Awwwwwwwwwwwww....HUGS to you all that didn't have a good day ! Even back before my husband got sick - he never did anything special for mothers day - I learned thru the years do NOT expect anything from anyone - that way you aren't dissapointed.....but both my sons both gave me sweet cards & phone calls. My oldest even gave one to MY Mom cause she helped so much when they were little and I was single.....He made her cry the card was so sweet...THAT made me so proud of him. To those who had a not so great day - HAPPY MOMS DAY FROM YOUR little Furkids ! Our children may NOT do what we hope they will do - but as they get older - believe me - they'll start appreciating their moms. |
This is so sad, I'm so sorry any of you had a bad Mothers Day.:( Mothers should be cherished and appreciated everyday of the year, and especially on Mothers Day, I hope my Mom feels appreciated, I'm gonna have to ask her... |
I didnt get any gifts or cards, but my oldest daughter and her friend made us Supper, she made, Steak, mashed potatoes, pasta w/ peas and carrots and made the table all pretty, it was very sweet of her, I told her, now that I know you can cook like this, you can cook more often LOL But of course she didnt want to do the clean up LOL |
Well I am usually disapointed in my Mothers day but not this year. My 5 yr old Daughter made me a handmade gift with her hand on it. My Son got me some roses and My Husband took us all out to dinner. So it was just good being with everyone. My Son came home frrom College for the weekend so it was good just seeing him. He has a new job and wont be home again untill July. I am sorry to anyone who had a bad Mothers Day. |

I had a good Mothers Day. I didn't do anything, but I was alittle sick with a stomach bug. I was offered a Sunday drive or a trip to a local craft fair or whatever, but I stayed home. My husband has a '68 Camaro that he is trying to finish up for a car show this weekend, so I wanted to give him that extra day to work on it. I didn't mind because I stay home and am free to go places (although weekend trips with him are way more fun). I did get some nice-thoughful gifts too. I didn't clean or anything, but that was mainly because I couldn't be far from the bathroom! The day before (Saturday) was our decoration day (when our family visits the cemetaries to clean and place flowers on our loved ones graves) and we have a small family reunion. I drove my parents and gave my mother her stuff when we got back to my house. Her Mothers Day was spent at her moms and his moms, so she had a long day. I am sure that all of my aunts and uncles were at both grandparents houses - she didn't get back home until after 5pm! |
My Mother's Day was spent making curtains for my Mother In Law. She decided to work that day so I had a chance to sneak over and measure her kitchen windows and make the curtains for her. Dewaine went over and hung some vertical blinds that she had been fighting with. She lost two very close friends this year and her favorite niece a couple of weeks ago so she was very depressed on Mother's Day. She is 73 and we are really starting to worry about her health and state of mind. But she did seem pleased at what we had done...she cried a lot tho. Dewaine took me out to eat steak around 4 p.m. He did not get me a card or anything...said he could not find one good enough for me! Yeah right!!! My son was busy with his wife's family most of the day but did come over around 6 p.m. with a gift, card and my grandson! That was the BEST gift of the day! :p At the beginning of the day, I started having a pity party for myself...I was thinking about my mother that I never got a chance to know since she died when I was 3 and about my two oldest sons from a previous marriage that don't speak to me...but then I started thinking that I had so much to be thankful for...and I snapped right out of it!!! I am sorry some of you did not have a good day...when you feel like that, just turn it around to see the other side and how much you DO have to be thankful for...it will brighten your day when you do that!!! |
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that was disappointed. For all of the past years, I've always gotten cards, small gifts, etc. This year, my kids wished me a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY and my husband didn't say crap. Nothing, nada (says a lot, doesn't it?)! It hurt really bad and I'll admit that I cried. To think of all that mom's do for their families and this is the thanks we get? Well, I did finally get my mom's card...the day after! Oh, well, there's always next year. I hope it'll be better than this year! |
We celebrated mothers day with the family on Sat. I was so upset because everyone decided to come here instead of going out to eat like we do every year. Of course I protested and so did my husbands mother who happens to also me my stepmother.,,,,,,,,,, anyway. They guys promised that they would do everything. Including the cooking and cleaning. So they did hold up their part of the deal! Everything went really well and best of all the ladies didn't do a thing but relax by the pool. It wasn't till we all started playing cards,,,,, my brother in law is, how can I say this politely,,,, a poor sport. And got all huffy because he lost. I mean this guy is 28 and acted like a 10 year old child! You can't even laugh at him for acting so foolish because it will push him over even more. So everyone is walking on egg shells because he wants to act like a jerk! So all and all it was a very good day till my brother in law started in and had to ruin it for everyone else! |
