Go Steelers! Great job, Pittsburgh! Congrats on the Super Bowl XL win! You deserved it! :) |
yadda yadda yadda! whatever! :) |
Oh crapola! Now I have to hear about this all week at work!!! OMG!! Seahawks--you let me down! |
I really did not care who won, but my 10 yr old son is beside himself because Pitt won.... |
i really wanted the seahawks to win :( |
Yeah Steelers!!! WoohoO!!! |
I was rooting for Seattle...oh well, they played well but not well enough... :( |
Seattle outplayed pitt. They just had 5 huge bad calls against them, and you can't win the superbowl against bad calls like that. |
Go big Ben! Even though Pittsburg beat the Broncos, I was still rooting for them. Way to Pittsburgh!! (my husband is from Pittsburg) |

Congratulations Pittsburgh, maybe it can happen to the Cleveland Browns some sunny day. lol |
3 Attachment(s) Yipppppeeeeee! |
With all due respect, the only reason they won that game was because the calls were unfair and one sided. Pittsburg only had 3 penalties called against them, and two were for false starts, I am guessing the officials had problems with their eyesight because I saw an awful lot of holding, and this is not to mention that bogus touchdown that began the game! Obviously, I am a Haws fan all the way...But I could have taken a fairly called loss... |

Love the pictures! Woo hoo! Go Steelers!! |
Had to say as an avid football fan, I was truly disappointed in the collapse of the Seahawks offense at the end of both halves. They looked awful. I am totally unbiased because I don't care for either team and I didn't notice any bad calls whatsoever. |

I am a big Steeler's fan, and my bf is a HUGE Steeler's fan... we actually thought the ref's ruling on BR's touchdown wasn't so good. We both didn't think that it was in- perhaps the camera angles weren't the best, though. However, as Steeler fans, we'll take the call! |
Glad you all loved the pics...As for the calls, I think the officials were slack on both teams as far as penalties. Like the noticible dirty pushing, and shoving by the Seahawks. I said on another thread, that the first TD wasn't one at all; however the other 2 were. |

I as an avid football fan, trying to remove myself from the bias of my love for the Hawks, have never seen such poor, biased, and in MY OPINION disgraceful officiating in any game I have watched...Now sure the conventional wisdom leading into the game said the Steelers as a more established and conditioned franchise would pound the Hawks. This just was not true!!! Yes I count at least 3 critical plays that my beloved Hawks themselves could have performed better on, and well there is no excuse, but I can count numerous objectively bad calls that played as much even more of a part in producing the result in this game!!! (1) 1st Quarter touchdown pass from Hasselbeck to Jackson. Call for offensive pass interference for pushing off. The video was somewhat inconclusive but we do know that the flag was only thrown after the unsportsman like conduct of safety Chris Hope having a minifit and complaining to the officials. What the tapes did show is them both touching one another, slightly if not at all, certainly not pushing off. (2) The "touchdown" the officials failed to call back made on Roethlisberger's third-down dive into the end zone simply was not a touchdown. He was clearly (and no camera angle could have made that unclear) not over the goal line before he was taken down. Not a single part of his body. What is clearly visible is after being taken down he pulls the ball out from beneath him and sets it and his hand over the line. This is clear and conclusive, regardless of the call that was ultimatly made. (3) Um that call agains Hasselbeck for blocking below the waist when he was making a tackle on a defensive pass interception, truly one of the most bizarre calls in football history. It was clearly erroneous as that is acceptable, please read not a personal foul!!! (4) An offensive holding call on Locklear when his hands were positioned in closed fists??? Are you kidding me??? I can count missed calls too, but is that really necessary??? It would be irresponsible to say that the officials intentionally cheated, but I can honestly say that the Seahawks did not lose this game (the Steelers in fact and even according to the commentators were being out played throughout the first half), they were simply not given an opporntunity to fairly participate...I cannot say what was going on but perhaps the natural bias is to an older more established franchise, perhaps Holmgren's outspoken nature in regard to bad officiating played a part...All I can say is bad calls were made, and this cheapens the outcome of a game either team could have won...To say the officiating was good is in my opinion just factually incorrect...Madden agreed, ESPN agreed, numerous sports writers have agreed...It really looks like Pittsburg's 12th man wears black and white stripes...JUST MY OPINION! |

BTW Speaking of the Ravens, did you guys see my baby last night when they called him out for past MVP players:::::I have followed him since he got here!!! I was 21 when I started Stalking Ray Lewis! |
i'm sorry but that game freaked me out. there were WAY too many questionable calls. I wish they'd let the guys play a clean game. mistakes were made...yes. but the MVP for the Steelers was the ref staff. |

What about the Seahawks missed opportunities? |
Quote:
yes...i mentioned those in my earlier post when i said, "mistakes were made." but for goodness sake the refs should alow the TEAM to lose the game for themselves. both teams made plenty of mistakes. w/out the questionable calls we MAY have seen a pretty good, evenly matched game yesterday. the ref simply spoiled what could-have-been a great game. |

I have to agree with BrucesMom and Stewiesmom.......the calls agaisnt the Seahawks as outlined by Brucesmom were ridiculous and seemed biased but the Seahawks totally "lost it' at the end of both halves. It's too bad. In the beginnign I wasn't rooting for either team but in light of the bad calls, I started pulling for Seattle. They were the better in the first half. :( |

agreed. it would be extremely difficult to keep-up moral after questionable calls AND bad plays. it\'s just really too bad. |
