Yeah that's way more than what I'm paying now and way too much data. |
lost me on the way too much data?? |
We barely use 1 gb between the two of us, and AT&T does the rollever data now. So I wouldn't pay more for more data when I don't even use up what we get now. |
Tmobile - one line for a mobile broadband because we have a mobile business and need internet on the go for credit cards, etc. Three more regular lines - unlimited talk, text and data 4G. $148.00 monthly with all taxes and charges. |
Currently, AT&T, about $15 a phone, unlimited talk and text/messages, no internet, extra for international calls. It's an extended family plan... sister/brother in law account, last I heard 6-8 people on the plan, each phone line has a separate billing listed in the bill. I just pay the brother in law about 6 months in advance, twice a year and it's trouble free. No insurance but with no internet, all ya need is a slide out phone with a qwerty key board and you're good to go. I think sis and the bro in law have the internet added to their phones for extra. If you have a few close friends interested, make some inquiries, see what options are available to you. I saw an ad that mailed a separate bill to each phone of these extended family plans also.... call em up and ask... I'm paying about what I paid for a land line about 30 years ago. ;) Might look into Consumer Cellular.... sounded pretty cheap a while back. |

Until they bumped me up to 4 Gb a couple months back, I was always running out of data at 2 1/2 Gb. 6 of 1 and a half a dozen of the other. I'm not hooked up to the internet just the phone. It all comes down to a persons needs. Having good coverage is vital. I had a contract with spring and wasn't able to use it at work. I dropped them. I got tired of paying for what I wasn't getting. You can always barter with your provider. When you're contract is up check around see what prices are out there and call your provider to see what they will offer to keep you |
2 Smartphones. Unlimited talk/text. 1 GB data (with an additional free GB for customer loyalty). $120ish/month after taxes and employer discounts, etc. Verizon In my situation I can't have calls dropping all the time. It is either Verizon or AT&T around here. Verizon has been good to us. My sister and BIL have Ting. It runs off of Sprint. While they are very nice and gery cheap the coverage is crummy here. In Port Huron (near border) the BIL's phone roams to Canada. We prefer paying a chunk and getting good coverage. |
We pay $202 a month for 2 smart phones with unlimited talk and text and 30 gb of internet data. We live out in the country so Verizon is the only cell service that works well for us. Also we tether our cell phones to our computers for our internet service at home. |

Well apparently they don't offer free phones anymore if you resign your contract. I've been shopping around and looks like for what we need AT&T is still going to be the best for us. But bf's phone is so old, we thought we could walk in and resign and get a new (older model) phone for free or for $100 like in the past. Nope! They don't do that anymore. At least not in store. Now they just have you buy the phone outright at full retail ($500+ and not even for the newest model!), or they break up the phone into payments. Why don't people just buy a slightly older model off ebay then? Some people just have to have the latest and greatest I guess. I'm going to check AT&T's website and see if they still offer anything online with resigning the contract. What about people like MIL who don't want a smartphone, only wants a flip phone? She uses an ipad at home for internet. Even the largest of smartphones will be too small for her 70 year old eyes. |
My grandma and I share a family plan, so we have a 3rd line that never gets used, like a cheapo flip phone. Total we end up paying somewhere around $180/month I believe. We have 10gb of data per month. My dad pays a lot more w/ Verizon, he's about to switch to sprint. |

google brought me this: AT&T Mobile Share Value® plans with Unlimited Talk & Text Unlimited 1 GB $25.00 /mo. + Device access charge Basic Phone Access Charge$20.00/mo. smart phone service costs more so, 2 non-smart phones is $65 total per month. plus the crazy taxes. Mobile Share Plans from AT&T There were higher data plans that had a lower cost per added phone monthly charge... so, they still have the plans available. I pay $15 a month, Robyn pays $15 a month, I don't want internet on my phone. LOL :) Certainly the share value plans wouldn't work for everyone but, ya owe it to yourself to look into them to find out.. |
and, I get a free slide out phone every two years when I commit for an additional 2 years. This July will be 4 years of using this service. |
