Sorry but, I couldn't watch the whole thing I thought I would get sick. The same thing should be done to them.

I dont own alot of leather a few purses and shoes, ( I actually have 3 leather like coats) that would surprise anyone, how real they look and feel. , it enters my mind. But like Villette mentioned, I agree with alot of what Peta says and stands for, but I'm not a Fanatic about it.. I'm not a Vegan or a vegetarian.. But It does enter my mind as I eat certain things.. as for leather,, the day I see a video of someone skinning a live cow,, That will be the day I become a vegetarian, I'm sure of it. I also believe, correct me if I'm wrong.. but cows are used for other purposes,, like meat, etc. Rather than being skinned and the carcass and meat being thrown on a truck to rott.~ JMO

I've watched almost all the PETA videos, and they are all so horrible. I almost want to go veg just from seeing the horrible things they do to cows & pigs & chickens. Did you know that the cows have their throats slit while alive and sometimes they start cutting off limbs before they're dead.... ugh I'm making myself sick just thinking about it.... Yet for some reason I can't bring myself to give up meat...

Oh...my....god! I had no idea they did it like this. I think that was the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. I couldn't watch the whole thing, I only lasted a few seconds. How can people do that?!?!!??! :confused: I was against it already, but to find out they are skinning them ALIVE!!!! I am at a loss for words.

OMG I just literally ran to the bathroom and threw up my lunch. That was so awful. I can't stop crying.

I agree - this always enters my mind too Kristy - I DO have leather. I have 5 pair of Leather pants....Coats, boots & purses - I even used to have a Leather Panama hat...and I DO wear it all. Leather is all around us. FUR IS NOT and shouldn't be.

We don't kill cows ONLY for their skin ....they are a staple in our lives....We use them for food & many other things... I'm almost positive almost every cow part is used for something. While I hate knowing how they are killed - It's not going to stop...at least not in our lifetime.

The day a Cow is slaughtered for only it's skin... and no other reason... is the day I NEVER EVER Buy leather again.

Maybe one day Humans will find substitites for meat and this killing will stop but in the case of those animals on these videos - These animals were being tortured and skinned ALIVE For a Cosmetic Materialistic reason - for nothing other than their skin.... so some Silly mindless person can show themselves off in Fur.

Poor Jen - I stopped the video myself for that same reason....Are you ok now girlfriend ? It IS bad.... but the only way people will be outraged is if they SEE it with their own eyes...it's hard to watch... but if no one watched then no one would know this happens and happens every DAY.

Fur is EASILY Manufatured & Imitated - Hell...the fake fur looks the same as real fur - this slaughter does NOT HAVE TO HAPPEN.

I don't ever recall it being cold enough in Alabama that I would have to have my skin and someone else's too on me to keep me warm!

That is Exactly why I posted this .. AWARENESS! People need to know this is happening. SO many people do not.. SO many wearing fur DO NOT. If you can watch that, and it NOT affect you... and you dont have a whole new outlook on fur wearers...then I feel sorry for you. JMO.

I think it absolutely disgusting and unbelievable. Why the heck do they skin animals alive? I just dont understand it. Does anyone know? It doesnt make it right even if they killed them first but I dont understand why they make the animal suffer by keeping it alive when they skin it.

Same here.. I showed it to one of my coworkers, who is a hunter,and he said the same thing... I'm sure they get bit often.. GOOD!

It just really doesnt make any sense. How hard is it to inject them with something that would instantly kill them? I mean it really cant make any difference to the quality of the fur to kill the animal first but yet why wont they do it? Killing an animal for fur is still sick but its just so unfathomably sick to skin an animal alive. Pisses me off

I dont want anyone yelling at me I just want to know the truth. Cows are killed first before they are skined for leather right? And are cows that are used for leather definetly used for thier meat too? Does anyone know? Are they tortured? Im not sure I really want to know as it will make me very sad, but I think I should know.

From what I've found out over the years

Not all leather is cow.
Not all cows skinned for leather are eaten. Most aren't healthy enough.
People who raise cows for food take better care of them than those who raise cows for leather hydes. JMO.

I don't get to post too often, but I had to post to this. I can't begin to tell you how sad this is, and how sad it makes me feel for the animals. I clicked over to the sight, saw the picture, tried to read, couldn't, and clicked back. No way I can watch that. No way I will ever wear anything fur. I didn't know that they skinned animals alive for their fur. I always assumed they were dead - and you're right - that doesn't make it better.

I, too, am angry at the people who do this - the industry I guess is the right term here. But not so much at the people who wear them - surely most of them don't know. I'm sorry to admit it but whenever anyone asked what I wanted for Christmas, my standard answer (meant as a joke) would be a million dollars and a fur coat. I dropped the fur coat idea some years ago because I didn't feel comfortable about it - even when I thought the animals were dead. Now I am sickened.

I know one person who wears a fur coat - sadly, I have borrowed it in the past for special occasions. I will e-mail this link to her because I'm sure she doesn't know either.

Just pass the word to anyone you can and you'll be helping in your own way.... its public education that will eventually make people stop buying real fur....I hate knowing how some people are upset by this....but it's a very upsetting business....

Unfortunately from what I've seen in the PETA videos, some of the cows that are used for meat are so sick you would be afraid to go near them (or so thats what they show in some of the videos). It's so sad, when I see them in that condition, I want to bring them home. It's not just cows either, when I go to the horse auctions, I see other animals in poor sickly condition like sheep & pigs. It's horrible and quite gross to see how the animals look that end up on our plate. :(

I could not even watch the video--HOW can anyone ever do this --It is so unbeilevable that they could do this to innocent animals. Imagine going to work and doing this for a living--How do they ever go home and sleep. I saw this article in the paper not long ago and it said it was dogs they did this to and that they went through 20,000 dogs a year. mostly bigger dogs because they didn't need as many to make a coat. These dogs were ones that had got away or in the shelter and men would get the ones off the street where ever they could because they were free and didn't cost them any money -- then they would sell them to these places. I have not been able to get it off my mind since I read it and now to actually see it being done in the video is just discusting. I felt like getting everybody together and making war!!

The article that I read ---said that they skin them alive because the fur does not lose its lustre--I wonder what they would look like skinned and hung--Sick!!! Just cannot fathom this happening it was worse then anything I have ever seen.

OMG! :cry: :mad: I've never seen anything that HORRIFIC! I couldn't finish the Video...I wanted to throw up....how do you RAISE a child to grow up and torture another living thing like that! They are going to HELL...all of them....I hope they burn alive in agony for eternity!!

I saw the video last night and got so sick to my stomach I shut down the computer and went to bed. I thought I'd have to throw up! I have never seen anything so horrid! How can human beings be so cruel. I would have never, in my wildest dreams, thought that poor animals are being skinned alive. I layed in bed and couldn't get that out of my head! How can people get by with doing that? To think of the excruciating death those poor animals have to suffer. The people doing that to them have to be sick too! No one in their right mind would take a job like that unless they are some kind of maniac. What is this world coming to? I just cry everytime I think of the poor defenseless animals.

I agree with all of you - I couldn't get that off my mind all night either and my husband was really getting annoyed with me moping around last night......I usually try to keep things filed away in my mind...move on and and try to do something if I can ....but this was SO Awful I don't even know where to start.....

I agree - so far All I've done is email that out to ALL my email contacts that MAY not know this - I got back an email from someone asking me WHY I sent it - (I DID warn everyone it was horrible) and I said.... so you can tell EVERYONE YOU KNOW Where that FUR YOU WEAR COMES FROM .....She then said she would help too -

I guess the only thing we can really do is SHARE This with everyone we know - and they'll tell 2 people... who tell 2 people - who tell 2 people.... :)

" why would you send me that?!" to which I replied, " So that you are not living in an unknowing, bury my head in the sand, world. And you know what is going on in the world."
