I know that several of you are scared of snakes but living in the country we've had plenty of snakes around. I've been known to have snakes, tadpoles, black widow spiders, lizards, bugs, and about any think else you can think of sitting in a jar or in cages on the kitchen counter. Life is very interesting here. While we have all of these things around doesn't necessarily mean that I'm comfortable with all of them. I can handle having snakes around as long as I'm not surprised by them, but my family doesn't have any problems with them. For instance, one day my daughter caught a snake and put it in a pop bottle to bring it home in. That was ok until she needed help getting it OUT of the pop bottle. She asked me to hold the pop bottle and sorta' dump it out. I'm thinking "Ok, I can do this!" but when I turned the bottle upside down the snake went to the topside of the bottle, which was the bottom of the bottle and, of course, I couldn't get him out that way. My daughter is trying to hold the bucket that she wanted the snake in while I'm "dumping the snake". Are you getting a picture of this? I DON'T care to handle snakes but I'm being a good mom and helping my daughter. Well, I finally figured out that I need to turn the bottle over and let it crawl out the opening, but the snake was a fast little snake and he came flying out of the bottle so fast.....Here I am trying not to let the snake get away, he's half in and half out of the bottle, and my daughter is still holding the bucket!! I am NOT going to grab the snake for anything!!! Well, my daughter calmly took one hand and, as quick as you please, she reaches out and grabs that snake!! She was so quick and not bothered at all. She holds it awhile and then put it in the bucket. I was so amazed by her and her actions. Well, I let her know that "that snake was not to come in the house!" But the next morning she comes to me and says "Remember what you told me yesterday about having the snake in the house? Well, Dad said I could keep it in the house and I'm afraid that it got loose."   I was not a happy camper!!!!! Just to let you know.....We never did find that snake!!! |
MICE!!!!!!!  I get the HEEBIEGEEBIES when i think of them, i will run for life or jump on the table if i see one and stay there till it's GONE! PUBLIC TOILETS... i refuse to use them unless someone i know is standing by MY door. Beside's the fear of them, i don't think they are all that hygenic anyway  BLOOD... makes me freak out, i hate the sight of it. WORMS & CREEPY CRAWLIES.... i won't touch ANY of them, the thought that my dogs might have worms freak me out, that's why i deworm them more than what i should. DARK PLACES... i like to see where i'm going. |
Heights big time: We went to the Bahamas last year and we got into a plane that was like a pack of gum with 8 people in it. And I swear to you even before we starteed to taxi out onto the runway. No wait before we even started to move I threw up twice. |

I don't remember posting on here before so -I am phobic of buffet lines- I don't like touching the serving utensils that everyone else has touched- it just makes my skin crawl!! Other wise I rarely think of germs. I also became nervous in crowds living in South Korea- it is very crowded there and the people like to shove up against you and carry you along with the tide. There is no personal space there- I didn't like that. But I can Kick butt on bugs and snakes. No one else in this family will, so the task has fallen to me. And those infamous Houston Roaches- look out cause I will hunt you down and squish you. |
Something happening to Rosi....Snakes...Heights ! |
Snakes and heights. Even baby snakes. Gross gives me heeby jeebies. Heights is worse, I get a vertigo feeling like the floor is falling out from under me. If I'm walking downtown Seattle or something, I will not walk on the grates, I go around. I'm convinced I'll fall through if I step on one. One time we went to the fish ladders. You had to walk on this see through grate type walk away. I froze and panicked. My husband not realizing how bad it was, grabbed my arm and pulled me along. I thought I was gonna die. |
Backwash I can't stand to drink the last 1/4 of a canned or bottled drink. Let alone share one with someone. All I can think of is the amount of spit that washes back into the drink. I could get physically ill thinking about it. Yuck |
I have a completely insane fear of FISH! Any fish, big fish, little fish, I won't go near the water if I see a minnow! It's awful. I gotta psyche myself up for like an hour to go swimming if I see a fish. I can't let myself look, if I see one I'm out! |
