Where the HECK is She? I am SO UPSET!
 

Sorry guys, but I have to vent and no one will understand more than animal lovers. I dropped my cat off at the groomers at about noon. This is MaiTai's first time going to that groomer's. They didn't even ask for her shot record or rabies proof. I remember the lady said about 3 times that she won't be ready until AFTER 6 because she was going on her lunchbreak and won't be able to start on her until 3. That was fine because she is a himilayan and I asked her to wash her, brush her and trim her. So I get there at about 10 after and the door is locked. I even walked around the building looking for someone. I noticed a sign on the door that said they only release animals during working hours of 8-12 2-6. But they run a Pet Hotel too, so I thought that was regarding the Pet Hotel.
I am SO upset. I check my cell for msgs. and went home and checked the answering machine. NOTHING. You would think they would call me and tell me what's going on right? You think they would ask if I was on my way. You think they would tell me that they are going to close up and leave my cat there. What if she was on a special diet? Mai Tai has never spent a night away from the house, she is a very skiddish girl and I am so worried. I was even worried about her only being gone for 3 hours. I will not be able to sleep tonight. I have left so many messages now. I had thought that people were there 24/7 because it was a Pet Hotel. I am POSITIVE the lady said come after 6. If she said come before 6 or come at 6 SHARP I would have remembered. God it is going to be a long night without my cat.

I would want quite thee explanation tomorrow, she could have called, that is crazy! I'd be hot.

yeah, I feel like I am going to throw up and I'm almost in tears. You guys don't know this cat.... It took her 2 years to warm up to my family to the point where she jumps in our laps. She doesn't like strangers, everytime they come over she hides. She HATES leaving our house. Somehow she knows it's time to go to the vet/groomer and she will hide. I even had trouble leaving her there because she was cowered in her pet carrier. Then they weren't even smart enough to remove their big dog that was running around. I shouldn't have even dropped her off when it was jumping at her Pet Carrier on the counter. They probably still let him jump at her while she was being brushed. I'll bet she is just terrified right now.
I feel so sorry for her. I think I am going to drive over there and put up signs on their door to call me asap. Maybe I will get lucky and someone will come there in the middle of the night. They might not listen to the messages, but they should listen if I write about a special diet that they DID NOT ask about.

OMG I would be so upset, as I'm sure you are. Make sure you let them allll know how you feel on the subject!!! That is just mean, to do that to someone they know would be frantic (any person who loves their pet!) Let us know what happens tomorrow!

That's horrible os their an emergency number since they are a pet motel?

I looked on the internet and they don't appear to have a website. There is only one number listed and it doesn't mention an emergency $. And another horrible thing. They didn't give me any paperwork when I dropped her off. They could even call me a liar if they wanted to and say they never saw her. I'm getting more worried by the minute

OMG I'm so sorry! we have a cat just like that (afraid of strangers etc) I'm sad for you. let us know what happens. and give that lady h*ll tomorrow! :mad:

Thanks guys. I think that I found the phone number to the owner. I hate to interrupt a person's dinnertime, but I'm worried about her and this shouldn't have happened.

That's freak'n crazy!!! I would call them up tomorrow and give them some major attitude! :mad:

no way. She said 3 times to pick her up after 6 and no one is answering. They have 2 numbers, one is a recording that says there is someone there 24/7 because it's a pet hotel. The other is the answering machine that I'm about to fill up.
The internet phone numbers aren't working. One ended up being a fax and the other has the same name Jackie Rowe, but she doesn't own the pet hotel :(

Well, if something is wrong (but what could go wrong with a groom :confused: ) then they should have called you. MAN I would be pissed! :thumbdown

I googled her name, but only 2 came up. I called and they are not her. Does anyone else have any other ideas to find the owner?

You really want to try something drastic? Call the cops. Tell them that you think they stole your cat. Maybe they can go over there. :confused:

I really don't even think anyone is at that facility. I walked around the building, it was totally dark. I yelled "hello" and no one answered. There were also no cars.

I really appreciate your help. I had called that number too. It is an announcement that says that they will not assist customers until 8 am. It doesn't even let me leave a msg. It doesn't mention what to do in case of an emergency either. :/

I would call the cops.. tell them she is in a special medication and NEEDS to take it.. and she is locked in there... shoot the fire dept will also help!!! DArn IT!! I am so fustrated for u!!! Shoot I would probably call the news or something too!! Let us know.. poor baby.... I hope everything is okay...:)

Yep, I agree, call the cops and get your baby back. Then tomorrow, call your local television station and have them do a call to action story on this place of business!!

ok guys... just got a message from her... she is going to give the cops a call.... keep her family and kitty in your prayers tonight!

I am on hold with the police station. I like to avoid conflict and try to solve things at the lowest possible level but I feel like I've exhausted everything. It's getting late and I just want to hold her in my arms since I dropped her off. They could have called me. And if by saying "AFTER" 6 the lady meant AT 6 when they close then they should start telling people to come at 530 so they won't come to locked doors like I did. Uck. I just want my cat back. She has to be terrified, the poor thing. If the lady would have calle me and told me then I wouldn't be so upset.

The police finally got ahold of her with the numbers they had and the owner is supposed to be calling me. It better ring soon!

I am so sorry you are having to go through this. What a terrible terrible business. They have no rights to keep your cat overnight. What are these people thinking??????? It's best right now if you take a deep breath and lay down, don't exert yourself right now (you and your baby don't need added stress). Hopefully when they get there (I mean meet you there) in the morning, your precious cat will be waiting to go home. I don't understand how in the world someone could leave knowing there was still a pet in the place. Place keep us updated and take it as easy as possible.

oops I didn't read the whole thing before I wrote. Well good call on calling the cops. I hope they get you and her sorted out. You kitty will be so happy to be home with you. What a day!!

Well it looks like some action is taking place, I'm glad to hear that! Let us know when the lady calls and what she says. That's so frustrating and you have every right to be upset! If she's that confusing I would not be surprised if you were not the first to be in this predicament.

I too have a himalayan cat (calico) and I dont know how I'd fall asleep at night without her soothing purr. :-) What is your cat's name? I'd love to see a pic of her sometime. I'm praying for your situation!

That is SO not right what they did to her! My groomer would NEVER close up and leave Oscar there! That is no way to treat your customer! Keep us posted. I am really curious to see how this one turns out. I hope there is no lasting trauma to your kitty. Cats are funny...they don't handle things quite like dogs...they seem to take it more personal. Poor Kitty and poor Cheryl!!! I hope you get a really good explanation from those people...won't matter tho...they were just wrong in my opinion.

I'm sooooo glad you called the cops! :D And I want to know how they answered the phone for the cops, but not for you? Hmmmm, makes me wonder! :thumbdown
