I need some prayers, guys! Talked to my mom this evening and she had went in for her yearly physical and appointment with the woman doctor. They did her mammogram and found a shadow in her left breast. She has to go back next month on Feb. 9th to have it rechecked. Why so long, you ask? Because she goes to a military base hospital and that was the soonest they could get her in. Anyway, please say a prayer for my mom. If it's not a calcium deposit and something else, I don't know what I'd do. :( |
Kimberley, I'm sure this is weighing heavily on you. You and your mom are in my prayers. YOU KNOW that you have tons of suport here and you will always have a shoulder to lean on. |
Awww Kimberley, I am sorry to hear that, but keep the faith. It very well could be a calcium deposit and regardless, everything will be fine. I am sending prayers and hugs your way. |
SHOOT Kimberley... :( How scary but ....Keep the faith ....and Gerry's right - you have tons of friends and we're here for you... Lots of times it's nothing but it's good she had the mammogram ...but not good she has to wait till almost 2 weeks into next month to be rechecked.... I'm going to be hoping she'll be ok.... Are YOU ok ? |
Kim what scary news....I can't imagine how scared and worried you must be right now but try and stay positive!! We are here for you and always will be....you and your mom will be in my prayers!! |
Awww...I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers! |
Kimberley, your mom, you and your family are in my prayers. I am here if you want to talk!! {{{{{HUGS!!!}}}}} |
Wow, Kimberley! So scary! And such a long time to wait! But finding it early is a good thing. Otherwise, is she in good health? Let me know if I can do anything. :( BIG HUGS AND LOTSA PRAYERS!!!! |
Thanks, guys! I know that my YT family will always be there for me. My mom is my best friend and I love her so much. Growing up an only child, my mom and I have always been very close. She's my everything! |
I'm so sorry! Kimberley, It really could be nothing. I was called back for a repeat of my mammogram once, and it turned out to be nothing; they didn't get a good image the first time. On the other hand, this happened to my mother just a little over a year ago. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was devastating for all of us. The good news is that she had surgery, followed by radiation, and she is cancer free to this day. The medical profession has really come a long way. I will keep your mom in my prayers. Try not to worry. Sending hugs your way, |
Kimberley, try not to worry! 85% of all breast abnormalities are benign. Please don't worry too much. I am sure your mom will be fine, regardless of how things turn out. The medical field has made great strides in treating breast disorders. I am a one year breast cancer survivor, so I know what I am saying here. Be strong for your mom, darlin'. Let us know how things go. PM me if there's anything I can help with. Here's a hug for your mom from me! ((((((((((((((((Kimberley's Mom)))))))))))))))))))))))))) |
Kimberley, I am so sorry you, your mom and your family have to go through this. It is a tough time. My sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer at 31 years of age with 3 little kids with a 20% of survival. They removed both of her breasts and her lymph nodes and she beat the odds for 4 years. Then another lump appear and again with powerful meds she has survived another 4 years. She is an incredible woman and always says "Life is about the Journey". I guess I am telling you this because breast cancer is not always a death sentence. You need to be strong for your mom and have faith. We are all here for you and you will be in my thoughts. |
Kimberley, so sorry about your Mom's report. We will be praying that when she goes back, she will get one that's perfect!! |
Kimberley, I know its scary, but wait before you freak out, it really might be nothing!! I had a scare with my mom a bunch of years back, I surely thought we were going to lose her because of the lump they found under her arm. And of course the doctor totally freaked us out.. Turned out to be nothing. Gosh that had to be 20 years ago!! But if the time comes and you just need to talk, girl you know where to find me!! Getting in trouble somewhere!! :p |
I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. |
I went through the same thing with my Mom last year. I can relate to how your feeling because it's scary to have to go through the what if's. Hopefully everything will turn out fine as it did for us but please know our thoughts and prayers will be with your and your family. |
Oh I'm so sorry. I will keep yu=ou and your Mom in my prayers. I had a scare 3 years ago, it turned out the shadow was just the way the breast was positioned. I got the letter on Friday late and had to wait until Monday. i called and they got me in that day for a repeat. I know you Mom has to deal with the Military but maybe she can try and get in sooner. I personally think that anyone who gets a bad mammogram should be able to see a doctor immediately, waiting is so cruel. Good luck |
Thanks everyone! You're definitely making me feel a lot better about this and hopefully, it's nothing. Will definitely have to do a follow up on this but it means a lot to know that you guys are there. :o |
I'm really sorry to hear about this - it is always scarey when this happens. It could be something as simple as a bad film or something that has been there before and if they don't have her old films to compare to, then they wouldn't know that. Anyway, the point is that if she has mamograms yearly and by the way you said this was her yearly exam, I think that is the case - even if this turns out to be problematic, with the fantastic medical therapies available, she is almost sure to be just fine. I know that it is terribly stressful - be strong, especially for her. >>>>> hugs <<<<<<<< :) |
I'm so sorry Kim, I'm a momma's girl so I can just imagine the worry and anguish you are going through! God be with you and your mother.... I hope everything ends up okay...... |
I'll keep both of you in my prayers. Don't get yourself upset worrying, because more often than not, it is nothing. My girlfriend had the same thing happen and she was hysterical. It was nothing to worry about in the end. |
Oh Kim, these xrays show false positives all the time. I had mine on Tuesday and I had to wait two months for it but I would think in your Mom's case they could move it up. She'll definitely be in my prayers and try not to worry too much. |
My Prayers are headed your way Kimberly. Just keep the faith and Pray. I Pray that your mom will be alright and healthy. |
Kimberly...you and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers! |
I totally know what you are going through. My Mom was found to have a tumor in her colon last fall and it took them FOREVER to get her in to figure out when to do surgery. I was freaking because we didn't know if it was serious or not and then we had to wait so long without knowing anything...just that there was a tumor...not what type or anything. Fortunately, she had it removed in November and all is well now but I spent many nights crying because I was scared to pieces. I think it's terrible how they make you wait. My Mom had to get put on nerve pills while she was waiting...damn doctors!! I pray everything is alright with your Mom and my thoughts are with you and what you and your family are going through right now. |
My baby sister just went though a simlar scare and it was fibroid cyst. Her doctor told her most women have these in their breast. But until you know for sure what your mother is going through I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers... |
I'm so sorry to hear this! Your Mom is in my thoughts and prayers. |
you must be worried sick, hopefully its nothing, but if it is remember theres so much that they can do now, i will be prayeing hard for your mum. thinking of you as well |
Kimberly ,Please know your mom is in my highest thoughts and I understand how fearful it can be My own mom had a time when she has a scare in her breast a lump which turned out to be nothing serious .She died of non hogkins lymphomia and what I learned most about it was to stay in the moment .fear is a nasty thing to battle the more you can be in the "Now " the less fear you need expeirance ,Whatever happens youll both be able to handle if your moments are keep in the now ..Good luck and blessing's to you and yours . |
im so sorry to hear this :( im sending positive thoughts your way.and everything is going to be ok hang in there. and please keep us posted. we worry about you. |
