Wish me luck!! In about an hour and a half, my boyfriends parents/family are coming to my parents house to meet. We've been dating about 8 months and we didn't want to take the next step until our families meet and we can see their interaction. I just hope religion and politics aren't brought up cause those are always bad subjects to start off on..lol..I just hope they all get along and like each other so say a little Prayer for me and Robert so everything will go well..Thanks everyone. I can always count on YT for some blessings.:D |

I so hope this meeting works out for you both. Talk about stressful, yikes!You might remember, if they don't just get along great, the times they will actually be together would probably be minimal. And, if they both love their children (as I'm sure they do) they will certainly try to get along. Who knows, they may end up being good friends:D |

Best of luck!!! I remember when my husband's parents and my parents met (2 days before the wedding haha). Everyone was polite and talked about the weather. I am sure you will be fine, but it is stressful. I still get stressed out everytime they get together, but somehow it always turns out to be just fine ;) |

Oh wow! Good luck! My boyfriend and my parents met for the first time 2 years after we started dating (bit of a geographical distance). Everything seemed to go really well then I found out his Mom thought my Mom seemed standoffish (sp?) and was trying to show her place. Eeeeeks! Hopefully your meeting will go much better! :) |
Oh my gosh that could not have gone any better!!!! My dad and his dad it turns out, knew each other from childhood!!! Our families got along so well and not even pretending. They even made plans to go fishing/camping together in a couple of weeks. His parents invited mine to their house (2 hour distance drive) next month. Wow thank you so much for your prayers and well wishes, IT WORKED!!! Rob and I couldn't stop grinning. We're both very close to our families and it would have been dificult if they hadn't gotten along. OMG what a relief I'm so excited!!!!:D and of course Coco loved it since she got rub downs from all the grandparents and her daddy and auntie :p and she got plenty of watermelon |

Congrats!! I wasnt so lucky, but I have now been with my hub for 24 years and it has never been an issue.... Its a great thing to have a close extended family! My brothers wife is the sister I never had and her parents are Me Maw and POPPA to my kids, that is a great feeling.... good luck! d |

Ok so I just found out my boyfriends mom called my mom for recipes and chit chat..is this ok? I mean it's normal right? I guess I should be happy and not over think it. I hate thinking when it's too good to be true it probably is. I'm sure they will gripe about each other at some point but I'm just happy they are not right now..lol..that's a good sign. |
