1 Attachment(s) Oh my, that has been 7 years ago...I was "friends" with a guy and he was dating a girl. The guy I was friends with was his best friend. Anyhow, we were out goofing off and Jarrod pulled over to talk to "Tim", we starting talking with each other, he was trying to make his girlfriend mad, b/c he found out she was cheating on him. Well, she had a curfue, so he took her home and called Jarrod to see if I was still out. He came back to Kennett, said he couldn't waste another minute with her, and asked if he could take me out. Of course I said yes, I couldn't stand the little girl he was with anyhow! He told Jarrod he was in love when he saw me!!! We started dating about 2 weeks later, and here we are... celebrating our 4th Wedding Anniversary on Valentine's Day!!! |

My fiance and I met in high school through mutual friends when I was 16, but we were just friends. We ran outdoor track together in high school. We went to different colleges and dated different people, but we always kept in touch. After we both graduated from college, we started dating. He proposed last May (after dating a little over a year) and we're getting married this June! |
Ian and I met in a pub Hawaii, in 1978. He had sailed in fromTahiti(he's an Aussie),, and I was on vacation(from Vancouver ) with a friend. We wrote to each other as friends for 2 years , then one Valentine's Day a bouquet arrived. He followed about 10 months later when he had 6 months long service leave from work. Um...even though we've only been on a couple dates, will this count? The guy I just started seeing and I are both on a Jewish dating site (JDate). He had moved to the area in June, and was trying to find a Jewish girl. He saw me, but my account had been inactive for a while. When I logged back on, I saw that there was a Jewish guy in the area, and I sent him a flirt. In the beginning of this semester, he looked at the Hillel group on Facebook to e-mail everyone about going to services. He started looking through the profiles of the Hillel members, and saw my screen name on AIM. He thought "This is an unusual name, and I think I've seen it on JDate..." Sure enough, he had. So he e-mailed me, and we arranged to meet for coffee. Now, don't get me wrong- we're still in the "testing the waters" phase where I'm not sure if he's a boyfriend yet, I'm not 100% sure where it's going...but I think it might be a budding relationship. Let me know if you want to keep updated. |
A whole group of us went to the beach one summer and my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to get away from everyone for a while so, we went for a walk on the boardwalk together, while we were walking he spots an old friend that he hadn't seen in years. After much hugging and "how are you" etc... my boyfriend introduced me, I said hello, exchanged a few cordial words, then said goodbye and my boyfriend and I continued on our walk. A couple of months later my boyfriend and I had a huge fight (he was a semi-professional basketball player and was always on the road) and I decided I was too young to sit at home waiting for him to come home, so.. we broke up. A couple of weeks later, my best friend met this guy and started seeing him regularly, he had a roommate whom she said was a great guy..really funny and a lot of fun..."Lets all go out together" she says. OH NO.. a blind date.. Anyway, she begged, she pleaded and finally I agreed. So.. we make this plan to meet up at their apartment on Saturday and when we get there and the door opens, there's the guy from the boardwalk !! Blah.. blah ..blah.. 31 years later, here we are.. I'm on Yorkie Talk and he's sitting next to me watching the superbowl.. Best Blind Date EVER !!!! |
Has it really been 6 years?!? 2 Attachment(s) Scott and I met at a fraternity/sorority mixer in 2000 when I was a freshmen and he was a sophmore at Texas Tech University. Not too romantic! We dated for almost a year until he proposed on my birthday (Feb. 9th) in 2002 and married in Santa Fe, NM on August 4th, 2002. I loved my ceremony in the mountains at a hacienda bed and breakfast type place, I wish my pics were internet available:( How time has flown by, it has been about 6 years since we have met, some days it seems like we are still dating! Probably due to our lapses in maturity:) But we have so much fun, and now we have a little furry baby to love as well! Jessica |

These were wonderful - I just spent 1/2 hour reading them....Ok - Here's my condensed version About 10 years ago I was hanging out at the pool at my apt....this DUDE sits down and starts asking me about a girl that lived there and asked ME to give her his phone number lol - (They were both in AA together at the time) So I do and she turns it down. :D I called him to tell him this and he invited me out and since I was between men - I said sure....(I really only wanted free drinks and to rub his face in the fact that I was the go between) ..... ;) Then he hits on ME and I said "HELL NO" !- I wasn't going 2 be 2nd choice lol - and he said he didn't think I'd say yes ....Well...once I met his cocker spaniels and got to know him ...he turned out to be a really nice guy. We've now been married 5 years and going thru the hardest thing I've ever dealt with....His serious illness......I really miss the guy I married but we're trying to make the most of it. |

I was only 14, 22 years ago! LOL I was a freshman in High School. I was 14 years old. I was a little on the shy side with boys. My best friend introduced me to my husband in the lunch room. He had a nice smile, but I wasn't interested. He tells me that it was love at first sight for him. We ended up becoming best friends and when I was ready to have a boyfriend, Him, he was waiting. So at 15 (He was 16) we went on our first date. I didn't let him kiss me for a whole year! So at 16 I kissed him and then ran into my house because I was so embarassed. Well that doorbell rang and rang. My dad answered it LOL!! Well next month will be our 17th anniversary! I love that man so much!! He is still my best friend.   |
My husband and I go way back....our fathers are the same age, went to the same school and were friends. Our mothers went to the same school, lived by each other and their families were friends. I always liked him (he is three years older then me) and I would leave notes in his locker, etc. We were different...I was honor roll, worked in the office, etc. He was not preppy or into sports, drove a big 4x4 and liked to party. We actually got together at a party...that I wasn't suppose to go to! The party was at a friends house and they had a big bonfire. I was sitting on the tailgate of his truck and he came over to talk to me. I about fall over. We have been together from that moment on. He use to drive me to school, pick me up if he got off early, if he worked his normal hours, he would stop by my house and have dinner with us (just about every night). My parents just loved him and still do today. I am a Daddy's girl, always will be, but my Dad and my husband are great friends! Sometimes parents know who is right for their children.....just as we know that we are right for each other. This year will be 13 years...very happy years. We love each other and the life we have together so much. We are like one person.....funny since we were so different in the beginning. We have only had one big fit in our 13 years and that was about 7 years into the marriage (maybe the 7 year itch). No biggie though! He started out very romantic when we were dating (don't they all until they know you are theirs), but now, not so much....it isn't the matter of getting flowers, etc...I don't mind that because I am a very practical person that would rather have something for all of us to enjoy, then something that doesn't last....now, don't get me wrong, he has done things that have great meaning...he's just not the "bring home flowers for no reason" type. Not to be too mushy, but we have fallen asleep numerous times holding hands! He was definitely the one for me! I thank the Good Lord everynight for this wonderful man and family we have. |
