Oh ohhh....that doesn't sound right - When you go to the program - Click Run - & it will open -

IF something isn't working right - try UNinstalling it then rebooting - then downloading and installing it again - it's a VERY small little program and window

LOL ! You're too sweet....I remember learning how to make avatars and stuff - I pulled my hair out for a week but figured it out. IF, back then, I knew about programs like these - I'd have caught on sooner & kept all my hair :)

i downloaded the animator.. I can't get it to open any images??? I've tried to drag and drop and open a file.. won't work for me.. doing something wrong???

Ok - Try saving a few pictures in GIF Format and they'll open - Since this is a GIF ANIMATOR - then it only uploads Gif Pictures -

Making a GIF is easy to do - in your Photo Editor you can use the SAVE TO WEB Function to save a picture as a gif file - or SAVE AS and you normally would and look for the drop down menu - USUALLY you have the option to save as a JPEG , BMP or GIF file - So if you're trying to make say....An Avatar - Crop your pics - save them as a Gif File and they should open ok.

I have an animation program I can email you - this one you can use jpegs with -

I'm having a super hard time trying to resave some as GIF... I did it with paint and it really messed up the colors horrible..

Aha - I always refer people to PIXRESIZER but here is a FREE site you can size pics right on the NET. It looks SUPER easy - http://www.picresize.com/

AND YOU CAN SAVE PICS AS GIF FILES HERE

Avatars look better cropped ...but for easy sizing pics for posting - without a download - I just sized a pic and it was simple-

I downloaded the programs and will now try to figure out how to use them.

I have Picture It 2002 and that is what I've used for making my avatar, but I've only figured out how to do just pictures. What program or how are these beautiful avatars that have names and all the other little tricks being made? :)

GOOD for you !! I have MS Picture it and use it all the time for Captions....

I use Photoshop Elements for Animating Avatars - Val (passionfruition)makes really cool avatars and she uses Photoshop - she's GREAT at that program - (I suck at it lol)

and some people use Jasc Paint Shop Pro w/animation. That USED to be offered free on a site - but whoever took over Jacs said no more bootleg free versions since Corel took over - I check all the time to see if they make it available again.

and I think a few people are using the ULEAD Gif Animation I emailed around - if you want to try it send me your email address. A friend shared that with me a long time ago and I'm happy to send it to anyone who wants to try it WITH directions.

I agree! Or maybe the HUMANITARIAN AWARD! She's great and ALWAYS has time to help someone.
