I Passed My EMT Test!
 
For those of you who didn't know, or didn't see my siggy ;) I've been taking an Emergency Medical Technician course since January. I am currently on the Rescue Squad in my town, but I wanted to be something other than the ambulance driver :) . So I decided to go to class (paid for by the squad). It was long and grueling, but I made it through and found out today that I passed my National Test. Now I will be certified to practice in Jersey and all other states too, not that I plan on moving. :rolleyes: So, thanks for all your well wishes (Glad ;) ). I just had to tell everyone how excited I am. :happyboun :cheer: :yay_jump: :woof:

national test, huh?! brave girl! i'm an emt in north carolina, and i'm trying to decide if i want to get nationally certified. i know this is a big congratulations for you! how bad was the national test?

Honestly, it was not as hard as I thought. My teacher is the best in the state and has the highest passing rate. :thumbup: She's very strict too, which I like (I'm a teacher, and so am I :p ). We started with 36 students, and ended up with 18! Hey, if you're already an EMT, you should give it a try. One thing I would suggest is this: Buy some National EMT practice workbooks. That helped me a lot!! On the national test there are 150 questions; there were no T/F; no none of the above; and no all of the above. There weren't paragraph long scenarios to read. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't at all easy! But, 97% of the questions I broke it down to 2 answers. There were only a few that I said, "What the heck is that?" But overall, I knew we had learned everything, but the question was, did I remember it? LOL If you go onto the site www.nremt.org that will give you some info. And if you have any other questions, please ask!!!! :D

Congratulations! That’s great that you volunteer. My Mom is a volunteer EMT at a fire station and she loves it. Have fun and be careful. :)
