Please pray for my grandmother
 
She has cancer and is going thru chemo right now. Her spirits are really down, will you guys please pray for her?

Tell her it is vital that she keep her spirits up! Keep her happy and laughing(if possible) And she will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted! What kind of cancer does she have?

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. My prayers are headed her way. Tell her to hang in there she has tons of support! All of YT! :thumbup:

She has breast cancer and this is the first time she has ever had it and they caught it pretty early. They removed the lump and initially didnt think she would have to have chemo. BUt they ran some test that is supposed to show wether or not she is at high risk to have cancer in other parts of her body(or something like that) and the test came back as high risk so she is having to have chemo. She was incredibly depressed by this news. I am going to missouri this weekend to see her.

Will definitely keep her and your family in my thoughts and prayers!!! I pray that her spirits lift and she is given hope and peace at this very difficult time. Cancer is a very difficult and hard to understand bend in the road. We have sick ones on both sides of our family right now and your post certainly hits close to home for me. You keep your spirits up as well...she needs you.

My Gosh Shana!!! My prayers are with your gramma, what a scary time she is going through! Give her a huge hug for me when you go see her this weekend. I will be thinking of you and your family and keeping you in my prayers.

Shana, as a breast cancer survivor myself, my thoughts will be with your Gram as she goes through her treatment. She will be OK. She needs a lot of coddling and attention right now, so you are doing the right thing by going to see her. Bring her a cool hat! :p

She is in her sixties.

As I was going through my treatment, I volunteered for a research project about the effects of diet and exercise on recovery. Because I did this, I got to meet about 20 other women in various stages of recovery and with different types of cancer and incredibly different types of treatments. It makes you think about the fact that you are really lucky when you see people who are suffering so much worse than you, but are still out there plugging away. I met a lot of brave and courageous women.

Your Gram needs support and comfort at this time, and if there is a local cancer support service near her, they can be contacted to help.

And when she is feeling better, is your Gram the type of person to volunteer? She could eventually join with a local cancer support service, or something along those lines. Right now, though, it's all about her. Here's a wonderful web site that got me through a lot, and as a cancer battler support person, you would be entirely welcome there, honey. www.breastcancer.org

Shana, I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I will keep her in my prayers. Chemo can make you feel really awful and sometimes you get worse before you get better. I hope that things will start to turn around soon and she will be back to feeling good again. Sending Big Hugs to you and your family.
