I'm really worried about what's happening in the Middle East.
 

It seems as though something like this was inevitable, but the possibility of war if frightening to me. I'm not intending this to be a political debate, only of people who are worried and do not want war. I have been following the Iraq war and the missiles in N. Korea. I pray for peace.

I'm with you. The only way to bring peace is to pray for it. War and/or more weapons will never result in peace. Remember that peace begins with each one of us.

When I start to think about it, I get that sick feeling in my stomach.:(

im not trying to get any one scared or anything but today one of my
co-workers mention something about Israel or some town around there has declared war yesterday morning he also said that this was predicted on the Bible which is a sign of the world coming to an end..He kinda freaked me out
so i called a couple of friends and said that they heard the same thing...So just wanted to ask you guys if anyone else heard anything about that???:( :(

I cannot quote the versus in the Bible but I believe a huge war is predicted in the Book of Revelations as a sign of the world coming to an end. I don't however believe that it will happen soon, because there a lot of other scripture in the Book of Revelations that have to happen as well. I am sure someone else with more knowledge will know more.

I just wanted to add that it is a very scary time over there, and I feel bad that innocent people have to die. My prayers go out to them and their loved ones.

We have just completed a Bible Study on the End Times, and it is not looking good. Although I really believe this will settle down. If not, we all have to go sooner or later. Personally I had just as soon go with Christ coming back as I had to die a natural death. Either way I know my destination!
I do feel for the people that are directly confronted with this uprising especially when it's not something they can not control.
We all need to continue in prayer. God's people is the only thing standing in the way of everything collapsing. He says if we humble ourselves and pray, He will heal our land. So, let's have faith!

Y'all are scaring me. I talked to my dad about it, and he said that in throughout history, people always thought they were living in the "end of days", but it was never true.

I try to ignore the situation in Israel, only because it is the place the Bible mentions in Revelations. I am scared, because it may be a sign. And I am in the Army Reserves, so I am really scared of being deployed again, I don't like leaving my family.

Now is the time for faith that whatever is supposed to happen will and god
will see us through it. Our leaders are all power hungry and I beleive in time we the people of the world, the majority will not stand for this and will find a means to peace In the mean time lets pray that god gives our world leaders a heart for thy neighbor and a brain to see what there doing.

:thumbup: I so totally agree with you...Our "LEADERS" should try and send there loved ones to defend our country so they know how it feels, for people like use that have a beloved one othere serving the country...:(

I am frightened too. I have a nephew in Baghdad, and my best friend's two sons (19 & 21) joined the Marines last year. My friend is so scared she keeps having hypertension attacks, and her doc can't keep her pressure down. It's awful.

I hope to everything that may be holy that the citizens of the US will unite and say NO WAY! WE cannot be the police for the whole world. We need to take care of our OWN!! Think of all the MONEY we are spending on this!! If only we could take HALF of it and use it to feed, medicate, and educate our people!!! THEN we would be a super power again!!

i agree with Rae Rae but me & hubby argue iver it all the time when we see things on the news then i ask him how he would feel if his sons got drafted they are 13/15 but if things keep going you never know and he just informs me that usa has too many troops all over there won't be a draft uh ok then so i guess he doesn't actually want to think what may possibly happen!! i just hate to watch the news anymore as daily something really bad happens ! it makes me very upset and confused!

I'm soo glad whenever I hear of more people who feel the same way I do, it makes me feel like I'm less naive when it comes to politics, bc politics is something I really don't get at all, lol.

They've been bringing up the draft through-out this whole war. Some people say it won't happen, others say it will. I just say "never say never". not only that, but what if his sons WANT to join..he can't stop them. I know soo many people who still want to join the service regaurdless of the war. One of my closest friends just joined the army and is now in Germany. It scares me soo much to think of him going to Iraq, but he isn't scared at all.

And its true theres people that are not scared to die for our country and its ok WHEN its for a good reason NOT for someone elses war (Bush) you feel me...Specially for ""GAS"" like i said b4 i would rather walk for miles than to see my bro. and cousins out there fighting "HIS" war....:mad: :mad: :mad:

And what really pisses me off is that the USA has tons of oil!!! And look at all the oil-alternatives...by the time this war is done cars aren't going to require gas anymore!

WWII was started mainly because Hitler began taking over countries and threatened the security of the other nations in Europe and Asia. The US did not become involved until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor which the Japanese has an alliance with Nazi Germany and Hitler. As for the war in the Middle East they have been fighting for hundreds of years as long as Israel has been an independent country. Israel has always been in some way under attack from the Palestinians whether it was physical or verbal. Both groups fundamental religious beliefs are different and this has caused the rift. I don\'t believe that the US should get involved in this simply because this was not like WWII where there really wasn\'t an equal playing field it was mostly Hitler and the Italian leader Mussonlini going around around bullying countries. WWII was not a religious war but more of a we want to rule the world War. However having said that I don\'t think that it is right that the Israelis or anyone for that matter are not able to live free from terror. I pray for all of the people there and hope that things will settle down.

I apologize if this sounded like a history lesson, I just don\'t want people to connect our involvement now to WWII.

If there were no religions, what would the world be like??? I sound like John Lennon, but it is something to ponder.

I am not saying religion is bad, I am Roman Catholic, but the root of so much violence and war is because of religious differences.

The root of so much violence and war is because of religious extremists & radicals. However on the flip side I think the root of acts of kindness can be attributed to peoples religious faith as well.
