I probably won't hear more from Liam until late this afternoon, given the time difference. |

Oh my goodness this is such heartbreaking news to hear that one of my favorite YT gals is dealing with all of this. I pray that she will be ok and that treatment continues to be successful. I will keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers !! Thank you Lisa for keeping us updated on Priscilla's progress. |

The nurses will give her the same care they give everyone else! There are some amenities and treatments that may be rationed, but none that are life threatening. The reality is: the hospitals are losing money on Medicaid and uninsured patients because it costs more to care for them than Medicaid pays (depending upon the seriousness of course). That is why hospitals are laying off employees and cutting free services. I used to be able to send my patients for dietary/nutrician or stop smoking classes, but now so many of the hospitals have to charge for those classes/services. Very sad! We may need to start a good fund thingie when she has recovered to help them out. Be well Priscilla, and know that you have a powerful group of prayer warriors at your back :D |
We could start a "go fund me" when Priscilla gets out and we know how much her bill will be. |
Priscilla please get better fast. You have so many friends here on Yorkietalk praying for you and sending healing wishes. You have been there for so many of us and now we are here for you. Sending prayers for you Dear Priscilla and Liam and your family. |

Insurance Oh, no! I pray that being uninsured hasn't limited her care!! It could be that all her treatment and tests have to be approved and that slows everything down? Praying for a miracle and a quick recovery from this terrible affliction. Hang in there Priscilla, you will win this fight. Cherie, great idea to start a YT GoFundMe for her medical expenses. Love and Hugs to her BF and family. So sorry that she is still feeling so bad. |
This is just a terrible thing for this poor soul....I get absolutely infuriated, reading how this entire deal is spiraling out of control.....No insurance???!!! I thought that was supposed to be what Obamacare was all about!!!!!! How did she fall thru the cracks???? This is a terrible thing, watching people laying up in a hospital for over 24 hours in that condition, and not being seen by a doctor for over 24 hours after admission??? Surely I did not read that /understand that correctly???? Prayers going up for this unfortunate soul....prayers not only for healing, but also for courage and peace and strength to fight this horrible condition she finds her self in.... I am so unsettled about this and the care she needs and is not getting....this just kills me..... |
I am keeping Priscilla in my prayers that treatments will bring her back to good health. Thinking of her family and sending them prayers. |

I don't know about that doctor thing...all the tests done had to be ordered by a doctor....one who saw her upon admission I am assuming. Maybe they thought he would be there at a certain time? I don't know, but I am quite sure a doctor, intern or resident is following her care. Plus, you know the nurses are always the ones there...the ones who the doctors depend on for information regarding a patient's care. Makes me think of that idiotic mess on The View ... Joy Behar was so out of line. Nurses are there around the clock.....patients are lucky to see a doctor once/day for a few minutes. |
I have not stopped thinking about her all day, I keep thinking about how young she is and I don't even recall her talking about being sick before. I am sure the nurses are giving her excellent care like Linda says you only see a doc for short periods, but I do wonder about the extra tests or procedures that one might not get because of lack of insurance. People without insurance tend to wait till things are critical before seeking treatment. I am lucky I have good insurance so when I had a knee problem I went right away to the doc had exray's and a MRI, I never thought a thing about it. My sister in law also had a knee problem and she took forever to go to the doc, then she did not get an MRI which she really needs, she has insurance but under this new Obama care her deductible is $6,000 a year so she would have still had to pay for the MRI and she just did not have the funds. My sister is in the same boat with a $5,000.00 deductible so even with health insurance many people still are not getting the care they need or are paying large sums of money out of pocket for treatment. It's just so sad on all levels, I keep praying that Lisa might have some good news. Thank you Lisa for keeping us all informed. |

She had already had a CT SCAN by that point. I believe she said a Dr had stopped by but she was asleep - that day which was day 2 of hospitalization - she had seen one the day before and also since then and gets daily ct scans and blood work. Her care isn't suffering. |
Priscilla Thank you for the update and clarification. But like you we can only go on info that we are given. I think what makes us concerned about her care is the lack of any seemingly positive progress. It does not appear that she is getting treatment, just tests and keeping her comfortable. It must be hard for you to get info from Priscilla herself as she is so sick and weak, and I well understand her BF and family are very stressed too. I would have thought by now there would be a definitive diagnosis and that she would be on the road to recovery via treatment and or procedures? But so far it looks like she is getting worse every update?? Hope I am wrong in that assessment. Please let her know how much we care about her and that we are praying so hard for her to beat this thing and be back home, well, and on YT again. Again thank you for keeping in touch with Priscilla and YT. :) |
