Sandy, so glad you & the pups are ok. Glad you didn't get much damage. |
So happy to see the storm skipped by you & the girls. YT prayers always help. |
So happy that things are ok by you, Sandy! I saw a picture on the news of a beautiful rainbow on your island...did you see it? |
Yes, lots of rainbows. Seeing the damage in other areas on tv news tonight, I realize how easy I got it in my area. I have friends about 40 miles upcountry who still do not have power, and there are downed trees blocking several roads. I'm wondering if I should stay in prepped mode for a few days, in case Julio changes course and hits here. I have patio furniture tied to trees, and cushions and pool floats still in the living room. It is amazing how the stress of worrying what might happen, and preparing for it, really takes a toll on me. I am so tired and feel like a truck ran over me. More sleep will help. |
Rest up! So glad things turned out okay for you and it is amazing how worry can make each of us so tired. My DH always says that there is nothing like a good night's sleep to make everything seem better. |
Glad to hear that all is well and that you made it safely through the storm :) |

Stay prepped just in case and relax only when you know for sure that second storm can't come your way. I'm sure you are exhausted from all the stress and work involved in preparing, waiting for and enduring the passing of the storm, not to mention seeing the damage it did. That part alone is very stressful. I'm so glad it didn't hit your area directly and you and the babies are safe. |
Yeah, don't put the lawn furniture outside until that second hurricane passes by! It's sure taking it's stinkin' time. |
Stress can take it's tole on a person that's for sure. I would stay in prepared mode until I knew Mr. Julio the storm is gone. If the patio cushions and pool things are in your way just set them outside close to your house in case you have to bring them in again. So happy you didn't get hit hard, and the girls are ok as well. YT prayers do work, and you & the girls are still in mine until this next storm is gone. |
Checkin in and glad to see your post. Haven't watched the news lately but praying that the 2nd storm just died down before affecting anyone! |
Ooops, too late, I already put the patio stuff outside since it is a beautiful day today. It was depressing me having everything out of place, and on alert, and I can easily put it back inside if I need to. In the meantime, I think I should have some people over for a pool/patio party and shake off this stress mood. We are all so lucky, we need to be celebrating; but of course we will have a watchful eye on Julio. |
dog Sandy, I am so thankful you and the dogs are fine. Hurricanes are so scary. I can't believe the wind you got there. Probably could hardly stand up. You should celebrate. I would have a party. Just knowing how bad this could have been and now realizing you are out of danger-Party and praise God for safety! |

Thank you all for your thoughts. I'd love it if you could all come over with your pups for a pool party..... boy that would be some fun! Julio isn't due to get her until Sunday or Monday, so we have a lil break in between. All the tracking shows it far enough to the north and not much of a problem except the band of moisture 150 miles wide that goes along with it. In the meantime, we are ready if it changes course and comes here. Still have all the evacuation supplies in the car in case, but mostly I am trying to relax and be grateful that Iselle didn't damage my area. Hope power is restored in the next few days for the remaining people without, and that road are opened up. Due to trees and powerlines down, some roads are closed and I heard people are walking/hiking 3-5 miles to get in and out of their homes. |
