Peanut ....WOW is right ! He looks fantastic and good for him! Now THAT's the kind of thing that motivates people - like Hollywoodyorkie and her WW loss - I met a woman on my new Nutrisystems board that's 51 years old and WOW ....if you saw her pictures you'd FREAK :p she should be doing the Nutrisystems commercials - So I know if we really work - we CAN do this.... and Yorkieangel - I noticed after New Years - I tried for 3 months to lose 20 lbs but didn't give up the diet sodas - and you are so right - they PREVENT you from losing. I'm down to 1 a day and hope to keep it that way. |
Thanks, I tell him all the time he lost a person, which he did...He has been doing great he has only gain about 5 pounds but now that he is lifting weights it muscle. He would kill me if he knew but I wanted to give everyone a different ideal that works and too I wasn't going to post my pics...lol :D |

Why is it that men lose weight faster then us?! Quote:
Oh, my DH uncle did the Subway Diet - you know, Jared from the Subway commercials?! - he actually lost weight and pretty quickly with it. He bought a footlong and ate half for lunch and half for dinner just about every night. I'm not in town every day to be able to do that, but again, men seem to lose weight easier then us. I had a friend who ate spicy stuff (like salsa or certain spices) with (and on) everything - no matter what it was or when it was - and she lost weight doing that to. I LOVE my spicy stuff, but I don't think I could handle eating it every day, with everything and all hours of the day! |
Oh, today at my nephew's birthday party, my sister HAD to mention buying new clothes and mentioned her NEW size about 50 times!!!! ARUGH! My sister is one of those people who like to brag and "rub it" in others faces over everything (where she gets this, I do not know, but neither of our parents are that way)....anyway, it just irks me!!! And I honestly think she did that knowing it would....... Now, there is my incentive to do a little better with my diet & exercise!!!! |

Yes!!!! But don't even get me started on her....now, I love my sister dearly and all, but we are nothing alike and have nothing in common - maybe it is just jealousy on her part??!! ;) But, alas, it is a good swift kick in the rump to get in gear and work harder - hey, I can out-do her, just as she can me ........right?! |
Has anyone heard of the "negative calorie" diet? It is where you eat certain (uncooked) foods (green cabbage, apple, etc), which have so few calories, that your body burns them up, plus some, leaving it at negative calories. I read an article (Q/A section) in a magazine this week (yes, while I was on the treadmill) about a lady who talked with a fellow office worker about her new diet. This lady said that you could notice a big change in the coworker (weight lose, energy, etc) and wanted to know about this "negative calorie" diet the coworker was on. The "Dr." that answered the question, talked briefly about it and said that is DOES help you lose weight rather quickly, but like most diets, it is hard to stick to (restrictive) and you will more than likely gain weight back once you go back to your "normal", but healthy eating habits. So....I googled "negative calorie diet" and read a few forums regarding diets. There were mixed opinions (aren't there always), so I didn't know if it was worth trying or not. One review said that you would be better off eating a healthy low calorie meal, with the "negative calorie" foods - like boiled chicken with some of the food items from the diet on the side. What do you all think??? |
I Need Help! Okay, I am in a rut....a pretty deep one that is getting deeper by the day! I have been VERY good at watching what I eat, drinking lots of water and walking and/or working out. BUT here lately, I just haven't been motivated. I guess it has been this past week. I had wanted to work extra hard this week after my sisters lovely comments about her size, etc (see a few posts back), but it hasn't worked. Do you think it is this HOT weather??? Or maybe my daughter being gone all last week? I can't just not do anything! Today, we did my daughters PE tape and it was fun, but only lasted 22 minutes and it did get my heart pumping! :( I think I am getting burned out! I have been working hard since Jan of this year and lost a lot of weight, but have more to go....I know it is probably normal to hit this mark and feel this way, but...ladies, I need encouragement and some new ideas. PLEASE HELP!!! |
Hey there ...I've been reading the Nutrisystems boards - they seem to love a cd called Turbo Jam and a member here says it's one you don't get bored with - have you looked into that one ? and on the motivation - YOU CAN DO IT !! I know you can - I've been reading on the NS boards and some of them have been doing the plan for over a year - A lady I talk to just made it to the Top 5 finalists for 10 GRAND ! You should see her - I have a link I can share - she shows her before and after and I swear - it's amazing. Keep drinking water and I found that eating ONE hard boiled egg per day helps when you get hunger pangs....I'm doing really good - Day 11 and I've lost 5 lbs already. New years - It took me 3 months to lose 6 lbs.....now THAT sucked ! Have you tried posting on a weight loss board ? I really enjoy it even though I only want to lose 25 lbs - It's really motivating to see people melting away |
Thanks for the info and the PM! You are AWESOME! I actually tried the hard boiled egg, everyday, but that was last year - I may do that again. My problem really isn't the eating part (okay, I still eat what I want, but I do watch calories, what I'm eating and how I am eating it and cut things in half, etc)...it is the lack of motivation to exercise. I have heard of that DVD, thank you for reminding me about it! There was that one and some bootcamp fitness one that is suppose to be good too. Someone mentioned using a new equipment (gliders) or something like that - you stand on these discs and glide to your exercise! I think maybe that is what I need....a change in my exercise routine! Thanks for EVERYTHING!!!! |
LOL You can do it - look what you did already....and can we say ...STRING Bikinni ? :p :p ps...What color is it ? |

I just bought I cute, but cheap one to give me incentive to LOSE WEIGHT! Man, I hope that works with everything else I am doing!!! Oh, it is a super-soft suede like material that is has a tye-dye look that is brown and tan. It is the triangle top that has an itty-bitty string to tie around the back and neck and the bottoms (they are full coverage) adjust and tie at each hip. I do need to get some more sun though! My husband about died when he seen it - not on of course, wouldn't want to completely gross him out! :D I'm hoping...HOPING....to get down to the size to be able to wear it! Speaking of....I think we are at the same weight and have the same weight goal! That is cool! Good luck with your NS program! The forum looked great - I will let you know if I decide to do that or not. I just think I need to get motivated again into losing weight with exercise. ---although, I am still tempted to see the doctor and chance the other side effects of taking a pill. Don't know though! Have you had any with yours? |
