I have no clue! I do not like seafood ,much less tuna so I am struggling with the idea of a salad for lunch! yipee! what are you eating ,since meat is off the menu? :cool:

How 'bout french fries....french fries are NOT meat. Btw, fish and chicken are not considered meat either....at least by Webster's dictionary......

I am catholic and therefore won't be eating meat today :( . Just a bowl of Progresso Minestrone Soup :thumbdown . BUT, my Tiger isn't and therefore he will have his usual "gourmet meal" of Innova Kibbles, a few Innova EVO, 100% preservative free crushed beef liver and lots of cut-up mangoes (his favorite) all mixed together . . yummy! :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

wow, you don't eat meat for the whole Lent? I'm not Catholic so I don't have to worry about it. I guess that explains why there were so many Tuna on a salad in the cafeteria today!

No, we can eat meat just not on Ash Wednesday, any Friday between Ash Wednesday and Easter, and I think holy Thursday, not sure on that one. I have always been ify on the whole is chicken considered meat to catholics? Somehow it was no chicken either.

Definately NO LAMB!!!!!!!

How about what have you given up for Lent?
Mine is chocolate, which is easy, not a big chocolate fan. Sometimes I do chips, or pop.

I'm addicted to POP... i have like 3 cans a day.... so I'm going to try to give it up. it's gonna be hard! Tonight, I'm going to Fazoli's for some fettucine alfredo...YUM. i consider chicken to be a meat... the only thing i thought we could eat was fish. Good luck on everything you all are giving up (I know I'll need it! ;))

Well had cracker barrell for lunch my office mate and I were in the field today. Had to watch it with the veggie plate though. No beans and greens, no hashbrown cassroll(sp), no greenbeans, and no cornbread, all made with meat. Had baby carrots, mac and cheese, broccoli cassrole(sp), and fried okra and a biscuit. Had fruit this morning so tonight will be my other small meal.

I haven't decided what to give up but I have decided to go to the stewardship meetings, which I was made to join (can't say no to a preist when asked to be part of a church council), and not complain that I have to go...which is a very hard thing to do.

I am just now going through with the classes to become catholic so this is the first Ash Wednesday I won't be eating meat. My husband is catholic already and now our whole family will be! :D We are having tuna helper tonight! But the chicken thing I am not sure about!! I had chicken for lunch - so I don't know now if I have already messed it up. I haven't figured out what I am giving up - I think it will be chocolat though since I LOVE it!! Wish me luck! :D

Full Gospel/Pentecostal's do not observe any dietary laws and restrictions, we do not observe lent or give up things, but respect those who do and when it comes to food issues.. "if food is not involved we do not attend"..LOL

Well now if us Irish Catholic's had to give up Beer for lent we might be a bit upset, but we handle giving up meat on Ash Wed and all Fri till Easter as long as we get to have a beer with our veggies :D

I was raised a Baptist....we have issues other than food. No alcohol, no dancing, no card playing/gambling, no cussing, and who remembers what else....how 'bout no nothing 'cept attending church... the road to h-lll is paved with temptation ;)

Disclaimer - I am not dissing anyone's religion only my own. The way I see it....all of them pretty much believe in the same thing...a higher power or God, right? Just that somebody's sure gonna be surprised at the pearly gates and their verison is all wrong...we Baptist's included.

PS I am not attending Wednesday night church service either...there's another black mark beside my name in that book that I'll have to come up with an explaination for. I think I may be sick today :D

you are such a bad girl, well I ate chicken , not buy choice really... was at WHATABURGER w/ hubby and it smelled so good, was gonna get a salad but $6.00 just for lettuce , I think not, I think god would understand, I doubt he would pay that for LETTUCE! Fri no meat! I swear!

Holy cats! You're with THE Catholic and he LET you order chicken??? Your whole family is lapsed :rolleyes: God doesn't have to pay for lettuce, silly, he gets it for free :)

So we are doing the no meat, chicken, or LAMB thing but Ashes just are not fitting into today's schedule we needed to get last minute baseball equipment. Season (official practice) starts tomorrow. Talk about going to h_ll.

PS Stewies Mom not sure if the chicken in Lean cuise counts as actual MEAT!.. :eek: .So I think your safe. Sorry couldn't resist that one.
