Pole Dancing Classes
 
OMG can I just tell you how freaking hard this class is!!!! I've been taking exotic dance classes (basics, intermediate and advanced) with some girls at work for exercise so tonight we started pole and I swear I almost fell over after driving home!

So if anyone ever thinks of this as good exercise let me assure you it absolutely IS! I just hope I can walk tomorrow! :)

OOOOOoOOooOoooo! Pole dancing?! if you needed some extra money girl, you could of had a lemonade dance! ;) :p but hey, whatever it takes to look good!:cool:

You didn't mention the dual benefits of pole dancing, beyond exercise there is always the possibility of a second career, you never know?:D There can be some big money in dancing, I've watched HBO, the market is there!

It is great exercise and if you enjoy dancing, a lot of fun. How do you practice at home, do you have a pole?:D

I wish they had a pole dancing class here. That is so hard to do and it builds muscle too. I saw this one stripper climb up a pole about 20 feet in the air and then slide backwards, upside down, sideways all the way down. It is hard to explain exactly what she did, but I thought I was at Cirque di Soleil!

P.S. I was at a strip club because it was Mardi Gras, it isn't something I regularly do.

I was looking into taking those classes also. They have some down in NYC you can take. Till then I'll be doing my Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease videos. LOL

Well, take it from a former stripper (yes my secret is out) it is very very difficult to learn the pole. But once you get the hang of it it is soooooo much fun!! My favorite trick, swing up to the top, wrap my legs at the top of the pole, lean back and swing myself downwards down the pole. Hard to picture huh? I've been to many stripping competitions in Las Vegas, and man let me tell ya, there are some darn good girls out there.

Keep it up, it's great exercise, plus, how many women can say they know how to work the pole? LOL

That is SO cool!!! I want to take a class like that! Where do you go to take that? I love doing the carmen electra aerobic striptease....and yeah it's dirty but it's SO much fun. Well, it's not so dirty but gosh it's embarassing if I forget to close my blinds, haha!

Well I'm pleasantly surprised at how good I feel today, that means it will hit me tomorrow I'm sure :)

Val, I saw an ad for it in the paper here, it's held at a dance studio in Albany. There are 20 people in the class!!! It's too fun, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

And as far as hanging upside down and sliding down the pole, give me a few more weeks (haha)! If I could do that I'd reconsider my career :)

I would like to try this...I believe it is offered in my area. Do you have to wear a thong to workout?:D Cuz if so i'll have to pass. No seriously I think my hubby would pay anything for me to to there! I wish I had a strippers bod!

My husband would LOVE for me to do something like that but I am too shy. I would love to shed my inhibitions and go for it. Did anyone catch that episode of King of Queens where Doug gets Carrie to go to the classes and she does it so bad he doesn't have the heart to tell her? That was hilarious!! :D

oh rats i misses that one... i would of died laughing cause that probably
would of been me..... id be all over the place except on the pole, meaning
the floor...im not good at those things... im very shy when it comes to that stuff..

so for all of you that do the Carmen electra Strip Tease Videos..... Do you really like them??? Are they fun??? Are they really a good work out>>> Are they hard??? And do you need any special extra stuff to do the moves???

I am so thinking about getting one of her tapes.... I am really close to my goal weight and could use some toning and need to firm up a bit... I basicly need to get my a$$ moving off the sofa, out of the computer chair... and moving! lol

I wish they had a pole dancing class somewhere around here! It seems extremely fun! I also miss my toned body i had when I done Ballet for 13 years. :( Now i'm getting lazy. (laughs)

For the link I posted I believe it's in Long Island. But I'm sure they have classes in NYC also.

LOL you're so silly Kathryn! I enjoy the dance workouts. Although just like Val, I feel a lil' awkward if I don't have the blinds closed! :rolleyes: You don't need any special equipment either. I think it's a good way get in touch with your sexuality and feel sexy while learning some dance moves. I recommend it.:thumbup:

I saw information for those classes on TV before. I've heard it's an amazing workout. Good for you! A fun and unique way to keep fit. :thumbup:

I've been debating on these classes... I've also heard they're super intense. You're going to have a killer butt and thighs!
