Toys you've revisited on ebay
 

Have you ever browsed auctions looking at toys you once had? I have exactly two items from my childhood, cause garage sales came into vogue when we moved from our childhood home....and all my mother saw was $$$ signs :eek: Not really, though she sold items then that later she'd wished she kept. I'm thinking...yeah, ya could've paid for college for all of us just off that vintage Barbie/GI Joe (the full size one, btw, I called him Mike) stuff you sold for a dang quarter :eek:

One doll I had was a Jane West. She was Barbie sized, but most of her clothing was molded onto her body (in blue). She came with rubber vest and skirt though. She also had a horse and a pony (thunder and lightening). Was really tempted to bid on her....then thought what the heck am I gonna do with her? Especially since I have no Kens or GI Joes left to hook her up with....LOL.

Also had the original Mrs Beasley doll from "family affair"....course if I had mine...her re-sell value would be zip...cause her glasses were lost about two weeks after I got her :rolleyes:

Had a talking Herman Munster....re-sell value zip....cause mine was mute by the time he hit the trash :rolleyes:

Friend and I discussed how much we loved playing "mystery date"....remember that....open the door for yooouuur myyyssstery date... I always got the bum :mad: Any way I was gonna get her one as a joke....find a mint one with all the playing pieces....sucker sold for 40 some bucks...decided it was not that funny. Told her I thought about buying one....cause it's the thought that counts ;)

My daughter has bought several of her childhood toys.
She got a Fred Flintstone bubble gum machine, J.J. Evans doll, two lunch boxes..Scubie Doo stuff.
It is alot of fun...

Yes! Mrs. Beasley, I had her and she was one of my fav's and I have looked on ebay to see what they are going for. I got an advertisement not to long ago in the mail to buy one I think it was Franklin Mint or one of those, she was like $200.00.
I have also looked for a " Cupi " doll I had those too.
AND I was looking for info on Sigmond the Sea Monster, cause noone here knew what I was talking about when I mentioned that cartoon. I found him on Ebay. :D

I have bought several things that I had as a child that were lost in a fire Like Straweberry Shortcake Blowkiss and her friends. And a fabric pillow that was strawberry shortcake as well. My Daughters love them and I also found Cabbage Patch sheets like I use to have that were brand new I was in heaven.

For 200 bucks, she'd better come signed by Mr. French. What's a Cupi doll?

When trolls dolls came back...told dd....oh, we had those...we called them wish nicks....got the infamous eye roll. I had one, he was dressed like a pirate.

Cupi dolls were little all plastic/rubber dolls you could take them in the tub, etc, I had tons of them.. I'll try to find a link.. be back :cool:

I have bought old little peoples toys for my daughter. They are kinda expensive because they are now collectors items.

I recently found the old Pac Man board game. The one with the little plastic Pac Man heads that eat up the marbles as you go aroung the board. My sister and I were talking about it and there it was! Funny you mentioned this topic! :)

I thought those were called (or spelled at least) Kewpie dolls. Remember how good new plastic doll babies smelled when you first got them out of the package. I loved new baby doll scent (I am goofy). Do you remember when baby dolls came with the hole between their legs. If ya took those in the tub....she was gonna pee in there :eek: Shoot, come to think of it....that's why you liked them, isn't it, rrosenberry :rolleyes:

I remember Sigmond the Sea Monster!! My very first car was a Ford, and I named it Sigmond Ford not just because I was a nut case, but also because of Sigmond the Sea Monster!

I don't remember the Cupi doll. Its ringing a bell but I can't picture it. My favorite was Chattie Cathy!! Maybe thats why I turned out to be a motormouth/blabberfingers! :p

My baby brother had those. The one I can picture....green bodied boy w/ a pot on his head....re-sell value of ours....another zippo...cause someone had chewed on the pot handle :rolleyes:

LOL You mean you never had the doll that you would feed and then have to change the diaper?? I wasn't crazy about thoses!

And it WAS Kewpie dolls!! Now I remember!! I knew that sounded familiar.

How many of you had Easy Bake Ovens? Have you seen them now? So different!

Yes, Jen that's why! LOL I found both spelling of the Cupie/ Kewpie doll on sites.
I have also looked for the Holly Hobbie dolls I had all those in all three sizes,, What happened to ALL that stuff? I often advise my mom how much all this " garbage" as she called it. Is now going for. :rolleyes:

OMG, I just laughed out loud. I had the easy bake oven but my MOTHER wouldn't buy me additional mixes :eek: After the original mixes were gone....I made toast. Hadn't thought about that toast in years :rolleyes:

And no potty dolls. You only got my dolls to potty if ya took them in the tub.

I did have a doll whose name I can't remember...but I remember her She was a blonde, dressed in a two piece outfit, top was pink,yellow, white stripe, bottom's were pink w/ grippy feet on the soles. She came with a tricycle (it was red) and a blue pony on wheels that she could walk behind and push. Now I'm gonna have search auctions just to see if she's still "out there"....out there....and missing me ;)

Recently, I went to our local antique mall,and they had one of those little white plastic Poppin' Fresh dolls ( Know what I mean?) I had one of those too, they had a tag on it for $125.00 , of course I called my Mom on that too!

We possibly have the same mother,, same here, NO MORE mixes! Why was that?! Then it got to that point with all toys.. " No, then we have to buy more stuff for it." Yeah... and?

Ya mean the Pillsbury dough boy? A friend of mine's mother has SAVED everything she owned as a child....ALL of it.

I also had Little Kiddles....the friend I mentioned above....she still has hers.

Your friend should hook up with the guy from, Forty Year Old Virgin, he had all his stuff too, IN the original boxes.

When I bought dd an easy bake MICROWAVE....I was a nice mother....I bought extra mixes right off the bat. Now I don't know when we got rid of the oven....but I just found those extra mixes tucked up in the closet :rolleyes: I should've just made her fix toast :D

She should hook up with him....not because her mother saved everything...but she herself has saved everything her boys (who are grown) ever had. They had all these action figures....not only do they have the doll...but EVERY accessory that came with them.

Oh that antique mall has lost their mind!

That pillsbury dough GIRL is bogus....there was NOT any pillsbury dough girl. Come to think of it....there wasn't too much indication that the pillsbury dough boy was a boy either....if ya know what I mean.

I always wanted to smash that dough boy flat....LOL.

Just a side thought....Barbie's today come with molded ON underpants. Mattel has finally realized no self respecting Barbie owner allows her dolls to remain dressed. It's that or they know little brothers are gonna "check, just in case". ;)

I still have my pillsbury dough boy and I also have 2 of the Snuggle soft bears....

OMG! I LOVED my Little Kiddle dolls! I had tons! Aww...what happened to them....I think my brother pushed them down that hole in the bathroom tile...I know my father was working on a socket in the other room and when he opened it up, he found tons of army men...my gumby and pokey..etc.)

GUMBY and POKIE!!!! I had those!!!! Matter of fact, for years there was a Gumby riding on my rear view mirror....for years, when I got rid of a car....Gumby took his place of honor in the next. Then I guess, I forgot him....sigh...he's tooling around in a 79 colt somewhere. On a happy note when I relayed that info... a friend who used to ride to school with me....bought me another Gumby off eBay :) He's standing right HERE.

I hope you busted your brother in the chops as often as necessary. They needed it. I used to scream when my brother tried to reliate....then my dad would tell HIM....leave your sister alone....even though I started it ;) Know what we used to do to his toys....he had those little green army men. Older brother and I would twist their heads off....baby brother had a whole army of headless men....he played with them any way :rolleyes:

PS I don't know what happened to little kiddles. Come to think of it...they had big heads....maybe they morphed into Bratz. After little kiddles, I had lucie lockets. They were little kiddle size in scent lockets.

RR's not being nostalgic and yearning for childhood. She's thinking of all the ching her junky toys would bring in.
