1 Attachment(s) My engagement ring is definitely not the usual for this area...it's a traditional Irish engagement ring called a claddaugh. My husband had it shipped in from Dublin. I like it a lot because everything has a specific meaning. The heart stands for love, the hands are for friendship, and the crown is for loyalty. So overall, it means, "friendship, love, and loyalty". I attached a pic for you. The bracelet is also the claddaugh. I just got it for Valentine's Day. Anyway, I think you should pick a ring that is special for you and your husband, whatever it happens to be!!! :) |

Yes your ring can be whatever you want it to be. My engagement ring is the exact same as Jessica simpson's except it is MUCH smaller. it is a pear. four years ago when my hubby picked it out he had no idea it was like hers. |

That's a very pretty ring...congratulations! The others are right...choose what makes you happy...nowdays it seems being non-traditional is the new tradition. My husband designed my ring. The center stone is a 2 carat oval shaped diamond set long ways, on each side there is a V shape of 5 smaller diamonds totalling 1 carat and it's set in yellow gold. |

I have to agree that your engagement ring can be whatever you like. It's a symbol of love and marrige to be...so just make sure it fits snuggly with the band you choose for the actual marrige. You can have them custom made to fit snuggly with any ring that you like! Best wishes to you ! |

That ring that you have picked out is beautiful!! It doesn't matter what it looks like! I have a traditional engagement ring with the diamond but if that is the ring that you like then get it! |
I'm a little late on the post, but that ring is gorgeous. I volunteered with a woman who had a large saphire as her engagement ring. I thought it was a beautiful contrast to the traditional diamond. I've actually decided that I would like to have saphires on my wedding band- it's my birthstone and it's something different from "the norm." |
