All the hospitals that I work with require that outside rep get their flu shot by October 1st. I have been getting my shot early at CVS for the past 6 years and have not got the flu yet. Which reminds me that I need to get that shot ASAP it's already the 24th! |
Got my Flu Shot today. I didn't even feel the needle, nor does my arm hurt. |
Many years ago, after getting a shot, the Army doctor who gave it, told me to go swim in the post pool and my arm wouldnt get sore because the vaccine would be absorbed faster and I wouldn't have pain. It works for me, after shots I swim, run on the treadmill or just lift some light weights. I have gotten a flu shot every year because the hospital required it-or you had to wear a mask, which made me hyperventilate. :) Getting injections or giving blood really doesn't bother me but when my ENT removed the tube in my ear, I vagaled on him and scared the devil out of him. He threw open the door, got the nurse and water. |
I read where the nurses union at some hospital, is sueing the hospital because of the policy of mandating flu shots be taken by all the staff. Will be interesting to see how THAT works out! (Some hospitals will get around it by having you wear a mask or whatever, but there are some hospitals and companies out there that MANDATE a flu shot....this law suit will set a precedent for how far a company can go demanding what medical procedures employees MUST subject themselves to.) |

Got mine at the grocery store. Didn't feel the needle no soreness but it itched this morning and there was a red spot about the size of a quarter. |

Got mine at Walgreen's today and had a fender-bender in the parking lot when a guy backed into me and his wife got out and chewed me out - when I had the right of way and his back bumper hit my left front hubcap! Ugh! But at least I got the flu shot as my doctor didn't have them in last week! So far, no bad side effects! |

I went on in the pharmacy and got my flu shot and headed for home. The sky was growing dark in late afternoon! Then driving home a bad storm started whipping up, the wind started screaming and howling, leaves and limbs blowing everywhere and I just drove home as quickly as I could and right into the garage and ran into the house, where the power promptly went out for almost two hours! Whew! What a day! :S |

I read somewhere that this years flu strain in a rare one from Australia that not many have immunities to and the strain is not covered in the flu shot. I got the shot, my DH didn't, and we're both down with the flu. I have never felt anything like this.:cry::cry::cry: |

My insurance company denied his claim, which he made the minute he got home(!), for damages and stated he was the driver at fault for the collision. All he had to do was just wait for me to move on past as I was driving along slowly in the traffic lane, the front of my truck had just eased past his car( which didn't even have his back-up lights on as I started past him) by a foot or two when he suddenly shot out of his parking space into the side of my truck. There was nothing I could do to avoid the accident as his back-up lights weren't on and he wasn't moving when I began going by his parked car. He could have avoided it by just waiting for me to get past him. I wonder if those two were already arguing B4 the accident and he never even saw me as they were baited and revved up as soon as they got out of their car. I was so relieved when I got out to see that basically it was okay and that helped me stay in a better frame of mind when that woman began to immediately rail at me for hitting them! Then her husband joined in! I wonder if neither of those people just didn't know parking-lot traffic laws or they just automatically decided chewing me out for something he'd caused was the best course of action to take! SMH. Hope they don't try to sue me! |
