What about a memorial donation for BellaBear?
 
What if some of us got together and sponsored a dog or two on one of the rescue sites? Maybe a dog that needs expensive medical care? I'd love to do something in honor of BellaBear. What do you all think? Elizabeth

I thought about that, but I wanted to let James breathe a bit and today is the funeral. He saw all the YT threads and was touched by how many people cared for her

Vain Chick,

I didn't mean to take this over! Would you like to collect the funds and choose the memorial? I know that having a project can help you when you are hurting as much as you are bound to be right now! I'm so very sorry about Rachel and her parents! Let me know what you want me to do when you've decided. I went to Yorkshire Trrier Rescue's site and there are lots of Yorkies on there that need medical help. I know there are usually some on stoppuppymills.com as well. Elizabeth

Elizabeth, every little bit of information, and suggestions helps. I appreciate your help and everyone's and would never be upset that you're taking over. I appreciate all that you all have said and done. I would love to work with you on this and get it started. It would have made Rachel very happy to know this and once we get it going, I'm sure James will be touched knowing that Rachel is being honored for this. I'm rolling my sleeves up, where do we start?

Well, I'm going to start by pledging $20. I thought we might want to contact Yorkshire Terrier Rescue and see if they would set something up on their website about the memorial. That way YT'ers can send their memorial donations directly to them. What do you think?

You know, I really feel we are all family. I love this site because we are all here for eachother for the good, bad, happy and sad. There have been a few things I have missed out on, but my heart was always there. My heart goes out to vainchick5 who has lost a very special close friend, but opened her heart and let us in. After sending Paypal for flowers, I wanted to do more, and now with your wonderful idea I can, so I thank you eensor, you have a heart of gold. Rachel will always be part of our YT Family. Very well put Gina. I e-mailed a couple of different yorkie rescue groups and will keep everyone posted on their answers. Unfortunately they didn't have phone numbers but I will keep you all in the loop.

What a wonderful idea. I am in also :thumbup: I can't think of a better way to remember someone then to help someone else out.

One other thing I would add is that both YTNR and UYR are both 501(c)(3) not for profit organizations which means any donations to these wonderful organizations are tax deductible.

I got responses from two rescue groups, and they are interested but must speak to the board and will get back to me.This is great. Thanks for your idea and help Elizabeth

That sounds great! Then YT'ers who wish to participate can just send their donations to the rescue organization directly! Thanks for contacting them!

I think a memorial for Rachel is a wonderful idea!! Just let us know where to donate and it's there!!

Please let me know where the site is. I am going to send a donation from our YT Family. Always remember Rachel & Bella Bear will forever be a part of all of us.
Our Church is having a special prayer for her family tomorrow. We are a on-line family, and our Family is strong. Rachel has her White Wings now, and she is watching us. God Bless you all. :hearts-xx

Hopefully, we are going to be able to donate directly to the site. I imagine Vainchick5 will let us know around the first of next week. She has talked with a couple of rescue sites that are interested.
