frustrating neighbor stories I thought this would be fun... post youre frustraiting stories about your neighbors here: Mine, is this: We lived in this house for 2 years and this neighborhood commitee decided to get together and do a block party. Usually in a block party they invite the whole block...... umm.... at least that is what i thought. So the scumbags dont even TELL us about it and then they BLOCK OFF the street so we couldnt even get into our driveway...My parents walked down and asked what was going on and found out that it was a block party but they got the cold shoulder from everyone. So apparantly everyone on the block was invited except us. (also... just so there is no miscommunication about why..... we were "lower class" then they were. we didnt own our own home, we were only renting it, and everyone else was rich adn didnt work... so that is why, lol, not because we were horrible people or anything)... so OUR driveway got blocked off by the scumbags so they could have a party and not invite us  |
Aww that's mean!! That just reminded me of an episode of Malcolm In The Middle that I saw, where the same thing happened. They went away for vacation and came back early only to find that every one is having a good old time at their annual block party and they weren't invited!! There family is pretty crazy though, and I am sure yours is nothing like them. |
That sucks!!! People are so mean :( I have a good one...when my son was between 2-3 and we lived in our old building, he would bang around as young children do and our downstairs neighbors used to call the cops on us for it!!! Can you believe it. For almost a year they would call the cops 2 times a week on a 2 year old! Finally the police told them they had to stop because they were wasting the cops' time and then eventually we moved. How nasty is that? |

The Big Wheel Gang is right, LOL!!! The funniest thing was when I had a little friend of his over and they were stomping together. The guy came up practically in tears! I told him, hey, this is City living for you, you don't like it move to the burbs!!! |
I have neighbor stories.....They used to have a Pitt Bull that tried to chew thru MY fence....They didn't help me board it up so now my fence looks like a DRUNK CARPENTER fixed it (Me) :D I finally MADE the guy put some boards up on his side... he had the nerve to ask ME for New Fence posts ....HIS dog was the one chewing theu the fence and he wanted ME to fix it. They Broke my Lawn Mower and tried to hide it...They constantly use my trash cans and overfill them - then when I try to put something in there isn't any room...lol *they have my permission for this now) and one day I caught them with MY water hose going into THEIR Garage.....literally stealing water that we pay for to clean out their garage...THAT was funny cuz when the dude saw me he tried to hide in his house but MY hose was going clear across 2 lawns into his garage ....talk about BUSTED ! |

I have neihbors stories that can keep you here for hours. We own our home and we are surrounded by rentals. It used to be a retirement area great place to live with your kids.Well as time went by it turned more into a low income housing area then a retirement area. We have new neihbors every 6 months or so.Well one set of neihbors told us that we were too loud and there happy that we are moving soon. I didnt know what to think. this came from a 16 year old kids and her dad. It kind of offended me because she knows my son is hearing impaired hes 4 yrs.old so he can get loud at times. Then theres my yorkies and boy do they bark. I always stop them from barking but dogs bark and im not the only one with yappers.so i was alittle offend by that since the reason we have been fighting flees is because there dog jumps over my fence to poop in my yard, they let their dog out the front door to potty. They have an un neutered male cat that is nicly adding to the over population of stray cats.Back to the being loud thing. The man of their house drives a big rig truck wich he comes home all hours of the night. Now that is loud at 3 or 4 am. I thought to myself who are they to say anything. Any way like i said i have better grosser stories then this one.The horrible thing is that it doesnt matter about how much money you have its your morals and people have forgotten what its like to be neihborly these days. We have 5 more months in this whole then we will be moving out to the woods with NO neihbors. If you want more neihbor stories I have 9 years of it with maybe only a couple good people.Ask i will write more it get worse. Hold your head up high and remeber you live there rental or not and if they dont want your company then throw your own big party with all of your friends make sure the music is loud and ignore their feelings just like they ignored yours. Have fun but follow your neihborhood rules. |
ooooh, i have another one: At the place my fiance and i live now... our neighbor called my name so she could talk to me (i have two laundrey baskets in my hand which are HEAVY) so i am standing there and she goes on and on about how she is going to pray for me because she thinks that my fiance is ABUSIVE!!!! well you would think that i would know if he is abusive or not, since i am the one that lives with him, but she treated me like i didnt know what abusive was and that i was deffinatly being abused  What the hell????? and then she gets on to how she prays for me every day blah blah blah blah blah . . . I couldnt believe that she would accuse my fiance of something like that, she doesnt know us, and we are never loud (maybe once or twice we had the DVD player up a little too loud.. but taht is IT)... i just told her she was wrong and walked away lol..... and she said "oh... i dont think so" get a hobby lady  |
Our neighbors are old in their late 70's early 80's. They have never had children and decided they don't like mine. They are good kids for the most part. Well the kids would always tell me that Otto, they call him "Otis" to me keeps yelling at them for playing in front of his house (they are in the street), Walking on his side walk (the one the town owns) and for stepping on his lawn the one that is between our house (most of it) 10 feet belongs to me 3 inches belongs to him. They yelled at my son when he was snowblowing that he was getting snow on their property. Well I thought they were over exaggerating. One day I was in the back yard playing with the dogs and the kids where in the front playing basketball. The ball went on his 3 inches twice. The wife was outside and didn't see I was in the back. I have very high shrubs, 15 feet that seperates are backyards and the fence. All of a sudden she is yelling at my kids calling them little Jerk-offs. No one yells at my kids but me. I asked if she had a problem with my children please talk to me and not yell and call them names. Next thing I know is she is telling me that I am a stupid idiot and she is sick of the basketball going on her lawn and that if I had any brains I would have the basketball hoop in the backlawn where they belong. She never saw anyone but one in a driveway. All she had to do was look at the other 25 houses to see I was not the only one. Well she kepts yelling at me to keep my little "RATS" off her sidewalk. She doesn't want my fleas to get on her lawn. Well that was the last straw. I told her if she didn't like it she should move to a retirement home with the rest of the old people and leave me and my family alone. When my husband came home we told him what happened. That night he went and played basketball with the kids and kept throwing the ball on their front lawn. Then walking across it to get it. He wanted them to come out and yell at him. One day Mac went under the fence in her backyard and I here her screaming the rat is trying to attack her. Well I go over pick up Mac and tell her it's not a "Rat". I decided I will try and talk to this woman. I let her pet Mac and explained he is a very friendly little man and would not hurt her. She is now convienced he is not a Rat but they mostly hide in there house. She knows she stuck with us as neighbors. We're really not that bad. |
I can certainly relate to having bad neighbors. I have a lot of horrible stories about our neighbor Beatrice, the "witch." When I was younger there was a rabbit that would constantly come into our yard, and would let us pet it. He quickly became our own stray little rabbit (it was really neat. I assume he had previously been owned.) After a few days of not seeing him, one of my neighborhood friends came over to tell me that Bea had beaten it with a broom! I couldn't believe it (actually.. I could.) A few years ago I was outside with a friend of mine, who was doing construction work for my dad. The neighbors were outside, and he told me Bea was staring at him and making rude comments about how loud he was the entire afternoon. We decided to pretend to be interested in the VERY large trees on her property, and that didn't sit well with her. She immediately started yelling at us that those are her trees and we can't look at them! We just laughed at her and told her we could look at whatever we wanted... Like I mentioned above, these neighbors have huge trees right next to our property. We have a personal alley that separates the two houses, and we park in a section back there. This year, she decided that she was going to rake all of her leaves into that section when we weren't home! When my dad saw it the next day, he used the leaf blower to put them back where they belonged. The following morning they were on our property again! As I was leaving, the other neighbors stopped me to tell me that Bea came out at 5 a.m. to rake them back! That *****! |
Just thought I'd add that the same woman had her children taken away from her (they are adults now) because she was angry with them and locked them in their garage! (Among other things, I'm sure.) And when her husband lost his job a few years ago, he was so scared to tell her that he got dressed and left for "work" every day for over three months before he got another job! |

I think I would have been so POd that I would have called the police on your neighbors! It just doesn't seem like it would be lega for them to do that. What if you had a delivery or movers coming on that day? I've always heard that if you don't want neighbors complaining about your party-invite them!! |
every time i take one of the dogs out to potty my neighbor comes outside and stands there watching me i go in he goes in |
I live in a little Cul se sac there is about 8 houses everyone watches out for everyone,a great bunch of people............no wonder i have lived here the longest than anywhere else 17 yrs..........i dont want to move.........not after reading about all your nasty neighbours  |

wow I thought my neighbors were bad but now they seem like saints! I just moved into this awesome place 2 weeks ago. Lots of room, a block and a half from school, and cheap! Then the first night I realized I'm living next door to a band that practises between 11 pm and 3 am... sometimes even later. Someone called the cops on them one night but they're right back to it now. I would move somewhere else but I can't pass up the price and location of this place! |
My stories aren't as bad as everyone else's, but here goes. I lived in the city for the first 14 years of my life and we knew pretty much everyone on the entire block. Then we moved to the suburbs. We have lived here for 6 years and STILL do not know our next door neighbors. Our house is right next to the "commonground" and this one man walks 10 feet from his house to let his dog crap all over our yard and the common ground. And this is NOT little yorkie poop. Sometimes I will stand outside just to give him the evil eye and let him know that we know he's the one doing it. It just kills me that he is so lazy. One time my boyfriend had his car parked infront of their house and the lazy man's wife said "if you don't move your car, i'm gonna call the cops!" what the hell. There is also another neighbor that must own a horse, bc certain times of the year, every day there is a big pile of crap RIGHT next to my car, so I'm always stumbling around the humongous turds with a 100 lb. bookbag and purse and lunchbox and laptop, all b/c someone is too lazy to pick up THEIR dogs crap. Grr. About 3.5 years ago, I was going on a first date with a boy and saw him step in a big pile but I was too embarassed to say "hey, you stepped in a pile of crap" so I just kept quiet until later when we were on our way home and it started to really reek in the car, so I was like "Hmm, my shoes are clean, maybe you should check yours" HAHA. Woops. |
Here's my psychotic neighbor story. About 6 months after my husband and I were married, we moved into one of my mother's houses. It was a nice neighborhood and there was a lady that lived across the street from us that also owned an empty lot next to her house. She seemed REALLY nice. Came over to meet me...the whole works. A girl that I went to high school with lived down a few houses and Linda told me to watch out for her because she was schizophrenic or something. Anyway, the woman had issues. So, a friend came over and parked ON THE STREET in front of the lady's empty lot. He was there to fix my husband's starter on his jeep. Anyway, she is doing her yard work and comes over and asks him to move his vehicle. He told her he wouldn't be long and she's standing there glaring at me. She went home and called the cops. Cops show up and tell her that it was a public street and that he could park there. He continued to work on the jeep. I go out to smoke and I saw her, so did the guy, hit his truck with a weed eater! My turn! I called the cops on her. They were ready to file a report against her except the guy didn't want to do it. So, she got off the hook but boy, if looks could kill after that day!   |
I don't really have any bad neighbors per say, thank God. However, there are some people in our cul-de-sac (and WE can't figure out who they are) that don't understand what it means to keep your cat up! It's different when you don't live in garden homes that are RIGHT next to each other and your cat has room to wander. But I am constantly cashing cats off my porch and off our cars. They drive the dogs nuts and crap on my porch! Grrrr... How would they like it if I brought a big ole pile of Bassett poo to THEIR porch...? Bad thing is, they crap on my neighbor's porch too and she is pregnant. I know this is dangerous. I bought a live animal trap because I figured some of them were strays...no collars and no one we asked (which was everybody) would claim them. There was one that showed up a couple weeks ago that practically (LIVED) at our house. (Was sleeping on our porch...even when we would come home.) I'd never seen this one before. I HONESTLY thought he was lost. He even had the nerve to RUN in our house when we opened the door. Trixie went nuts, the cat hissed and swatted at her and took off through our house like a looney! My husband, being extremely allergic...ended up having to go the next day for allergy injections! Long story short, we caught it and turned it over to the no-kill cat shelter. A few days later, signs for the cat showed up in the neighborhood that it was missing. I put up signs under them that said "Check the no-kill shelter and keep your cat up!" They didn't care enough to pay attention to where it was, but loved it enough to put up signs? The shelter is 15-min away, but they never went to get the cat...they just bought a new kitten! :( |
9 cops live on my block... and they're not just any cops... they're Chicago cops. Chicago's finest. They're a bunch of creeps. My next door neighbor is the police chief. He is in his garage every single night until 3AM or so. My apt practically overlooks his garage and I constantly see him trying to look in. He has a bunch of power tools that he is always playing with until the wee hours of the morning. My favorite neighbor-cop story is on-going. Whenever I get a package, the mailman/fed-ex man/UPS man put it between my screen door and the storm door on the front porch. Neighbor TAKES them and brings them into his house so I have to go over there and get them. He checks me out every single time I see him. I told him that he doesn't have to take my stuff into his house, but he insists so that it doesn't get "stolen". How the hell does he know that I have a package anyway? Is he constantly watching my house? Freaky. and what do I do? Call the cops?? |

One thing you could do is contact your post office..... because he is taking your mail he is "tampering" with it..... which happens to be a federal crime ;) .. You could also go ABOVE the police chief's head and talk to HIS superior about the ongoing problems you are having with the law enforcement neighbors. AND (i dont know what kind of "checking you out" he does.... ) but this could be stretched to sexual harassment, and as for the 'chief' trying to look in your windows, peeping toms are punishable by law as well :D |
Well I am very lucky that I have some wonderful neighbors. But I would have to say the only ones I have gotten upset with is the owners who's dog attacked Gus. After warnings that they had to fix any damages the dog made to get in and out of the yeard. For a while they tied her up. I can hear her crying and crying. So they untied her and filled in the holes she had dug. But they never did fix the gate. She knew how to open and close it to get in and out. A few of us neighbors went to go have a talk with them. We were fearfull that she might attack again. We all have children and a few of us have small dogs and lots of cats. They just didn't take it seriously. They said that she would never attack the kids. Because they had 2 little one at home and she was very loving and sweet towards them. A few day after that, the neighbors found their 3 lbs chi dead in their back yard. It was apparent that he was mauled and there was a big hole that lead to the same dog. But there was no real proof. We all knew who did it but they still would not do anything. Soon after that she got out again and found herself some kids playing with their new puppy. Charged, attacked and killed it. It took 3 attacks. 2 of them that resulted in death till they came and took the dog away. And why,,, they didn't take time to train their pet nor did they do any real repairs to insure she wouldn't get out. And what really sucks is their 4 year old boy adored that darn dog and was so upset when they came to take her away. I couldn't but feel so bad for him. I mean these people are good people and they do have other dogs,,,,, small ones that stay in the house and are loved and spoiled. But poor Dobie never got the training or help she needed so she is the one who had to pay with her life. It's really sad! |

We live in a wondrful neighborhood, with great neighborsh. Back a number of years ago our next door neighbors sold their house and moved. The people who bought it were horrible. The mother and father were never home and the two teenaged kids ran amok. We had a garage sale and the girl stole a purse from someone who was at the garagae sale! They used to throw things at the dog we had at the time whenever he was outside. One night I got a call from a young woman at our church who called to tell me they were looking at buying that house. She asked how the neighborhood was and I told her if she bought that house there would be no problems in the neighborhood. Luckily she did buy it and the awful people moved away. |
 i live in the country and i have one neighbor next door. a old lady that is so nosy. everytime my door opens you can see her blinds cracked, watching everything we do. i moved out of the city to the country for some privacy and it's worse. she watches my kids and everytime she sees me outside, she's like a little tattle tale over the stupidest things :thumbdown it makes me so mad |
