fur I posted my thoughs on fur in the Cindy Adams thread. Fur worn by me is far different then fur worn by some peoples of the world. I respect the people who use the animal for survival..I suspect if most of us were living in the remote artic regions we would be having seal stew for dinner and wearing seal coats to keep warm. These commerical fur dealers are putting coats on the backs of people who desire to look good. |
          I was not going to post on this but I have been so upset and crying. I did not watch more than 3 seconds of the video but I am sicken by it. I am a vegetarian, I don't eat meat in any shape or form, I don't eat any dairy products, I am very careful as to what make up I will wear, I don't by fur or leather, not even fake it looks to real most of the time. Anyway I get ripped on by many people who do not understand why I am the way I am. So I want to thank you for posting this. I just e-mailed it to everyone I know and I did not put any warnings. Again thank you for sharing this info |
:bravo: Tricia, I applaud you for doing what you do, and how you're doing it.. It is great,, :bravo: |

Our Family is involved with the Metropolitan Opera House. My Great Grand Father had something to do with the building, so we have lifetime passes to the Met. I remember going all the time, they have stairs you walk down to “show off” your jewels, furs & gowns. I remember back in the 60’s it was a big thing to have mink coats. My Father had the idea that my Mother needed one. Oh was he ever wrong on that one. She made him take it back, the night he brought it home, and return with a diamond ring instead. LOL I sure am glad I inherited the ring, because I have no idea what I would have done with that coat! |
WOW Gina....that is some family tree you have...and way to go MOM.....Diamonds ARE a girls best friend... course all the diamonds I see are ON my best friend  ...but it\'s nice to dream |

My aunt and her friend use to got to cat shows and had little cards made up that said, "I hope you enjoy your fir...the last owner was killed in it." They would walk around and slip them in people\'s pockets that were wearing fur coats...the people would never even notice they were doing it. |

There is one fir coat image in my head that remains the funniest thing I have ever seen. Does anyone remember the movie "Ghostbusters II?" There is one part where this snooty lady is wearing a fir coat, walks through some \'ghost slime\' and all of a sudden, it comes to life and these little minks pop up and start going crazy on her. She takes it off and throws it on the ground and it runs away. I can\'t help it...I think of this and crack up every time the fir topic comes up. |
