I wish I had been on to see this. There is an emergency vet that is always open on Memorial Road in OKC near Edmond. There is also one on the S Side of OKC...as well as one in Norman... |
I am back from the vet. Dutchess had to stay at the vet. She is very anemic and has loss alot of blood. The vet is going to do a blood transfusion today. She is in great spirits but because of the severity of the anemia she can't even go outside to play. She has to stay in her crate until she is past this. I am so glad I have a great vet. She will recover but it will take time. Oh, she also still has one pup she didn't abort. It still has a heart beat but we will have to make a decision on wether or not to keep it. I think what would be best for Dutchess is to go ahead and abort this last pup. The vet is going to call me in a little bit and give me an update on her. Thanks for all the prayers |
Oh no:( ...But she's in the best place right now I hope all goes well and she gets better fast. That had to be really hard to see....poor little mommy and poor BIG mommy. GOOD LUCK with her... |

I am glad Dutchess is doing better. Prayers going her way. |
Update Dutchess got the blood transfusion yesterday. She did great through all of it. She had to stay at the vet last night. We have decided to abort the puppy so the vet has given her some meds to help with that. We may end up spaying her. Which is fine. We love her no matter what and she will have a wonderful home here with us. This has been a very stressful time. This would have been her second litter and she did fine with her first litter 2yrs ago. She and the male were both tested for burseliosis (sp?) and had eyes and hips tested. Both are healthy dogs so this was a big shock to us. Any way I just wanted to let you all know she is doing better. THANKYOU for all the prayers.-Stacie |
Update please! We are really hoping that Duchess is still doing better. Please give us an update on her if you are able...she is in our thoughts!! :big_hug: |
You should take a quick set of vitals now so you know what is normal for her. You should also take a look at how to do Animal CPR in case you need it, which I hope you don't. :( |
Update Dutchess is doing great. She is not happy with the doctors orders of restricted activity. She goes back to the vet on the 15th for a recheck. I know her normal vitals and I also know how to do cpr on a dog. I have been through some schooling on vet classes. I just didn't finish because I didn't feel that was the job for me. (I can't take the loss of pets.) I was also taught how to do cpr on a dog by a vet about 7yrs ago. He taught me one day when it came up at a vet appointment. Since then I took the vet courses. Thanks for everyone's concern. |
