lens. I like to look "even!" :) |
Yes, I see it in the stance. |
I think she might have some shih tzu in her.. She's very cute! :) |
Hmmm....this is a toughy! Well, I don't know! lol. I definitely see some Maltese, and maybe some Shih Tzu and Yorkie in there, lol (her ears and the way she is doing her mouth in the very last picture TOTALLY resembles that of a Yorkie!)....and I know this is going to sound crazy but JUST in the first two pictures, her BODY hair looks almost like it has a Poodle type texture to it! However, I definitely DO NOT see ANY Chiuahaha. Who knows! We have a mixed breed ourself and have absolutely NO idea what she is, LOL. But just as everyone else said, regardless of whats in there, LOL...you have a TOTAL CUTIE!!!! :D |

I agree. I definitely see the Yorkie in her stance, and the ears and the way she's holding her mouth. Like Stedmansmommy, I don't see any chiuahaha, but that's just me. But I do think there's a good chance she has a bit of poodle in her. Either way, she's adorable...she looks so loving. I didn't even notice her eye at first, because of her sweet personality that shines through in the photos. :D But there goes that old adage...it's not what's on the outside that counts...it's what's on the inside. :) ~Marly, Shylah and Brynna |
1 Attachment(s) Thanks for all of the suggestions and replies, everyone! Yeah, we don't see any Chihuahua in her, so we weren't too sure. I hadn't thought of Shih tzu though, we don't see many similarities between her and our Shih tzu X, but then again, we're not too sure what's in her either :D. I think I was secretly hoping she did have some Yorkie in her, lol, I've always loved the breed. I do some similarities between her and your Maltese/Yorkie X, peanut! I hadn't though of Poodle though, so that's interesting! Regardless, she's our perfect little mutt :D. Quote:
She has a bit of a story when it comes to her eye. Well, she was originally purchased from a pet store by a lady with a two-year-old. The two-year-old was, well, a typical two-year-old, but Cannelle wasn't adequately supervised when they were together so she was dropped, kicked, etc. Moreover, this lady thought that the way to train a dog was to, well, hit them. So whenever she did anything that the lady didn't like, she was hit (this made housetraining her very difficult). Anyways, I guess this method didn't work so well because, at 6-months-old, she was dropped off at the vet's to be euthanized...just because the lady "couldn't train her". Well the vet couldn't bear to euthanize such a sweet puppy, so he called a rescue I foster for. He said that a volunteer there fell in love with her and wanted to try to take her home for the weekend but, if it didn't work out, he was wondering if the rescue could take her. The rescue said absolutely and if it didn't work out, to call her and she'd pick her up on Monday morning. Well she did get a call on Monday morning, but it was from the emergency vet. Apparently this volunteer didn't feel that thinking was important, so she plopped her in front of four large dogs who I guess thought she was a chew toy. They went for her immediately...her cheek completely shattered, her elbow was dislocated, and her eye actually plopped out. She barely survived, but her screaming saved her (it caused a dog who had her by her neck to spook and drop her when one shake would have killed her instantly) and the volunteer rushed her to the vet. My little trooper pulled through and the vet tried to put her eye back in, but it wouldn't take and had to be removed for good. Well, the rescue called me and asked us if we'd take her. I thought they wanted us to foster her so I agreed and asked her how long she'd think it would be for. She then told me she hoped that we would adopt her. We weren't looking for a third dog but, well, as soon as we saw that face, we couldn't say no. Like you said, ginnysanchez, she does have some trouble getting around. She's better than I thought she would be, but she does bang into stuff every now and again. Of course, she either doesn't even notice or she looks at me as if to say, "Geez, did ya HAVE to put that there?" and runs off all happy, lol. I was hoping to do agility with her, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to...I'm still trying to see. I wouldn't want to compete with her, but just do it for fun. My other two can't for several reasons, such as luxating patella (worse than Cannelle's, but still not bad), hating the outside, etc. :p. Mocha, my Shih tzu X, would be great at it (that dog can run and jump!), but she's not very sociable and I don't know if her recall is reliable enough. Panna, my Maltese, wouldn't enjoy it at all. With Cannelle, I'm concerned that, because of her lack of depth perception, she might not be able to see something well and injure herself. She has gotten the hang of catching hacky sacks though, so she is making great improvement! Thanks again for the input! Here's the picture that sold me... |
She kinda reminds me of the Snuggles bear! She's soo cute! |

OMG the poor puppy, that's terrible :( I'm glad she has such a loving home now to make up for the crappy way she's been treated as a baby |
She's a cutie! I am so glad she found a loving home with someone as nice as you!! |
what an awful babyhood--thank God she has you now! |
What a sad story but with a happy ending! God bless you for giving her the home she deserves. And this face IS Yorkie... no doubt about it! |
After seeing that last picture of you holding her...she definitely looks like a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie cross) to me! |
4 Attachment(s) Thanks for all of the replies! I'm actually the lucky one to have her :D. She's such a sweet girl...I mean, if that had happened to me, I'm sure I'd be depressed for ages and would refuse to do anything. Cannelle, on the other hand, has overcome so much, progresses every day, and she always has that famous Cannelle smile on her face. I love that baby :D. I have to ask...do you guys see any Yorkie in this girl? She was apparently a Bichon Frise/Shih tzu X, however she's surprisingly small for that mix (8 lbs.). We pretty much just refer to her as a Shih tzu X...but do you guys have any ideas? By the way, her name is Mocha, she's my firstborn :p. |

Definitely Shih-tzu something! Maybe Shihpoo? Both of your girls are adorable! We love all the pictures. :) |
