Alright...sometime last week, there was a dead baby bird on my side walk (that leads to the driveway) and it's head was gone (happened during the day).:eek:

Sunday, I opened the front door (going to see my mom) and there was a dead dove. I'm guessing it was chased by something and ran into my glass door, thus, killing it.

Today, on the sidewalk in front of our house, a larger bird with it's head missing.

Either someone is trying to do a voo doo hex curse on me or something is killing these birds and only eating the head.:confused:

Hubby says it might be a possum...but they don't come out during the day and it would probably eat just about everything...not just the head.

This also just reminded me of when we lived WAY in the country and had a litter of barn kittens. Heard a bunch of fuss going on outside and upon inspection, there was only one kitten left and the other 3 were in the yard with their heads gone...but it was during the night...not like with the birds.

Do any of you know of an animal that just eats the heads?

That is really wierd! I have never had an experience quite like this one! I hope that you figure it out soon!

This board is becoming obsessed with dead animals lately...wonder who brought this on?

I am sorry the witch in your office is now casting voodoo spells on ya, Kimberley....ya should'da whacked her when ya had the chance.....

On the barn kitties...have a theory. Tom cats will kill kittens sired by other tom cats. Momma cat will not go into heat when she has babies....so the Tom will kill her kittens, she goes into heat...presto, bingo...new Tom cat kittens. Learned that on the discovery planet ;)

I thought the same thing about the co worker, when the word VOODOO came up.. Look for voodoo dolls at work..Not having any pains anywhere are ya?:cool:

My Grandparents have a farm and say that racoons will eat the heads off birds and small animals - who would have thought? I figured racoons only ate berries and fish. To double check, I googled it. But I heard that owls and hawks could do the same thing and sometimes a oppossum or fox. But it looks like a racoon is probably the one doing the damage. :(

nah...feel GREAT! I was just kidding about the voo doo part. I don't think they practice that in these areas! LOL!

Blue Jays aren't canibalistic, are they? Hubby also thought this...:confused: I told him he was crazy!

A possibility...but during the day? when I found the baby bird, it was not there earlier when I had originally walked up to the house...it was about 1 1/2 hours later when I left that it was laying there...about 6 in the evening.:confused:

I know blue jays are MEAN, I see em outside screwing with my cat, swooping down real low, dive bombing him,, they are mean!

Yeah, blue jays will eat other birds babies....that's why all the birdies gang up and chase 'em. Really.

We have racoons....no headless animals here. Our racoons prefer cat food. The cats prefer birds.... eating everything BUT the head and they don't seem too fond of wings...not much meat on wings, ya know.

I have seen them dive mine so hard...kitty flips OVER. No kidding. And it always p-sses me off...kitty is lying in the sun....not bothering anyone and bam...bird attack. One was so persistant last summer....the cats would just give UP and come inside.

PS I actually wished kitty would've caught that bird last summer....

I'm not sure! It's crazy though. I can ask my grandparents and see what they say.

On the documentary I watched....they FILMED the Tom cat killing kittens. Well, not really....they panned out of the barn...Tom goes in....some crying and screaming...then quick shot of dead kittens. That was awful...poor kitty babies. I think they could've just TOLD ya that Toms do this...no need to LET him....:mad:

I would say it is a cat leaving you presents. My male cat does this with small mice and moles etc..yes, I think a bird too...and they all have the heads eaten off, most of the time. Do you have a cat? Or cat friend around?

I don't have any cats and in all honesty, you seldom see cats in my neighborhood. We're all dog lovers over here and the YORKIES! There are several yorkie owners just on my block.:D

Kim. Get a Voodoo Doll and rip the LEGS off it - maybe that will stop whoever it is from walking around your home leaving headless creatures .

If it's the woman from work - pull the hair out too.

I have a feeling it's racoons ....that's so gross something only eats heads...my cats used to do that but If you swear you have no cats - you may have a coon in the area and they'll come out at night

Tta is so weird just this past weekend when I was walking the girls a house about 5 houses down had 2 dead baby birds on the driveway, they did not look real young as they had fur. Then I mentioned it yesterdayto the neighbor next to me and she said her kids had found 2 more but the heads were missing. Today when I walked the firls Cali found one with the head missing they all look the same type and age. I thought maybe they were baby ducks because they weren't so tiny. The neighbor said that there has been a hawk sitting on her fence lately. So maybe it's hawks. It is so creepy!

That is so gross. And weird! I have no idea what does that?! I had a pet bird that lived outside in a cage once and one night a fox was able to bend the wires and ate my pet bird :( I'm scarred for life for what I saw that next morning!!! But alas, Andy (my bird) still had his head.

OK Kimberley....CALL OFF YOUR VOODOO PRIESTESS....found a dead baby bird on my deck yesterday. He did NOT fall OUT of a nest and with all of 10 feathers he didn't fall out of the sky. He did, however, have all his body parts. :rolleyes:

Interesting dead animal talk here lately.

Bchgirl, maybe you have discovered a bird who just died in flight. The one I was looking for a few weeks ago in my I wonder why post.

PS. I have a friend who is a self proclaimed witch. She gave me a spell to break the bad luck imposed when a bird flies into you window and dies.

All I remember is that it had to do with buring an iron nail and saying some chant.

Sneri...quit skimming my posts. He was a baby bird and was mostly nekkied....he didn't fly anywhere unless he fell outta a plane. :rolleyes:

We had a bird fly into our sunroom window.... bonk, splat, jumped back up, and immediately fell over. :fainted:

I have witch friends...some that really are and some that I think are. ;)

I'm not stalking you, it's just you are EVERYWHERE (not going off topic of course). So you have witch friends too???? Mine is forever doing spells for one thing or another. I would hate to get on her wrong side.
