The place I went to price matched. I printed the price list off the internet and brought it in with me and they were more than happy to oblige... |
Oh how I wish I could find some that cheap!! Mine are about $120 a box and I need TWO boxes for a year!! I have to wear toric lens and since the company decided that I didn't need Sunsoft Multiples anymore, they discontinued them and now I am stuck looking for something else. I am on trial pair number three and so far they all have SUCKED!! Off to the doc again tomorrow for pairs number 4 and 5, then I'll be saving my pennies for LASIK because that is the end of the rope if those don't work!! |
Walmart is cheapest in San Diego, CA |
Here's another question... Do you guys use the national brand solution and re-wetting drops or by cheaper brands? I got a bottle of Equate solution and re-wetting and I swear my eyes burn more right after I put those in. The national brand did not burn. I guess some things you can save pennies on and some you just can't! |
I currently wear contacts. Could not get used to the bifocal glasses so tried the contacts. In one eye for seeing far away and in the other eye for seeing up close. Plus I have to have a toric lens in my right eye for astigmatism. Actually am going on Saturday for yearly exam and new contacts. Never have any trouble with my right eye but sometimes the left eye gives me trouble and seems to dry out more. I am hoping that he will try another brand in that eye. I go to eyemart and so far they have been just as cheap as anywhere else. |
Update So now I am out of my contacts for a week! I have had some sort of allergic reaction in my right eye...bumps all in the upper and lower eyelid that get irritated with the contact. So he prescribes a 5 ml bottle of drops that cost me $43!!!  They burn like crap and I have had a headache since I started using them (a side effect of the drops).   But one good thing I found out. My contacts are actually cheaper at the eye Dr. than at Walmart...so I ordered some and can't wait to get over this crap and get my contacts back! Thanks everybody for your feedback on my thread so far...you were all so very helpful!!! |
I just started my 10 year old on Contacts!! She is wearing the Focus Daily by Ceiba (Spelling???) She gets a fresh pair each and every day!!! I don't have to worry about eye infections, cleaning, over wearing.... any of it!!! The responsibility stuff comes later! Now its just getting her in the habit of in in the AM and out in the PM. She takes them out and tosses them in the trash.... A box of 90 runs about 50 bucks.... and thankfully both eyes are the same RX... so the box will last 45days... given she does not tear one or loose one... So just over a dollar a day.... We are going to do this for the first year and then talk about extended wear at her next exam. I can't even tell you what ditching those glasses has done for her self esteem! She is so much more confident! It really shows! And she is starting Middle school next year.... Perfect timing!!! I am amazed at how quickly she got it all down! At first... she could not get one in to save her life! The doctor said that she might not be ready! We left that night with Katie sobbing! We came back the next day and with two yanked and pulled... very abused eyes.... we left having managed to "coach" her, hands off, while she put them in, took them out and put them back in... it took three hours!!! lol:eek: But 8 days later, she pops them both in, in 10 seconds flat! Amazing how fast they learn! Thanks for the tips guys!! I will be calling Wallmart and Costco in the Morning!!! |
I guess the in and out part is the hardest part of learning to wear contacts. I have long nails so it was really an adventure for me! But I figured out a way to get them out with one try! My contacts at the Dr.'s office were $32 a box and that is for 3 pair and they last anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks per pair. I take them out every night. |
