Good idea, Kristy! I've been a member since beginning of March 2005. 1. What was your first impression of YT? I was like "Wow, where have you been all my (yorkie's) life?" I was excited at the amount of info available and excited to see that other people are just as obsessed with their yorkies as I am mine. I still wish I'd found this site when I'd first adopted Sully! Woulda saved me a lot of silly panicked phone calls to my breeder, LOL. 2. Who was the first person that *really* reached out to welcome you, whether it be PM or some other way that you remember? Cynthia (iheartyorkies) - and then it turned out that we have the same birthday! (Oct. 25) and I also remember a PM from PinkMartini. 3. Did you have a specific problem/question for which you were looking for an answer?Umm.....puh I can't remember that far back. Probably something to do with crate training. No, wait, I think it was how to teach my dog to fetch (never really figured that one out though, LOL.) 4. How old was your Yorkie when you first found/joined YT?Sully had just turned 6 months old. 5. How long have you been an Yorkie owner? Since mid-October of 2004. 6. Did you know right away that you would be addicted to this site?I didn't know it would be THIS addicting right away, but I did join and save it in my favorites. 7. Did you make fun of members who had thousands of posts without realizing that you'd eventually be one of them?I didn't see myself becoming "one of them" but I never made fun of anyone...I just figured this site had been around a long time, haha. 8. Have you met any YT member in real life? If so, who?I've met "Angiedoogles" but only because she was my friend first before I talked her into joining YT. 1. What was your first impression of YT? My first impression was I was in awe of all of the information available 2. Who was the first person that *really* reached out to welcome you, whether it be PM or some other way that you remember? Sadly to say no one ever reached out or made me feel welcome. Shortly after I joined they had the penpal exchange and through that I slowly began to meet more people. 3. Did you have a specific problem/question for which you were looking for an answer? Teddy had multiple problems when I found this sight. We almost lost him several times that first month because at that time we didn't know there was such thing as a bad breeders who cared more about money than the welfare of what they were bringing into this world. 4. How old was your Yorkie when you first found/joined YT? 8 weeks 5. How long have you been an Yorkie owner? For 1 year and 1 month 6. Did you know right away that you would be addicted to this site? I didn't think it was possible for anything to hold my interest as long as YT has. Once you start to become familiar with the people it's impossible to stay away from and check in on a daily basis to see how everyone is doing. 7. Did you make fun of members who had thousands of posts without realizing that you'd eventually be one of them? No, I don't think I ever made fun of them. I was thrilled when I finally hit a 1000... 8. Have you met any YT member in real life? If so, who? Not yet, but hopefully I will be meeting Reneernc in August as we are both booked on the same cruise 9. Have you spoken to anyone on the phone? Who? How long have you been an Yorkie owner? Since November 2003 but I didn't know Simon was a yorkie I had to learn all about his breed 6. Did you know right away that you would be addicted to this site? OMG are you kidding? I used to make fun of internet forums and people that had found "friends" online! HA little did I know! 7. What was your first impression of YT? My first impression was that, WOW there really are forums for dogs let alone yorkies wow! 2. Who was the first person that *really* reached out to welcome you, whether it be PM or some other way that you remember? Honestly everyone was so friendly back in the day.. If i have to pick one i'd pick Natalie. 3. Did you have a specific problem/question for which you were looking for an answer? I remember with Oreo he was my first dog and I knew NOTHING about yorkies and small dogs, and i believe this was when i learned about worms and hypoglycemia. 4. As someone who'd had to rehome a golden....got wise and decided to see if a Yorkie was a better fit for our family. When Trace died....the posts and pm's really really meant so much to me. Shared them all with hubby and dd. They'd ask me...do you "know" that person. So if I knew anything about the poster...I'd tell them...their dog's name, where they lived, etc. Hubby kept telling me...I can't believe how thoughtful all these people are and you don't even "know" them. PS I knew I was truly addicted when Trace died....it was not my "real" life friends I wanted to talk to....it was rrosenberry. I didn't have her phone number.....remember thinking...I don't even know what city she's in in Ohio...I'm gonna have to call ALL the rosenberry's in the whole dang state. |

I have met yorkieusa (I have been to her house a few times), lucky's mom (when I go back home we meet up), ytsirk27 (I got my brothers lab from her, she recoomened me to a breeder laura and that is where I got Astro), bosslady(meet at yorkie meetup), dianab(meet at yorkie meetup), ehuser, and heatherw, I think that is it. Althought she is no longer on here...I would have to say Gypse Rose, she was so helpful with Magic's stomach problems and we talked through PMs all the time and have even exchanged pictures and notes through the mail. We knew very little about yorkies and we met ldenise one day and she told us all about it and how much information there was...plus Magic has a lot of stomach problems 4. Well Magic is now a 19 months, so.....I guess 19 months 6. Did you know right away that you would be addicted to this site? not right away....but not a month later I was hooked and have remained that way to this day 7. If so, who? wow, yes I have...we had a Dallas meetup last December...we met Shanatink, Muffin's Mom (no longer here), and a couple of others that are no longer on here....but we would LOVE to meet other and hope to one day 9. oh what fun! I'm 1 &1/2 months shy of a year but I want to play,,,,, 1. What was your first impression of YT? To see others with the same likes, loves and passions when it came to family and our yorkies. 2. Who was the first person that *really* reached out to welcome you, whether it be PM or some other way that you remember? This goes out to 3 members,, My very fist PM was from Val of Passionfruition. She was very helpful on sending me some information on a carrier I was thinking about purchasing. The most memorable PM was from Sylvia, of Lady of Yorkies. I will remember this always! She made me feel so welcomed and gave me some much needed advise about my niece Cherish. It was very heartwarming. And lastly, of course Villette. She has always been there for me with help problems with computer related stuff and all but I once received a PM that made me feel so thankful that I was surrounded by such caring and loving people. I won't go into detail here but it made me feel so good to see that she is watching my back. 3. Did you have a specific problem/question for which you were looking for an answer? Yes, lots of times. 4. How old was your Yorkie when you first found/joined YT? Gus was 14 months. 5. How long have you been an Yorkie owner? It will be 2 years on June 15th 6. The only person I met in person was the wonderful ladies I got Gus from. But I met them way before becoming a member on there. There are so many I would love to meet in person! 9.
