I just read the 'ass' story..very funny. Can't wait for the follow up email! |
This is a hoot! They deserve to be played with. I just want to say that these scams don't always work one way. If you are trying to sell something on the internet, the scammers come out in force. My friend was trying to sell her house boat and got an email from NancyHappyFamily@yahoo.com. She lives in the Netherlands or somewhere like that. Said she wanted to buy the boat and had an agent in the US to handle everything for her. I never believed it from the beginning. Geesh...don't they have boats there? But my friend really wanted to sell her boat and so we proceeded. My friend did not have internet and so I was the go between. To make a long story short, she had someone here in the states send two money orders for far more than the price of the boat. My friend took them to the bank to have them checked. Yes they were actual money orders...BUT they had been cashed in 1990 in Minnesota or Michigan...I can't remember which. So we decided to do what you are doing here. We played with her. Told her that we were sorry, didn't think the funds were actually coming and that my friend had sold the boat to another. Total indignation! She told us what a woman of her word she was and that we were awful to have done such a thing. But, no problem. She had found another boat and we were to pay the person for the boat she found and she would tell us later what to do with the large amount of money left over. We tried and tried to get an address so we could send her a cashier's check but she wouldn't bite that one. Last e-mail I sent was to tell her that we know she was a scam and that she should check to see if the person she was scamming was a government agent. She was to be prosecuted for Told her to direct all future emails to agentSells@fbi.gov:D Actually , this very scheme is described on their website: http://www.ic3.gov/crimeschemes.aspx#item-3 However, even though it seems they are encouraging you to file a complaint....when we called by phone to ask about it, they were totally uninterested. Didn't want info, pretty much said too bad. So sorry for you. That's it. Never got another peep out of her. But it was fun for a while. |

Okay, I should really be in bed, but I just sat and read through this whole thread. :D  :yelrotflm |
Somebody please start this thread back up! I was browsing through some of the old post and I came across this one. Talk about a good laugh? This is the best thread ever! I got a serious kick out of reading what those dimwitts had to say. Before I ever knew about scams like these , I was thisclose to be scammed by someone in Nigeria. I was selling a product and they offered me alot more than what I was selling it for. Poor me didn't know what to think so I went for it. However , I noticed the spelling was off so I decided to do some Google research and found out what I was in for. |

Haha! I just sent an email to that email address. Let's see what happens , shall we? LMAO! |
OMG I just had to add that I love to mess with those scammers when I am bored. But I get so nasty. When someone says they have "some" Yorkies or Bulldogs, whatever, I tell them I want the whole litter so I can breed them and make lots of money. I get that stupid reply "yes, you can have all of them, please send me money". Or I tell them that my family owns a restaraunt where we specialized in baked dogs, thus, I will need every dog they have. Again, I get that same stupid reply "yes, I can see you really love dogs, but I will need you to wire me the money as many people want these pups". Oh brother. I really don't even think they read the e-mails. |
