I have something to announce!
 
I am leaving to Europe in 16 days!!!!!!!!!!:3plane: My lil' sis and I are traveling around Europe this summer. :2plane: I have been waiting a loooong time to tell everyone! We leave four days after my 22nd Bday!!!:cake: :cake2:

We are flying into Athens, and we are visiting a total of Greece, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands (Amsterdam) and England!! We will be gone for three months, backpacking staying in hostels and with friends and family. I am getting so excited.

As for Thor, I am really getting sad about leaving that little booger behind for three months but he will be with my parents (where we live now-at home) in the best care possible!!!! So that is a huge relief!

Oh and it gets cooler! The family that I am a nanny for is going to upgrade our flight over to business class!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!:thumbup: :2party:

That is very exciting . . .I have been to all the places except Greece and I am telling you it is quite the adventure . . . have fun and take lots of pictures to share . . .we'll be waiting patiently :rolleyes:

I am taking ALL suggestions on where to go, places you loved, places you hated, things you think everyone should do...I would love to hear about it!

omg that is so exciting! i want to travel soooo bad! hopefully ill get to some day! i cant wait to hear about your trip, we'll miss you!!

Congrats. I know that you and your sister are going to have a great time. My sister and I are not that close. She is 4 years older than I am. When we were kids she picked on me a lot and was down right mean.

Anyway, have a great time.

I will have access to a computer for email, and hopefully squeeze some YT in cause I just thought, What in the world am I going to do with out it for 3 months! Geez!!!!!!!!!!! NO YT? AHhhhh! It depends how much the internet cafes cost per min!

Paris is the best for sightseeing (that's just me though) . . just take the green open-deck tour bus and it will take you everywhere . . one fee to cover everything in 2-3 days. Thanks that is some good advise! I wish I have a lot of money to shop with my all my money is pratically going all to sightseeing and eating!!! I have England covered as that is my home away from home (grandparents), but I didn't know that is was more expensive to eat in. THe bathrooms sounds scary and I have heard that Venice is stinky!:eek: Note to self: Bring nose plug!

I can't say it enough.....ITALY ITALY ITALY!!! I was there for 10 days 3 years ago and I have to say it was the BEST place I've ever visited. Definitely go to Venice, Florence, and Rome. My favorite was definitely Venice. It's so romantic....and the gondola was amazing! Order a bottle of Chianti wine. And think of us on YT! :D

Greece is my favorite!!! My family used to vacation there. The food, the history, the ocean...:thumbup:

I've never stayed in a hostel, but I've always heard to watch out for little critters in the beds. Carry the essential oil of Lavendar with you to spray on your bedding...

Oh how WONDERFUL for you, sweetie!! You SO deserve a break from the way your life has been in the recent past!! I am so happy for you!:clapsmile

The only places I have gone over there are Germany and Austria. I spent a week in Munich a while back, and I just loved it! We took a trip to Austria to visit Salzburg because one of the friends with us is a huge Mozart fan, and that was an awesome day! We drove over on the Autobahn, and you want to talk about SCARED, lolol!! Cars zooming by at 100 mph... WHOA NELLY!!

Have an EXCELLENT TIME, and be careful, you gorgeous American you! Those Italian and French men are going to be all over you!:D

How cool for you. Have a blast and try not to stress over limited internet access. Internet cafes are generally a little pricey ($3.00 for 10 minutes) but will do in a pinch.

In Amsterdam, make sure to go to the VanGogh museum. In Paris, if you take the double decker tour bus around for a few hours to get the lay of the land, the subway is very easy to maneuver. Some of the smaller, more out of the center museums are the best like the Rodin and the Picasso museums in Paris. Eat from the carts selling on the street - the baguette with cheese and tomato is awesome!! That's all I can help with. ENJOY!

Hey Jodi, I love the VanGogh museum as well. Did you go through the red light district? I thought it was hilarious :D and even my daughter thought so!

We will be in Fowey, and Brighton (grandma and gramps) and a bit in Par, and London with some friends. I'm so exicted!! You friend sounds like she had a great adventure!!! What a good idea about the postcards!

Could I be more jealous?! That's awesome... what an experience. I have never been to Europe (although I would LOVE to!) so I don't have any travel suggestions. Be careful and have a great time. Take tons of pictures, too! I am a postcard fanatic, so I love the idea of getting postcards from everywhere you go.

I can't wait to hear all your stories when you get home!

I cannot tell you how jealous I am of you(except leaving thor behind- I am so sad for that)! I hope you have a blast and take millions of pictures!!! I have wanted to go backpacking so bad so I can not wait to see your pictures from that and maybe I can convince my husband that he needs to take me backpacking someday (he is quite the city boy, lol);)

Wow I've never been to any of those places and I've lived here all my life..... not even been to London :(
